Abstract
AbstractAn easy to handle high-efficient approach to 5-polyfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiones (11 examples, up to 91% yield) is reported. The tautomerism of thione and thiol forms for the obtained products is discussed. A one step procedure for 6,6-dimethyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-5,6-dihydro[1,3]thiazolo[2,3-c][1,2,4]triazole formation from trifluoroacetic acid and 4-methallylthiosemicarbazide has been developed. The structures of the products were unambiguously determined by complex NMR investigation and by single crystal X-ray diffraction.

Abstract
Tertiary, morpholine-derived, fluoroalkyl amides have been found to be efficient, readily accessible, bench-stable surrogates of fluoroalkyl aldehydes. This discovery is applied to the one-pot synthesis of a symmetrical and, more challengingly, unsymmetrical meso-fluoroalkylated bis(heteroaryl)methanes via a Schwartz's reagent-mediated reductive activation. The usefulness of this approach for the introduction of a fluoromethylated carbon bridge was proven by implementation of the developed methodology in the synthesis of a fluorine-decorated bispyrromethane skeleton and an α-alkylated BODIPY core.

Abstract
We present herein a visible-light-induced [3 + 2] cycloaddition of a hypervalent iodine(III) reagent with α-ketoacids for the construction of 5-CF3-1,3,4-oxadiazoles that are of importance in medicinal chemistry. The reaction proceeds smoothly without a photocatalyst, metal, or additive under mild conditions. Different from the well-established trifluorodiazoethane (CF3CHN2), the diazotrifluoroethyl radical [CF3C(·)N2], a trifluoroethylcarbyne (CF3CĊ:) equivalent and an unusual CF3-containing building block, is involved in the present reaction system.

Synthesis of N,O-Chelating Hydrazidopalladium Complexes from 1,2-Bis(trifluoroacetyl)hydrazine. INORGANICS 2021. Abstract
N,O-chelating dicarbonylhydrazido-palladium complexes were synthesized by treatment of 1,2-bis(trifluoroacetyl)hydrazine with a mixture of a Pd(0) source, [Pd(dba)2] (DBA = dibenzylideneacetone), and four-electron donors including 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane (DPPP), N,N,N’,N’-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA), and two equivalents of triphenylphosphine. The same products from DPPP and TMEDA could be obtained alternatively by using Pd(OAc)2 through deprotonation of the diacylhydrazine. The five-membered chelate structure was confirmed by NMR spectra and X-ray crystal structure determination. The X-ray structures indicate that the products are formally considered as Pd(II) complexes with a hydrazido(2–) ligand. In the case of the triphenylphosphine-coordinated complex, a fluxional behavior in dichloromethane-d2 was observed by variable temperature NMR experiments, possibly due to structural changes between the square planar and pseudo-tetrahedral geometries.

Abstract
N′-Alkyl hydrazides were effectively synthesized by routes featuring installation, alkylation, and removal of a trifluoroacetyl group. A set of amino acid derived hydrazides were acylated using trifluoroacetic anhydride, and the resulting trifluoroacetyl hydrazides were alkylated with alcohols in Mitsunobu reactions and with alkyl halides under alkaline conditions. Removal of the trifluoroacetyl group was affected under reductive and hydrolytic conditions to provide the respective N′-alkyl hydrazides. This three-step process may be performed without isolation of intermediates to yield N′-alkyl hydrazide after a single chromatographic purification.
