Abstract
The composite material, consisting of graphene oxide (GO) and chromium metal-organic frameworks (Cr-MOFs), was successfully synthesized by using a solvothermal method. The organic ligand employed was 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalic acid, while chromium acetate served as the source of the metal. The resulting material underwent characterization through Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction techniques. Subsequently, the adsorption capacity of the composite material toward moxifloxacin was evaluated. The results indicated a gradual increase in the moxifloxacin removal rate from GO/Cr-MOFs over time until reaching an equilibrium with a maximum removal rate of 90.4%. Additionally, it was observed that higher temperatures led to a decrease in the adsorption capacity. By incorporating 30 mg of GO/Cr-MOFs into a solution containing 40 ppm of moxifloxacin, the adsorption capacity could be maximized at 222.25 mg/g. Experimental data on MOF adsorption of moxifloxacin were analyzed using pseudo-first-order kinetics (PFO), pseudo-second-order kinetics (PSO), and Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin isotherm models for theoretical research purposes. Results showed that the PSO model exhibited a better correlation than the PFO model did. Furthermore, experimental data demonstrated good agreement with the Freundlich isothermal model, suggesting its effectiveness in accurately describing the adsorption process. Henceforth, it can be concluded that chemisorption plays a significant role in removing moxifloxacin by GO/Cr-MOFs. The van't Hoff equation analysis revealed an exothermic and spontaneous nature of moxifloxacin adsorption onto GO/Cr-MOFs. Compared to other materials, the GO/Cr-MOF composite exhibited high potential for applications such as drug removal or related fields.

Abstract
In this study, Co/Cd-MOFs were synthesized via a solvothermal method. The resulting material was subjected to calcination at 900 °C for 2 h and characterized using FT-IR, XRD, and SEM techniques to assess its efficacy in moxifloxacin removal. The experimental findings revealed that the maximum adsorption capacity of Co/Cd-MOFs for moxifloxacin was observed at 350.4 mg/g within a 5 h timeframe. Furthermore, the analysis based on the pseudo-second-order kinetic model demonstrated that the adsorption process adhered to this specific model. Additionally, the adsorption isotherm analysis indicated that Freundlich multilayer adsorption provided the best description of the interaction between moxifloxacin and the Co/Cd-MOF material. These experimental and theoretical results collectively suggest that employing Co/Cd-MOFs as adsorbents holds promise for wastewater treatment applications.

Abstract
Wastewater treatment has been bestowed with a plethora of materials; among them, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are one such kind with exceptional properties. Besides their application in gas adsorption and storage, they are applied in many fields. In orientation toward wastewater treatment, MOFs have been and are being successfully employed to capture a variety of aqueous pollutants, including both organic and inorganic ones. This review sheds light on the postsynthetic modifications (PSMs) performed over MOFs to adsorb and degrade recalcitrant. Modifications performed on the metal nodes and the linkers have been explained with reference to some widely used chemical modifications like alkylation, amination, thiol addition, tandem modifications, and coordinate modifications. The boost in pollutant removal efficacy, reaction rate, adsorption capacity, and selectivity for the modified MOFs is highlighted. The rationale and the robustness of micromotor MOFs, i.e., MOFs with motor activity, and their potential application in the capture of toxic pollutants are also presented for readers. This review also discusses the challenges and future recommendations to be considered in performing PSM over a MOF concerning wastewater treatment.

Abstract
Two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with uniform pores and large surface areas are ideal candidates for constructing advanced molecular sieving membranes. However, a fabrication strategy to synthesize a free-standing COF membrane with a high permselectivity has not been fully explored yet. Herein, we prepared a free-standing TpPa-SO3H COF membrane with vertically aligned one-dimensional nanochannels. The introduction of the sulfonic acid groups on the COF membrane provides abundant negative charge sites in its pore wall, which achieve a high water flux and an excellent sieving performance toward water-soluble drugs and dyes with different charges and sizes. Furthermore, the COF membrane exhibited long-term stability, fouling resistance, and recyclability in rejection performance. We envisage that this work provides new insights into the effect of ionic ligands on the design of a broad range of COF membranes for advanced separation applications.

