Abstract
Efficient enrichment is crucial for the highly sensitive monitoring of phenylurea herbicides (PUHs) in various environmental waters. In this work, a stable core-shell spherically magnetic polyimide covalent organic framework (COF) was synthesized via a simple template-mediated precipitation polymerization method under mild conditions using tri(4-aminophenyl)amine (TAPA) and 3,3',4,4'-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride (BPDA) as the building units (denoted as Fe3O4@TAPA-BPDA). The Fe3O4@TAPA-BPDA exhibits remarkable adsorption performance for PUHs with an optimized adsorption time of only 10 min. The adsorption of PUHs by Fe3O4@TAPA-BPDA followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir model. Furthermore, hydrogen bonding, halogen bonding, hydrophobic interaction, electro donor-acceptor interaction and π-π interactions are identified as the dominant mechanisms contributing to excellent adsorption performance. It was demonstrated that halogen bonds play an important role in the adsorption of substances containing chlorine atoms. The Fe3O4@TAPA-BPDA is easy to operate and highly regenerable. A simple magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) method based on the Fe3O4@TAPA-BPDA was then developed for the rapid extraction of five PUHs in real samples, coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) determination. The analytical method developed has a linear range of 0.5-50 ng/mL, and the limit of detection (LOD) ranges from 0.06 to 0.10 ng/mL. The method exhibits good accuracy with recoveries ranged from 74.5 % to 111.4 %. The analytical method was successfully applied to the highly sensitive detection of PUHs in environmental water samples, which highlighting the potential application of the Fe3O4@TAPA-BPDA in the sample pretreatment.

Abstract
The distinctive morphology of dendritic mesoporous silica nanoparticles (DMSN) has recently attracted considerable attention in scientific community. However, synthesis of DMSN with well-defined structure and uniform size for ultrafast extraction of trace herbicide residues from environmental and food samples remains to be a compelling challenge. In this study, sulfhydryl functionalized dendritic mesoporous silica (SH-DMSN) was synthesized and the SH-DMSN showcases monodisperse microspheres with flower shape and precisely tailored and controllable pore sizes. This distinctive structural configuration accelerates mass transfer within the silica layer, resulting in heightened adsorption efficiencies. Furthermore, the particle sizes (455, 765, and 808) of the adsorbent can be meticulously fine-tuned by introducing distinct templates. Specifically, when the particle size is 765 nm, the optimized SH-DMSN exhibits a substantial specific surface area (691.32 m²/g), outstanding adsorption efficiencies (>90 %), remarkably swift adsorption and desorption kinetics (2 min and 3 min, respectively), and exceptional stability. The superior adsorption capabilities of this novel adsorbent, ranging from 481.65 to 1021.7 µg/g for organochlorine herbicides containing amide groups, can be attributed to the interplay of S-π interactions, halogen bonding, and electrostatic attraction interaction. These interactions involve the lone pair electrons of sulfhydryl and silanol groups with the π-electrons, halogen atoms and amide groups in herbicide molecules. This study not only offers a new perspective on advancing the practical utilization of dendritic mesoporous silica but also provides a pragmatic strategy for the separation and analysis of herbicides in diverse sample matrices.

Abstract
Phthalic acid esters (PAEs) are high production volume chemicals used extensively as plasticizers, to increase the flexibility of the main polymer. They are reported to leach into their surroundings from plastic products and are now a ubiquitous environmental contaminant. Phthalate levels have been determined in several environmental matrices, especially in water. These levels serve as an indicator of plasticizer abuse and plastic pollution, and also serve as a route of exposure to different species including humans. Reports published on effects of different PAEs on experimental models demonstrate their carcinogenic, teratogenic, reproductive, and endocrine disruptive effects. Therefore, regular monitoring and remediation of environmental water samples is essential to ascertain their hazard quotient and daily exposure levels. This review summarises the extraction and detection techniques available for phthalate analysis in water samples such as chromatography, biosensors, immunoassays, and spectroscopy. Current remediation strategies for phthalate removal such as adsorption, advanced oxidation, and microbial degradation have also been highlighted.

Abstract
A simple, fast, and efficient method of vortex assisted magnetic dispersive solid phase extraction for separation and pre-concentration of erythromycin in chicken samples prior to high LC-UV determination has been developed. The novel heterogeneous CeZrO2 nanoparticles doped magnetic graphene oxide, for use as an efficient nanosorbent, was synthetised and applied for the adsorption of erythromycin. The synthetised nanosorbent was characterised using both Fourier-transform infra-red (FT-IR) and energy dispersive X-Ray (EDX) spectroscopy together with field emission scanning electron microscopy-EDX. To obtain the best extraction condition and maximum extraction efficiency of erythromycin, the effect of important parameters including pH, amount of sorbent, vortexing time, ionic strength, sample volume, and desorption conditions were investigated. At optimum conditions, a linear range of 0.25-300 µg kg-1, LOD (S/N = 3) of 0.079 µg kg-1, and LOQ (S/N = 10) of 0.270 µg kg-1 were obtained. The precision of the method was established as having an RSD (%) at 100 µg kg-1 of erythromycin for seven replicates of 2.6% and 3.2% for the intra-day and the inter-day, respectively. Recoveries over 94.0% confirmed a high capability of the proposed method for separation and determination of erythromycin residues in chicken being one of the most important animal products.

Abstract
In this work, a novel composite adsorbent was successfully prepared by zeolite imidazolate framework-8/fluorinated graphene layer-by-layer covalently bonded on SiO2 microspheres, and followed to be packed into micro pipette tip for extraction of trace chlorophenols prior to their detection by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The morphology and structure of adsorbent material was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectrometer, X-ray diffraction, and N2 adsorption. The parameters including the amount of adsorbent, sampling volume, sampling rate, sample pH, and desorption solvent affected the extraction performance was systematically investigated by pipette tip solid-phase extraction (PT-SPE) coupled with HPLC analysis. Under the optimized condition, the linearity of this method ranged from 20 to 2000 ng mL-1 for chlorophenols (CPs) with determination coefficient higher than 0.99. The limit of detection (at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3) were in the range 2-20 ng mL-1 for tap water and black tea drinks, 0.2-2 μg g-1 for honey. The relative recoveries of the CPs from spiked samples ranged from 71.8% to 104.7%, with relative standard deviations less than 6.2%. The filled extraction tube exhibited good stability and reproducibility. The proposed method has been successfully used to detect CPs in water and drinks with satisfactory recoveries.

Abstract
This paper reports a selective, sensitive, and miniaturized analytical method based on a molecularly imprinted graphene oxide (MIP-GO) composite as adsorbent for miniaturized tip solid-phase extraction (MTSPE) to determine naphthalene-derived plant growth regulators (PGRs) in apples. The proposed method combines the advantages of MIP-GOs (high selectivity), MTSPE (low consumption), and high-performance liquid chromatography-fluorescence detection (high sensitivity). Under optimized conditions, the method exhibited appreciable linearity (2.00-200 ng/g), low detection limits (0.21-0.53 ng/g), high accuracy (absolute recoveries: 87.6-99.5%), and high precision (relative standard deviations ≤ 3.0%), along with low consumption (0.5 mL sample solution and 2.0 mg adsorbent). In addition, the adsorption performance of the MIP-GO adsorbent did not decrease over ten months, highlighting the long storage and operational lifetime of the adsorbent. The proposed method was employed for the analysis of naphthalene-derived PGR residues in apples and exhibited promising potential for application in food safety analysis.
