Abstract
The neurotransmitter histamine exists in two isomeric forms and could be an interesting ligand due to three nitrogen atoms with the possibility of binding to metals in different ways besides its crucial role in biological systems. However, no metal-histamine interaction is known in the literature. Therefore, two histamine-bound magnesium porphyrins [MgT(4-Cl)PP(hist)2] 1 and [MgT(4-Br)PP(hist)] 2 have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Interestingly, 1 is a hexa-coordinated magnesium porphyrin due to the axial coordination of two histamine molecules via the nitrogen of the aliphatic amino group with the Mg-Nhistamine distance of 2.300 Å, while 2 is penta-coordinated due to the axial coordination of one histamine molecule through the imidazole nitrogen atom with the Mg-Nhistamine distance of 2.145 Å. The diverse coordination modes of this unique ligand are explored for the first time. Theoretical studies at the level of DFT supported the binding of histamine via imidazole nitrogen atoms for complex 2. Histamine-bound magnesium porphyrins are found to be stable against the photodegradation of magnesium porphyrin in the presence of light and oxygen. Freshly isolated chlorophyll a from spinach showed similar resistivity against photodegradation. Moreover, the histamine-bound complexes showed higher antioxidant activity for 1 (92.45%) compared to the free base porphyrin (73.11%) and MgT(4-Cl)PP (75.89%).

Abstract
Three new hybrid metal-polymer-coordinated complexes (MPCs) of copper(II), cobalt(II), and nickel(II) ions with an organic polymer derived from gallic acid and ethylenediamine (GAEtH) were synthesized. The structures of GAEtH and MPCs were characterized with FT-IR, ultraviolet (UV)-Vis, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, and elemental and thermogravimetric analysis. The results reveal that the organic polymer GAEtH exhibits an infinite one-dimensional chain structure, while the hybrid MPCs have a double chain structure, with the two chains joined by metal ions. The thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of the thermal degradation stages were determined by the Coats Redfern method, and the photocatalytic behaviors of the MPCs were investigated through the decomposition of methyl orange dye under UV irradiation.

Abstract
While supramolecular chemistry involving organic and metallo-organic host assemblies is a well-established and important field with applications in gas-storage, drug-delivery and the regio- and stereo-control of organic reactions, the use of main group elements in this setting (beyond the second row of the p-block) has been little explored. In this paper we show how periodic trends in the p-block can provide the means for systematic size and structural control in an important class of supramolecular porphyrin-based capsules. The formation of molecular and extended 2D capsule arrangements between the heavier Group 15 tris(3-pyridyl) linkers Sb(3-py)3 and Bi(3-py)3 and the metallo-porphyrins MTPP (M = Zn, Mg; TPP = tetraphenylporphyrin, 3-py = 3-pyridyl) is the first study involving heavier Group 15 pyridyl linkers. The increase in C-E bond length in the E(3-py)3 linkers moving down Group 15 (from E = P, to Sb, to Bi) can be used to alter the dimensions and structural preference of the capsules, as can oxidation of the Group 15 bridgehead atoms themselves. The subtle changes in the dimensions and Lewis acidity of the encapsulates have a dramatic effect on the rate and selectivity of the catalytic oxidative cleavage of organic diols and catalytic oxidation of α-hydroxyketones. By providing simple tools for modulating the chemical and steric properties of the capsules this work should have direct applications for the tuning of the activity and specificity of a range of catalytic systems based on main-group-based capsules of this type.

Abstract
A new carbazole chromophore conjugated with substituted thiazolidine-4-one (CzPT) was synthesized by applying the Knoevenagel reaction between 3,6-diformyl-N-hexylcarbazole and ethyl 2-aceto-2-(5-oxo-3-phenylthiazolidin-2-ylidene)acetate. The chemical structure of the new derivative (CzPT) was elucidated by spectral studies. The CzPT absorption spectra in different solvents exhibited a red shift for λmax by increasing solvent polarity. Bands at 430-474 nm appeared and were attributed to intramolecular charge transfer with high π-π* characteristics. CzPT fluorescence spectra exhibited a red shift after increasing the solvent polarity. To understand the Stokes' shift ( ∆ ν ¯ ) behaviour of the CzPT derivative referring to the polarity of solvents, Lippert-Mataga and linear solvation-energy relationship (LSER) models were employed in which the LSER exhibited respectable results compared with Lippert-Mataga (r2 = 0.9707). Moreover, time-dependent density functional theory absorption spectra in hexane and dimethylformamide showed that λmax had a major contribution in the highest occupied molecular orbital to lowest unoccupied molecular orbital transition in both solvents. In addition, the reduced uniformity of crystal features may lead to dislocation or anomalous arrangement of crystals with irregular spacing, which automatically enhances the optical properties of such crystals.

Abstract
The current study determines optical and fluorescence response of halogen substituted series of meso‑tetrakis‑(4‑halophenyl) porphyrin; H2TXPP (Halo = F, Cl, Br, I) dye in tetrahydrofuran; THF and THF-water system at changing pH in relationship with changing medium of allure. Effects produced by varying the pH and medium, over spectral and aggregation were discussed in detail. Results show sequential protonation and deprotonation of H2TXPP series in acidic (pH = 4) and (pH =10) basic medium. Specific structural changes of monomeric absorption band were put in evidence on lowering pH, which includes broadening and splitting of soret or B band. Other changes include increasing in intensity and red-shifting of Q1 band indicating some degree of aggregation. The side-by-side aggregation and formation of J-aggregate were quite evident. The red shift of B band featured self-aggregation through head-to-tail molecular ordering which is consonant with absorption-emission data.

Abstract
Two simple and reliable correlations are introduced for the prediction of emission and absorption of porphyrins and their derivatives, i.e. metalloporphyrins and ligand coordinated metalloporphyrins. They can be used to sense the extracted precious metals. The proposed models require only simple structural parameters such as the number of carbon, metal and metal-free molecular fragments of desirable porphyrins or their derivatives. Since the proposed models depend on molecular structures of the desired compounds, they can be easily applied for complex molecular structures. Experimental data of 272 porphyrin derivatives were used to derive and test the novel models for the assessment of their emission (Em.) and absorption (Abs.) values in three solvents namely dichloromethane, toluene and chloroform. The values of the coefficients of determination (r 2) for the training set (183 compounds) in dichloromethane and three different test sets, corresponding to the three mentioned solvents, for the emission and absorption correlations were greater than 0.70. The calculated values of the root-mean-square error (RMSE) for the training sets of Em. and Abs. correlations were equal to 7.56 and 4.86 nm, respectively. Further statistical parameters also confirm the high reliability of the new models.
