Abstract
Herein, we report synthesis, characterization, antimicrobial and antimalarial activities of azines Schiff base ligands (L1 -L4 ) and their palladium (II) complexes (C1 -C4 ) of [Pd(L)(OAc)2 ] type. The azine ligands (L1 -L4 ) were prepared by condensation of carbonyl compounds with hydrazine hydrate and their complexes by the reaction of palladium acetate with L1 -L4 ligands in 1 : 1 molar ratio. The prepared ligands and their complexes were characterized by spectral characterization using 1 H &13 C-NMR, FT-IR and mass spectral studies, which revealed that the ligands coordinates via azomethine nitrogen and heteroatom or aryl carbon with palladium. Moreover, Schiff bases and their palladium (II) complexes have been screened for their antibacterial (S. aureus, B. subtillis, and S. typhi, P. aeruginosa), antifungal (C. albicans, A. niger, and A. clavatus) and antimalarial (P. falciparum) activities. The Schiff base L4 showed good results for antibacterial against S. aureus (MIC, 50 μg/mL) and antimalarial against P. falciparum (IC50 , 0.83 μg/mL). The complex C1 showed best antibacterial activity (MIC, 62.5 μg/mL) against S. typhi and the complex C4 exhibited remarkable antimalarial activity (IC50 , 0.42 μg/mL) among the tested compounds. Thus, azines based ligands and their Pd complexes can be good antimicrobial and antimalarial agents if explored further.

Abstract
This work entails deep red emitting EuIII based complexes with a variety of ternary β-diketonate ligands and 1,10-phenanthroline as the ancillary ligand in the system. The solid state structure and spectroscopic analysis has been outlaid in terms of photoluminescence and crystallography. A luminescence quantum efficiency of 50% was obtained for the [tris-(4,4,4-trifluoro-1-chlorophenyl-butanedione)mono-(1,10-phenanthroline)europium(iii)] complexes. Moreover, complexes [tris-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-heptanedione)mono-(1,10-phenanthroline) europium(iii)] and {[hexa-(benzyl carboxylic acid) bis-(1,10-phenanthroline)di-europium(iii)]-μ-[κ2-O,O'-(benzyl carboxylic acid)]2} were found to also have quantum yields of 9% and 28% with respective sensitization efficiencies of 85%, 15% and 58%. These results were articulated with crystallographic details pertaining to the nature of coordination and the effect of steric and electronic properties thereof which somewhat impacts the Eu-N bond distances. A symmetry correlation was drawn between the crystallographic data and the photoluminescence data.

Abstract
The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ni(C14H11FNO)2], contains one-half of the mol-ecule with the Ni(II) cation lying on an inversion centre coordinated by a bidentate Schiff base anion. The cationic Ni(II) center is in a distorted square-planar coordination environment chelated by the imine N and phenolate O donor atoms of the two Schiff base ligands. The N and O donor atoms of the two ligands are mutually trans with Ni-N and Ni-O bond lengths of 1.9242 (10) and 1.8336 (9) Å, respectively. The fluoro-phenyl ring is almost orthogonal to the coordination plane and makes a dihedral angle of 82.98 (7)° with the phenolate ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into screw chains by weak C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. Additional C-H⋯π contacts arrange the mol-ecules into sheets parallel to the ac plane.

Abstract
In the title Schiff base molecule, C13H9ClFNO, the benzene rings are twisted slightly with respect to each other, making a dihedral angle of 7.92 (2)°. An intramolecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, an infinite chain is formed along the c-axis direction by π–π stacking interactions between the phenyl rings and the six-membered hydrogen-bonded ring of neighboring Schiff base ligands [centroid–centroid distances of 3.698 (2) and 3.660 (3) Å]. Neighboring chains are linked into a three-dimensional supramolecular structure by C—H⋯O and C—H⋯F hydrogen bonds.

Abstract
Palladium-Schiff-base functionalized porous methyl methacrylate-glycidyl methacrylate copolymer monoliths can be used for Suzuki–Miyaura reaction of aryl halides in water under aerobic conditions, giving biphenyl products with very high yield and the catalyst can be reused for several reaction cycles without significant loss in its activity.

Abstract
Two new metal complexes involving Schiff base ligands, namely, [Pd(L1)2] (1) and [Zn(L2)2] (2), [HL1: 2,4-dibromo-6-((E)-(mesitylimino)methyl)phenol and HL2: 2-((E)-(2,6-diisopropylphenylimino)methyl)-4,6-dibromophenol], have been solvothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR-spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both 1 and 2 are mononuclear cyclometalated complexes with square planar and tetrahedral coordination geometry, respectively. 1 and 2 display photoluminescence in the solid state at 298 K (fluorescence lifetimes τ = 5.521 μs at 508 nm for 1; τ = 3.697 μs at 506 nm for 2). These Schiff base ligands and their metal complexes have been screened for antibacterial activity against several bacteria strains, and the results are compared with the activity of penicillin. Moreover, the Suzuki reaction of 4-bromoanisole with phenylboronic acid by 1 has also been studied.
