Green synthesis of some 3-(α,α-diarylmethyl)indoles by bio-nanocomposite from embedding L-histidinium trichloroacetate ionic liquid on functionalized magnetite (L-His+CCl3CO2-@PEG@SiO2-nano Fe3O4)

Nano silicated-FeAl2O4 functionalized by DL-alaninium nitrate ionic liquid (FeAl2O4-SiO2@[DL-Ala][NO3]) as versatile promotor for aqua-mediated synthesis of spiro[chromenopyrazole-indene-triones and spiro[chromenopyrazole-indoline-diones

In this work, the spinel FeAl2O4 was prepared and functionalized step-by-step with silica and alaninium nitrate ionic liquid ([DL-Ala][NO3]) to produce a bio-based multi-layered nanostructure (nano FeAl2O4-SiO2@[DL-Ala][NO3]). The obtained magnetized inorganic-bioorganic nanohybrid characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis/differential scanning calorimetry (TGA/DSC), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and X-Ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. A facile synthesis of some tricyclic dihydro-spiro[chromeno[2,3-c]pyrazole-4,2'-indene]triones and dihydro-spiro[chromeno[2,3-c]pyrazole-4,3'-indoline]diones via domino four-component one-pot reaction of various hydrazine derivatives, ethyl acetoacetate, heterocyclic 1,2-ketones (ninhydrin, isatin, 5-bromoisatin) and cyclic 1,3-diketones (dimedone and 1,3-cyclohexanedine), examined in the presence of nano FeAl2O4-SiO2@[DL-Ala][NO3] nanohybrid in refluxing aqueous media, successfully. The multi-aspect characteristics of the nanohybrid which consist of magnetized inorganic and bioorganic parts, could be the reason of its special catalytic efficacy. The recovery and reusability of the FeAl2O4-SiO2@[DL-Ala][NO3] magnetized nanoparticles (MNPs) were performed in two runs without significant activity loss.

Metal-bio functionalized bismuthmagnetite [Fe3-x Bi x O4/SiO2@l-ArgEt3 +I-/Zn(ii)]: a novel bionanocomposite for the synthesis of 1,2,4,5-tetrahydro-2,4-dioxobenzo[b][1,4]diazepine malononitriles and malonamides at room temperature and under sonication

In this work, a new magnetized composite of bismuth (Fe_3−xBi_xO₄) was prepared and functionalized stepwise with silica, triethylargininium iodide ionic liquid, and Zn(ii) to prepare a multi-layered core–shell bio-nanostructure, [Fe_3−xBi_xO₄/SiO₂@l-ArgEt₃⁺I⁻/Zn(ii)]. The modified bismuth magnetic amino acid-containing nanocomposite was characterized using several techniques including Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX), thermogravimetric/differential scanning calorimetric (TGA/DSC) analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), and inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The magnetized bionanocomposite exhibited high catalytic activity for the synthesis of 1,2,4,5-tetrahydro-2,4-dioxobenzo[b][1,4]diazepine malononitriles via five-component reactions between 1,2-phenylenediamines, Meldrum's acid, malononitrile, aldehydes, and isocyanides at room temperature in ethanol. The efficacy of this protocol was also examined to obtain malonamide derivatives via pseudo six-component reactions of 1,4-phenylenediamine, Meldrum's acid, malononitrile, aldehydes, and isocyanides. When the above-mentioned MCRs were repeated under the same conditions with the application of sonication, a notable decrease in the reaction time was observed. The recovery and reusability of the metal-bio functionalized bismuthmagnetite were examined successfully in 3 runs. Furthermore, the characteristics of the recovered Fe_3−xBi_xO₄/SiO₂@l-ArgEt₃⁺I⁻/Zn(ii) were investigated though FESEM and EDAX analysis.

Green novel multicomponent synthesis and biological evaluation of new oxazolopyrazoloazepines and reduction of nitrophenols in the presence of Ag/Fe3O4/ZnO@MWCNT MNCs

In this research, new derivatives of oxazolopyrazoloazepines were synthesized in high yields using multicomponent reaction of anilines, oxalylchloride, alkyl bromides, activated acetylenic compounds, hydrazine and ethyl bromopyruvate in the presence of Ag/Fe₃O₄/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposite (MNCs) as a high-performance magnetic catalyst in ionic liquid at room temperature. The Ag/Fe₃O₄/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposites (MNCs) were synthesized using 1-octhyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide ([OMIM]Br) as a stabilizer and soft template. Also, the catalytic activity of the Ag/Fe₃O₄/ZnO@MWCNT MNCs was evaluated in reduction of organic pollutants such as 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) in water at mild conditions. The results indicated that the biosynthesized nanocomposites (NCs) have high catalytic activity for organic pollutants within few seconds. Because of having benzazepine nucleus in the synthesized compounds, we investigate antioxidant property of some synthesized oxazolopyrazoloazepines by diphenyl-picrylhydrazine radical trapping and power of ferric reduction experiment. Short time of reaction, high yields of product, easy separation of catalyst and products are some advantages of this procedure.

Recent developments in green approaches for sustainable synthesis of indole-derived scaffolds

An important issue to discover biological structures is the design of sustainable, safe, clean, cost-effective, excellent efficient synthetic reactions, and minimal energy consumption to provide structural diversity compounds with interesting biological properties. Among five-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds, indole-containing scaffolds are heterocyclic structures found in abundance in natural products and various synthetic compounds, which have received remarkable attention in recent years due to their therapeutic and pharmaceutical properties and valuable role in the process of drug discovery. Indoles can be synthesized by various procedures although most of these procedures have their own restrictions and drawbacks such as performing the reaction in a toxic solvent, need of transition-metal catalysts, and amount of waste solvents. Due to the medicinal importance of indole and the need for green methods of drug synthesis, this review highlights the latest green synthetic methods leading to the formation of indole-containing compounds focusing on the past 4 years with typical examples. This review is divided into two sections: green solvents and green techniques that lead to the synthesis of indole-derived scaffolds.

Application of polyionic magnetic nanoparticles as a catalyst for the synthesis of carbonitriles with both indole and triazole moieties via a cooperative geminal-vinylogous anomeric-based oxidation

Three-component reaction of aldehydes with 3-(1H-indol-3-yl)-3-oxopropanenitrile and 1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine under the solvent-free condition at 70 °C was effectively performed in the presence of 2 mg of polyionic magnetic nanoparticles with pyrazine bridge [Fe₃O₄@SiO₂@(CH₂)₃]₂-Pyrazinium-[TCM]₂ as a catalyst for the synthesis of 7-aryl-5-(1H-indol-3-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carbonitriles via a cooperative anomeric-based oxidation. The polyionic magnetic nanoparticles catalyst was simply recovered and reused four successive runs. The morphology and structure of MNPs catalyst were investigated by numerous techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, EDX, WDX, FE-SEM, TEM, TGA, DTA, and VSM. The obtained products are reported for the first time that were identified by various analyses techniques such as melting point, FT-IR, ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, and elemental analysis (CHN). A term entitled a cooperative geminal-vinylogous anomeric-based oxidation was introduced for the latter step of the reaction mechanism for the first time. Synthesis of 7-aryl-5-(1H-indol-3-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carbonitriles by using [Fe₃O₄@SiO₂@(CH₂)₃]₂-Pyrazinium-[TCM]₂ MNPs as a catalyst.
