Abstract
In this study, an electrochemical biosensor based on carbon nanofibers (CNF), ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (IL), poly(glutamic acid) (PGA) and tyrosinase (Tyr) modified screen printed carbon electrode (SPE) was constructed for tyramine determination. Optimum experimental parameters such as CNF and IL amount, polymerization conditions of glutamic acid, enzyme loading, pH of test solution and operating potential were explored. The construction steps of the Tyr/PGA/CNF-IL/SPE were pursued by scanning electron microscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The Tyr/PGA/CNF-IL/SPE biosensor exhibited linear response to tyramine in the range of 2.0 × 10-7 - 4.8 × 10-5 M with a low detection limit of 9.1 × 10-8 M and sensitivity of 302.6 μA mM-1. The other advantages of Tyr/PGA/CNF-IL/SPE include its high reproducibility, good stability and anti-interference ability. The presented biosensor was also applied for tyramine determination in malt drink and pickle juice samples and mean analytical recoveries of spiked tyramine were calculated as 100.6% and 100.4% respectively.

Abstract
Food security is significantly affected by the mass production of agricultural produce and goods, the growing number of imported foods, and new eating and consumption habits. These changed circumstances bring food safety issues arising from food spoilage to the fore, making food safety control essential. Simple and fast screening methods have been developed to detect pathogens and biomarkers indicating the freshness of food for safety. In addition to the traditional, sequential, chemical analytical and microbiological methods, fast, highly sensitive, automated methods suitable for serial tests have appeared. At the same time, biosensor research is also developing dynamically worldwide, both in terms of the analytes to be determined and the technical toolkit. Consequently, the rapid development of biosensors, including electrochemical-based biosensors, has led to significant advantages in the quantitative detection and screening of food contaminants. These techniques show great specificity for the biomarkers tested and provide adequate analytical accuracy even in complex food matrices. In our review article, we summarize, in separate chapters, the electrochemical biosensors developed for the most important food groups and the food safety issues they can ensure, with particular respect to meat and fish products, milk and dairy products, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Abstract
The development of enzyme biosensors has successfully overcome various challenges such as enzyme instability, loss of enzyme activity or long response time. In the electroanalytical field, tyrosinase is used to develop biosensors that exploit its ability to catalyze the oxidation of numerous types of phenolic compounds with antioxidant and neurotransmitter roles. This review critically examines the main tyrosinase immobilization techniques for the development of sensitive electrochemical biosensors. Immobilization strategies are mainly classified according to the degree of reversibility/irreversibility of enzyme binding to the support material. Each tyrosinase immobilization method has advantages and limitations, and its selection depends mainly on the type of support electrode, electrode-modifying nanomaterials, cross-linking agent or surfactants used. Tyrosinase immobilization by cross-linking is characterized by very frequent use with outstanding performance of the developed biosensors. Additionally, research in recent years has focused on new immobilization strategies involving cross-linking, such as cross-linked enzyme aggregates (CLEAs) and magnetic cross-linked enzyme aggregates (mCLEAs). Therefore, it can be considered that cross-linking immobilization is the most feasible and economical approach, also providing the possibility of selecting the reagents used and the order of the immobilization steps, which favor the enhancement of biosensor performance characteristics.

Abstract
Biogenic amines (BAs) are widely found in food as a consequence of diverse factors including free amino acid availability, microbial production of decarboxylases, and variations in processing and storage conditions. Hence, BAs are considered as an important marker for determining the freshness and quality of food. Owing to the documentation of BAs in different dietary products, their numerous negative impacts on human health have reported to be a serious concern in past few decades. Therefore, the quantification of these chemical species in food becomes crucial as it can immensely contributes toward control of new episodes on food intoxication in humans. In this line, various chromatographic and colorimetric methods have been developed to detect BAs. However, these methods are in use from a longer time, still are limited by high cost, lengthy procedures, huge infrastructure and skilled personnel requirements that hinder their on-field application. In pursuit of a reliable method offering accurate detection of BAs, this review presents the state-of-the-art of electrochemical strategies for BAs sensing in food. The core of the review discusses about the widely employed electrochemical transducers, such as amperometric, potentiometric, impedimetric and conductometric-based BAs biosensors with significant findings of research work conducted previously. The application of electrochemical sensors to analyze BAs in different fields including food systems (fermented and non-fermented types) and smart packaging systems has been reviewed. Moreover, existing challenges and further available prospects for the development of rapid, facile, and sensitive electrochemical strategies for on-site determination of BAs have also been discussed.

Abstract
In this work, a new electrochemical biosensor was developed using peptides selected by Phage Display as biorecognition phase to Breast Cancer (BC) characterization. Phage clones were selected against MCF-7 (ER-positive BC) proteins, in order to characterize patients with aggressive luminal BC. Biotin-C3 and biotin-H2 peptides were chemically synthesized and validated by flow cytometry, immunofluorescence assays, and ELISA assays, being more reactive to the MCF-7 lineage. Furthermore, a new matrix for the coupling of biomolecules on the surface of graphite electrodes was generated, through electrochemical modification with a new material derived from 3-(3-aminophenyl)propionic acid (3-3-APPA). Electrochemical and morphological characterizations were carried out, and the mechanism of electropolymerization of poly(3-3-APPA) was proposed, in which the carboxylate groups are kept in the structure of the formed polymer. Then, a biosensor was developed by immobilizing the biotin-C3 and biotin-H2 peptides in the SPE/poly(3-3-APPA)/avidin system for the detection of BC tumor markers in serological samples. Finally, peptides were validated using samples from patients with BC and Benign Breast Disease. Biotin-C3 peptide characterized luminal BC according to p53 status and to HER2 expression, being the biosensor a better strategy when compared to ELISA test. This new biosensor will open a new perspective for a rapid and electrochemical platform for the characterization of BC and its molecular subtypes.
