Abstract
In the present study, a simple, fast, and economical method was introduced to eliminate methylene blue from dye wastewater water using a non-toxic, inexpensive, stable, and efficient adsorbent. The poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/starch hydrogel nanofiber membrane with high surface area and the three-dimensional structure was fabricated in water via electrospinning strategy, and the cross-linking reaction was done by thermal treatment. The characterization of the nanofibers was carried out using Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and the cross-linked PVA/starch nanofiber was applied as a membrane for the removal of methylene blue (MB). The recovery of MB was performed by methanol solution containing 5% (v/v) HCl. Langmuir isotherm model successfully described the adsorption of MB on nanosorbent, and the maximum adsorption capacity (qm) was 400 mg g-1. Also, the kinetic of adsorption was well fitted by the pseudo-second-order model. In this study, because of the high stability of fabricated membrane (based on the tensile testing), it can be used as a filter for the fast separation of MB (cationic dye) and methyl orange (MO, anionic dye). Abstract
Magnetic β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) porous polymer nanospheres (P-MCD) was fabricated by one-pot solvent thermal method using β-CD immobilized Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles with tetrafluoroterephthalonitrile as the monomer. Compared with the β-CD polymerization method reported in the literature,_ENREF_1 the synthetic route is effective and simple, thereby overcoming the harsh conditions that require nitrogen protection and always maintain anhydrous and oxygen-free. Moreover, the immobilization of β-CD on magnetic nanoparticles is combined with the cross-linking polymerization of the cross-linker, leading to a good synergistic effect on the removal of contaminants. Meanwhile, the dispersibility of the magnetic carrier enhances the dispersion of the β-CD porous polymer in the aqueous phase, and improves the inclusion adsorption performance and the adsorption process. P-MCD exhibited superior adsorption capacity and fast kinetics to MB. The maximum adsorption capacity of MB for P-MCD was 305.8 mg g -1, which is more than β-CD modified Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4@β-CD). Moreover, the material had a short equilibrium time (5 min) for MB, high recovery and good recyclability (the adsorption efficiency was still above 86% after five repeated uses).

Abstract
Porous organic polymers (POPs) have attracted significant attention towards molecular adsorption in recent years due to their high porosity, diverse functionality and excellent chemical stability. In this work, we present a systematic case study on the formation of thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole (TzTz) linkages through model compounds and its integration to synthesize a set of three novel, thermo-chemically stable TzTz-linked POPs, namely TzTz-POP-3, TzTz-POP-4, and TzTz-POP-5 with triphenylbenzene, tetraphenylpyrene and tetra(hydroxyphenyl)methane cores, respectively. Interestingly, the integrated TzTz moiety of the represented TzTz-POP-3 renders chemoselective removal of organic dye fluorescein (FL) from a mixture with parafuchsine (FU) in aqueous solution. The TzTz-POP-3 offered excellent chemoselectivity of ≈1:7 (FL:FU), compared to alike porous materials demonstrated for similar applications due to the presence of multiple active anchoring sites coupled with permanent porosity and appropriate pore window.

Abstract
Water-insoluble β-cyclodextrin-based fibers were synthesized by electrospinining followed by thermal cross-linking. The fibers were characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopic (FE-SEM) and Fourier transformed infrared spectrometer (FT-IR). The highly insoluble fraction obtained from different pH values (3-11) indicates successful cross-linking reactions and their usability in aqueous solution. After the cross-linking reaction, the fibers' tensile strength increases significantly and the BET surface area is 19.49 m(2)/g. The cross-linked fibers exhibited high adsorption capacity for cationic dye methylene blue (MB) with good recyclability. The adsorption performance can be fitted well with pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir isotherm model. The maximum adsorption capacity is 826.45 mg/g according to Langmuir fitting. Due to electrostatic repulsion, the fibers show weak adsorption toward negatively charged anionic dye methyl orange (MO). On the basis of the selective adsorption, the fiber membrane can separate the MB/MO mixture solution by dynamic filtration at a high flow rate of 150 mL/min. The fibers can maintain good fibrous morphology and high separation efficiency even after five filtration-regeneration cycles. The obtained results suggested potential applications of β-cyclodextrin-based electrospun fibers in the dye wastewater treatment field.
