Abstract
Modifying the metal surface is one solution to the industry's growing corrosion problem. Thus, via threading approach and insertion of copolymers (CoP5-7) containing polyarylidenes through the internal cavity beta-cyclodextrin β-CD, novel pseudopolyrotaxanes copolymers (PC5-7) are developed, resulting in mild steel corrosion inhibition. Inhibitors of corrosion based on β-CD molecules adsorb strongly to metal surfaces because of their many polar groups, adsorption centers, many linkages of side chains, and benzene rings. The corrosion inhibition efficiencies IE % statistics have been revised via the Tafel polarization method and Spectroscopy based on the electrochemical impedance (EIS), with PC7 achieving the highest 99.93% in 1.0 M H2SO4; they are mixed-type inhibitors. The chemical composition of the resulting PCs is determined with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is utilized to examine the morphological structure of the produced polymers, and X-ray diffraction is employed to identify crystallinity. Encapsulating CoP5-7 with β-CD changes the morphological structures and increases the generated PCs' crystallinity. The thermal stability of PCs is studied, indicating the presence of these CoPs within the β-CD cavities enhances their thermal stability. This research will be a stepping stone for developing high-efficiency anti-corrosion coatings and various industrial applications.

Abstract
Hydrogen evolution reaction and dendrite growth seriously break the Zn plating/stripping process at the electrolyte/electrode interface, causing the instability of the Zn anode of aqueous zinc ion batteries. To improve the Zn anode stability and reversibility, we report a new electrolyte additive of aqueous electrolyte with the hydrophobic group. This interfacial hydrophobicity maximises the exclusion of free water from the Zn anode surface, which blocks water erosion and reduces interfacial side reactions. Thus, in an optimal 2 M ZnSO4 electrolyte with 2 g·L-1 Tween-85, the hydrogen evolution reaction and other water-induced undesired reactions can be suppressed, which greatly improves the cycling stability and Coulombic efficiency (CE) of Zn plating/stripping process. The stable cycle time of the Zn//Zn symmetric battery reaches over 1300 h, especially at a high current density and a high areal capacity (more than 650 h at 5 mA·cm-2, 5 mAh·cm-2). The average Coulomb efficiency (CE) of Zn//Ti asymmetric cell achieves 98.11% after 300 cycles. The capacity retention rate of Zn//MnO2 full battery is up to 88.6% after 1000 cycles.

Abstract
Novel environmentally-friendly corrosion inhibitors based on primary aminated modified cellulose (PAC) containing nano-oxide of some metals (MONPs), for instance iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4NPs), copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs), and nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiONPs), were successfully synthesized. The as-prepared PAC/MONPs nanocomposites were categorized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscope (TEM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and selected area diffraction pattern (SAED) techniques. The data from spectroscopy indicated that successful formation of PAC/MONPs nanocomposites, as well as the TEM images, declared the synthesized PAC/Fe3O4NPs, PAC/CuONPs, and PAC/NiONPs with regular distribution with particle size diameters of 10, 23 and 43 nm, respectively. The protection performance of the as-prepared PAC and PAC/MONPs nanocomposites on the corrosion of C-steel in molar HCl was studied by the electrochemical and weight-loss approaches. The outcomes confirmed that the protection power increased with a rise in the [inhibitor]. The protection efficiency reached 88.1, 93.2, 96.1 and 98.6% with 250 ppm of PAC/CuONP, PAC/Fe3O4NPs, and PAC/NiONPs, respectively. PAC and all PAC/MONPs nanocomposites worked as mixed-kind inhibitors and their adsorption on the C-steel interface followed the isotherm Langmuir model. The findings were reinforced by FT-IR, FE-SEM and EDX analyses.

Abstract
N′-(adamantan-2-ylidene)hydrazinecarbothiohydrazide and 2-(ferrocenyl-1-ylidene) hydrazinecarbothiohydrazide are used in coordination and organometallic complexes. The important idea of the research in this paper is the principal to prepare thiocarbohydrazones from the reaction of 2-acetylferrocene (Fe-Th) or 2-adamantanone (Ad-Th) with carbonothioic dihydrazide. The materials were elucidated by elemental analysis and spectral data. The as-prepared compounds were applied as effective corrosion inhibitors for HCl pickling of C-steel. Detailed investigations on electrochemical (open circuit potential (OCP) vs. time, potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), and impedance spectroscopy (EIS)) techniques and surface morphology studies are introduced in this work. Results indicated that Fe-Th could deliver greater inhibition performance than Ad-Th, and the highest protection capacity values of 93.6% (Ad-Th) and 97.9% (Fe-Th) were accomplished at 200 ppm. The adsorption of Ad-Th or Fe-Th additives followed the Langmuir isotherm with both the chemical and the physical adsorption with chemisorption predominance. EIS measurements supported a betterment in the capacitive behavior with the corrosion inhibitors. The inhibitors exhibited a mixed-type behavior as observed from the PDP studies. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) studies emphasize the occurrence of a protective layer of the as-synthesized organic inhibitors on the C-steel interface. Theoretical studies (density functional theory (DFT) calculations and Monte Carlo (MC) simulations) provide appropriate support for the experimental findings. The existing report provides very significant consequences in formulating and designing novel thiocarbohydrazone inhibitors with high protection efficacy.

Anti-Corrosive Properties of an Effective Guar Gum Grafted 2-Acrylamido-2-Methylpropanesulfonic Acid (GG-AMPS) Coating on Copper in a 3.5% NaCl Solution. COATINGS 2020. Abstract
Guar gum grafted 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (GG-AMPS) was synthesized using guar gum and AMPS as the base ingredients. The corrosion inhibition of copper was studied using weight loss, electrochemical, and surface characterization methods in a 3.5% sodium chloride (NaCl) solution. Studies including weight loss were done at different acid concentrations, different inhibitor concentrations, different temperatures, and different immersion times. The weight loss studies showed the good performance of GG-AMPS at a 600 mg/L concentration. This concentration was further used as the optimum concentration for all of the studies. The efficiency decreased with the rise in temperature and at higher concentrations of acidic media. However, the efficiency of the inhibition increased with the additional immersion time. Electrochemical methods including impedance and polarization were employed to calculate the inhibition efficiency. Both of the techniques exhibited a good inhibition by GG-APMS at a 600 mg/L concentration. Surface studies were conducted using scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) methods. The surface studies showed smooth surfaces in the presence of GG-AMPS and rough surfaces in its absence. The adsorption type of GG-AMPS on the surface of the copper followed the Langmuir adsorption model.

Abstract
Benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized, characterized, and tested as a corrosion inhibitor for J55 steel in a 3.5 wt % NaCl solution saturated with carbon dioxide. The experimental results revealed that inhibitors are effective for steel protection, with an inhibition efficiency of 94% in the presence of 400 mg/L of inhibitor. The adsorption of the benzimidazole derivatives on J55 steel was found to obey Langmuir’s adsorption isotherm. The addition of inhibitors decreases the cathodic as well anodic current densities and significantly strengthens impedance parameters. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was used for steel surface characterization. Density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamic simulation (MD) were applied for theoretical studies.
