Abstract
Here, we report a simple, efficient, and green protocol for the one-pot synthesis of pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives via a sequential three-component strategy using aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and pyrazolin-5-one in a water-SDS-ionic liquid system. This is a base and volatile organic solvent-free approach that could be applicable to a wide substrate scope. The key advantages of the method over other established protocols are very high yield, eco-friendly conditions, chromatography-free purification and recyclability of the reaction medium. Our study revealed that the N-substituent present in pyrazolinone controls the selectivity of the process. N-unsubstituted pyrazolinone favours the formation of 2,4-dihydro pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles whereas under identical conditions N-phenyl substituent pyrazolinone favours the formation 1,4-dihydro pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles. Structures of the synthesized products were established by NMR and X-ray diffraction techniques. Energy optimized structures and energy gaps between the HOMO-LUMO of some selected compounds were estimated using density functional theory to explain the extra stability of the 2,4-dihydro pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles over 1,4-dihydro pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles.

Abstract
Pyrazole and its derivatives are considered a privileged N-heterocycle with immense therapeutic potential. Over the last few decades, the pot, atom, and step economy (PASE) synthesis of pyrazole derivatives by multicomponent reactions (MCRs) has gained increasing popularity in pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry. The present review summarizes the recent developments of multicomponent reactions for the synthesis of biologically active molecules containing the pyrazole moiety. Particularly, it covers the articles published from 2015 to date related to antibacterial, anticancer, antifungal, antioxidant, α-glucosidase and α-amylase inhibitory, anti-inflammatory, antimycobacterial, antimalarial, and miscellaneous activities of pyrazole derivatives obtained exclusively via an MCR. The reported analytical and activity data, plausible synthetic mechanisms, and molecular docking simulations are organized in concise tables, schemes, and figures to facilitate comparison and underscore the key points of this review. We hope that this review will be helpful in the quest for developing more biologically active molecules and marketed drugs containing the pyrazole moiety.

Abstract
Abstract:
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs), also referred to as low transition temperature mixtures (LTTMs), have emerged as sustainable and cheap alternatives to conventional organic solvents in organic synthesis. This is attributed to their exceptional characteristics viz. easy preparation with readily available cheap materials, water compatibility, non-flammability, non-toxicity, biocompatibility, biodegradability, etc. All these properties label them as versatile and cost-effective green solvents. The first reported DES, choline chloride urea mixture has appeared as an innocuous solvent and catalyst in many organic transformations. This prospective DES combination has been applied extensively to the synthesis of a wide range of heterocyclic compounds including quinolones, spirooxindoles, etc. The conditions employed are relatively mild and do not require additional acid catalysts or organic solvents. This eco-friendly blend for the synthesis of heterocycles reports excellent yields of products with shorter reaction times and a simple workup procedure. Evaluating these merits, this review focuses on the recent literature published on the use of choline chlorine-based DESs in the synthesis of a few important heterocyclic compounds.

Abstract
Background:
Many pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives display diverse biological activities and some of them are known as anticancer, analgesic, anticonvulsant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-malarial agents. In recent years, easy convergent, multicomponent reactions (MCRs) have been adopted to make highly functionalizedpyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives of biological interest. The synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole (1,4-DHPP, 2), 2,4-dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole (2,4-DHPP, 3), 4-hydroxypyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole (4-HPP, 4) derivatives, 1,4,4-substitied pyranopyrazole (SPP, 5) were reported via two-, three-, four- and five-component reactions (MCRs).
Methods:
This review article compiles the preparation of pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives, and it highlights the applications of various pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives in medicinal chemistry.
Results:
Varieties of pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives were achieved via “One-pot” multicomponent reactions (MCRs). Different reaction conditions in the presence of a catalyst or without catalysts were adapted to prepare the pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives.
Conclusion:
Biologically active pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives were prepared and used in drug discovery research.

Abstract
An axisymmetric polynitro-pyrazole molecule, 3,5-di(3,5-dinitropyrazol-4-yl)]-4-nitro-1H-pyrazole (5), and its salts (6-12) were prepared and fully characterized. These compounds not only show promising energetic properties but also show a unique tautomeric switch via combining different cations with the axisymmetric compound (5). Its salts (6-9) remain axisymmetric when the cations are potassium, ammonium, or amino-1,2,4-triazolium. However, when the cations are guanidiums, the salts (10-12) dramatically become asymmetric owing to the fixed proton. The introduction of guanidium cations breaks the tautomeric equilibrium by blocking the prototropic transformations and results in the switch-off effect to tautomerism. The structural constraints of 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectra provide strong evidence for the unusual structural constraint phenomenon. These stabilized asymmetric tautomers are very important from the point of molecular recognition, and this research may promote further developments in synthetic and isolation methodologies for novel bioactive pyrazole-based compounds.
