Abstract
This study describes a new and fast method for separating 210Po from 210Pb and 90Sr, before simultaneously measuring the individual activities of the latter two radionuclides using a plastic scintillation resin (PSresin) in sludge samples taken from a drinking water treatment plant. This method speeds up the analysis process significantly by simultaneously measuring 210Pb and 90Sr in a single step. The method is reproducible and has a relative standard deviation of less than 25% for 210Pb, 210Po and 90Sr. The method was satisfactorily validated with an intercomparison sample and applied to sludge samples from a drinking water treatment plant. The minimum detectable activities for 0.9 g of sludge are 5.5 Bq/kg and 8 Bq/kg for 210Pb and 90Sr respectively when measured for 180 min, and 0.5 Bq/kg for 210Po when measured for 5000 min.

Abstract
A simultaneous analytical method for sequential separation and determination of actinides and 90Sr in large-size environmental samples has been developed. In this method, successive co-precipitation steps were firstly conducted to remove matrix elements, then sequential column separation method was applied for simultaneous separation and purification of actinides and 90Sr/90Y. By using vacuum box technology, the total analytical time was minimized and batch processing allowed analyzing 12 samples in four days. The activity of 90Sr was obtained immediately by measuring its daughter radionuclide (90Y) with triple-to-double coincidence ratio (TDCR) Cherenkov counting, while the concentrations of Pu isotopes and 241Am could be measured by alpha spectrometry and mass spectrometric techniques. The overall recoveries of Pu, Am, Sr and Y were higher than 70% for the entire procedure, while the recovery ratios of Sr/Y were between 0.95 and 1.04 before chromatographic separation. The developed method was verified using 20 g and 50 g of environmental soil samples spiked with certified reference materials IAEA-384 or IAEA-385 and standard solution of 90Sr/90Y, and good agreement between the expected values and measured results has been achieved.

Analyzing alpha emitting isotopes of Pu, Am and Cm from NPP water samples: an intercomparison of Nordic radiochemical laboratories. J Radioanal Nucl Chem 2021. Abstract
AbstractRadioanalytical methods for the determination of isotopes of Pu, Am and Cm in water samples from nuclear power plants were compared and further developed in a Nordic project (Optimethod) through two intercomparison exercises among Nordic laboratories. With this intercomparison, the analytical performance of some laboratories was improved by modification of the analytical method and adopting new techniques. The obtained results from the two intercomparisons for alpha emitting transuranium isotopes are presented, and the lessons learnt from these intercomparison exercises are discussed.

Abstract
Method for determination of plutonium isotopes in various environmental samples is presented. The separation and purification of plutonium is attained by extraction chromatography with triisooctylamine - polyethylene resin in nitric and hydrochloric acid media. Plutonium is measured by alpha-particle spectrometry after electrodeposition on a stainless steel disk. The analytical quality was checked by analyzing reference materials with different matrices from IAEA (Soil-6, IAEA-375, IAEA-384, IAEA-414) and NPL (AL-2009, AL-2010, AL-2011, AL-2013, AB-2014). The major advantages of the method are the low cost of the analysis, high radiochemical yields and high decontamination factors from the matrix elements, natural and man-made radionuclides.
