Abstract
A novel series of polymeric ionic liquids (ILs) based on benzimidazolium chloride derivatives, namely, 1,3-diheptyl-2-(2-phenyl-propyl)-3H-benzimidazol-1-ium chloride (IL1), 1,3-dioctyl-2-(2-phenyl-propyl)-3H-benzimidazol-1-ium chloride (IL2), and 1,3-Bis-decyl-2-(2-phenyl-propyl)-3H-benzoimidazol-1-ium chloride (IL3), were synthesized and chemically elucidated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and elemental analysis. Their influence as corrosion suppressors were investigated for C-steel corrosion in 1 M HCl, by weight loss (WL), potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods, revealing that their exclusive addition decreased corrosion with mounting concentrations. These assays demonstrated that novel ILs are efficient inhibitors at relatively low dosages. The efficacy of the synthesized ILs reached 79.7, 92.2 and 96.9%, respectively, at 250 ppm and 303 K. Parameters for activation and adsorption were calculated and are discussed. The Tafel polarization results demonstrated that the investigated ILs support the suppression of both cathodic and anodic reactions, acting as mixed type inhibitors. Langmuir's adsorption isotherm was confirmed as the best fitted isotherm, describing the physical-chemical adsorption capability of used ILs on the C-steel surface with the change in the free energy of adsorption, ΔG°ads = 32.6-37.2 kJ mol-1. The efficacy of the synthesized ILs was improved by increasing the doses, and the temperature reached 86.6, 96.1, and 98.4%, respectively, at 318 K. Surface morphology was proved by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy (AFM), and then, changes in test solutions were checked by Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. Theoretical modeling (density functional theory and Monte Carlo) revealed the correlation between the IL's molecular chemical structure and its anticorrosive property.

Abstract
Schiff base 2,2’-(5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-diylidene)bis(azan-1-yl-1-ylidene) diphenol (DmChDp) was synthesized and characterized using spectroscopic methods (IR, UV, NMR, and Mass) and cyclic voltammetric (CV) studies. The corrosion inhibition potency of (DmChDp) on mild steel (MS) in 1M HCl and 0.5M H2SO4 was investigated. The corrosion monitoring techniques employed for this purpose are gravimetric and electrochemical methods (EIS and potentiodynamic polarization studies). The study reveals that the Schiff base, DmChDp, acts as excellent corrosion inhibitor on mild steel in 1M HCl. DmChDp obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm both in 1M HCl and 0.5M H2SO4 on MS. Polarization studies show that DmChDp behaves as a mixed type inhibitor in both media. Scanning electron microscopic analysis established the protective nature of DmChDp on mild steel surface. The impact of temperature on the corrosion of MS was also evaluated using gravimetric method.

Abstract
The performance of extract of myrrh plant as corrosion inhibitor for Cu–Zn alloy in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution polluted by 16 ppm sulfide. The results demonstrated that the corrosion rate of Cu–Zn alloy was decreased in the presence of myrrh extract.

Abstract
Effects of hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), polyethylene glycol nanowire (NPEG) and their nanocomposite additives on corrosion inhibition of Zn in 1 mol/L ZnSO4 solution were investigated by weight-loss measurements, electrochemical tests,scanning electron microscopy and battery discharge tests. The results show that the inhibition efficiency of nanocomposite additives is 70%, which is much higher than individual inhibitors of CTAB or NPEG alone, because of the notable synergistic effect between CTAB and NPEG. While CTAB can cause a negative shift of corrosion potential of zinc, NPEG can form a very thick hydrophobic layer on the surface of zinc electrode by adsorption. Furthermore, NPEG can render part of CTAB cations to form large micelle particles along the NPEG macromolecular chains and cross-link with NPEG, and thus greatly enhance the blocking effect of the hydrophobic layer. Therefore,the corrosion inhibition efficiency of the composite additives is much higher. The battery containing 0.05% CTAB and 0.05% NPEG performs better than the batteries with individual additives, especially at high discharge current rate.
