Abstract
Herein we have computationally evaluated the relationship between Ag and Au nanoparticle (Ag/AuNP) size and π-surface extension in the formation of noncovalent complexes at the PBE0-D3/def2-TZVP level of theory. The NP-π interaction is known in supramolecular chemistry as a Regium-π bond (Rg-π), and differentiates from classical coordination bonds in strength and type of metal orbitals involved. In this study, the Rg-π complexes involved small Ag/AuNPs composed by 1 to 5 atoms and benzene, naphthalene and anthracene as π-systems, being characterized using several molecular modeling tools, including molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) calculations, energy decomposition analysis (EDA), quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM), non covalent interaction plot (NCIplot) and natural bonding orbital (NBO) methodologies. We believe the results reported herein will be useful for those scientists working in catalysis, molecular recognition and materials science fields, where structural-energetic relationships of weak interactions are crucial to achieve product selectivity, a particular molecular recognition mode or a specific molecular assembly.

Abstract
Heterocycles have been found to be of much importance as several nitrogen- and oxygen-containing heterocycle compounds exist amongst the various USFDA-approved drugs. Because of the advancement of nanotechnology, nanocatalysis has found abundant applications in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. Numerous nanoparticles (NPs) have been utilized for several organic transformations, which led us to make dedicated efforts for the complete coverage of applications of metal nanoparticles (MNPs) in the synthesis of heterocyclic scaffolds reported from 2010 to 2019. Our emphasize during the coverage of catalyzed reactions of the various MNPs such as Ag, Au, Co, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pd, Pt, Rh, Ru, Si, Ti, and Zn has not only been on nanoparticles catalyzed synthetic transformations for the synthesis of heterocyclic scaffolds, but also provide an inherent framework for the reader to select a suitable catalytic system of interest for the synthesis of desired heterocyclic scaffold.

Abstract
A series of silver amidinate complexes has been studied both experimentally and theoretically, in order to investigate the role of the precursor complex in the control of the synthesis of silver nanoparticles via an organometallic route. The replacement of the methyl substituent of the central carbon atom of the amidinate anion by a n-butyl group allows for the crystallization of the tetranuclear silver amidinate complex 3 instead of a mixture of di- and trinuclear silver amidinate complexes 1 and 2, as obtained with a methyl substituent. The relative stabilities and dissociation schemes of various isomeric arrangements of silver atoms in 3 are investigated at the computational DFT level of calculation, depending on the substituents of the amidinate ligand. The tetranuclear silver amidinate complex 4, exhibiting a diamondlike arrangement of the four silver atoms, is also considered. Ag-N bonds and argentophilic Ag-Ag interactions are finely characterized using ELF and QTAIM topological analyses and compared over the series of the related di-, tri-, and tetranuclear silver amidinate complexes 1-4. In contrast to the Ag-N dative bonds very similar over the series, argentophilic Ag-Ag interactions of various strengths and covalence degree are characterized for complexes 1-4. This gives insight into the role of the amidinate substituents on the nuclearity and intramolecular chemical bonding of the silver amidinate precursors, required for the synthesis of dedicated AgNPs with chemically well defined surfaces.