Abstract
Highly effective removal of antibiotics from aqueous solution is of importance while still faces challenge. Herein, we report a novel metal-organic framework (MOF) adsorbent, MOF-808-SIPA (SIPA, 5-sulfoisophthalic acid), constructed via post-synthesis exchange strategy. On the basis, dual active groups including sulfonic acid and carboxyl groups are successfully introduced. The novel MOF-808-SIPA exhibits a high adsorption capacity of 287.1 mg g-1 for moxifloxacin hydrochloride (MOX·HCl), superior to that (174.6 mg g-1) of the pristine MOF-808-AA (AA, acetic acid). Besides, MOF-808-SIPA shows rapid adsorption equilibrium of ∼ 30 min, strong anti-interference ability from pH and inorganic ions, and feasible regeneration. The superiority renders MOF-808-SIPA a potential adsorbent for MOX removal. Density function theory (DFT) calculation and experiment confirm that H-bond interaction contributes largely to the excellent adsorption in MOF-808-SIPA. Our work provides a guideline for designing high-efficiency MOF-based adsorbent.

Abstract
The presence of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in the aquatic environment is causing widespread concern due to their bioaccumulation, toxicity, and possible environmental risk. These contaminants are produced daily in large quantities and released into water bodies. Traditional wastewater treatment plants are ineffective at degrading these pollutants. As a result, the development of long-term and effective POP removal techniques is critical. In water, adsorption removal and photocatalytic degradation of POPs have been identified as energy and cost-efficient solutions. Both technologies have received a lot of attention for their efforts to treat the world's wastewater. Photocatalytic removal of POPs is a promising, effective, and long-lasting method, while adsorption removal of persistent POPs represents a simple, practical method, particularly in decentralized systems and isolated areas. It is critical to develop new adsorbents/photocatalysts with the desired structure, tunable chemistry, and maximum adsorption sites for highly efficient removal of POPs. As a class of recently created multifunctional porous materials, Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) offer tremendous prospects in adsorptive removal and photocatalytic degradation of POPs for water remediation. This review defines POPs and discusses current research on adsorptive and photocatalytic POP removal using emerging MOFs for each type of POPs.

Abstract
The crop loss caused by bacteria has increased year by year due to the lack of effective control agents. In order to develop efficient, broad-spectrum, and structurally simple agricultural bactericide, the structure of piperonylic acid was modified and a series of novel piperonylic acid derivatives containing a sulfonic acid ester moiety was synthesized. Bioassay results indicated the compounds exhibited significantly antibacterial activities. Among them, compound 41 exhibited excellent antibacterial activities against Pseudomonas syringae pv. Actinidiae (Psa), with inhibitory value 99 and 85% at 100 μg/ml and 50 μg/ml, respectively, which was higher than that of thiodiazole-copper (84 and 77%) and bismerthiazol (96 and 78%). In addition, some compounds also showed moderate insecticidal activity against Spodoptera frugiperda. The abovementioned results confirm the broadening of the application of piperonylic acid, with reliable support for the development of novel agrochemical bactericide.

Abstract
Pharmaceutical pollution has emerged as a highly concerned issue due to its adverse effects. Elevated concentrations of pharmaceuticals in water should be regulated to satisfy the requirement for the provision of clean water. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with high specific surface area, controllable porous structure, and facile modification can serve as promising adsorbents for the removal of pharmaceutical contaminants from water. In this review, a selected collection illustrating the reliable strategies and concepts to prepare the MOFs-based materials with superior water stability is described. In addition, recent progress on the adsorptive removal of pharmaceutical pollutant using burgeoning and functional MOFs is also summarized in terms of maximum capacity, equilibrium time, and regenerate ability. Meanwhile, to understand the adsorption mechanism, related interactions including coordination with unsaturated site, pore-filling effect, hydrogen bonding, electrostatic, and π-π stacking are further discussed. Finally, critical perspectives/assessment of future research emphasising on fabricating desirable MOFs and establishing structure-property relationships to facilitate capture performance are identified.

Abstract
Water pollution from antibiotics has attracted a lot of attention for its serious threat to human health. In this study, a magnetic adsorbent (zinc ferrite/activated carbon (ZnFe2O4/AC) was synthesized via microwave method to effectively remove gemifioxacin mesylate (GEM) and moxifloxacin hydrochloride (MOX). Based on the porosity of AC and the magnetism of ZnFe2O4, the resulting ZnFe2O4/AC has high adsorption capacities and can be easily separated from the solid-liquid system via a magnetic field. The largest adsorption capacities for GEM and MOX can reach up to 433.4 mg g-1 and 388.8 mg g-1, respectively, higher than those of reported adsorbents such as MIL-101 and MOF-808. Fastest adsorptions of GEM and MOX were found at 5 min, and solution pH and coexisting salts do not have a significant influence on the adsorption process. The adsorption mechanism analysis indicates that electrostatic interaction and H-bond interaction contribute to the effective adsorption.
