Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE Robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (PLAR) seems to improve functional outcomes, however there is not a consensus of a standard procedure. The aim of this study was to identify the PLAR "state of art" in Catalonia, Spain. MATERIAL AND METHODS This was a cross-sectional survey-based study conducted among urologists across Catalonia, Spain. The survey was distributed through online platforms and the professional urology society. All statistical analyses were performed using Stata software, v20. RESULTS 59 urologists completed the survey, revealing PLAR as the most commonly used technique (79.7%). Most urologist (70%) create the pneumoperitoneum using a controlled incision with direct access and 78.3% use the Airseal technology. The intraperitoneal approach is performed in >90% of cases. Endopelvic fascia preservation is not routinely performed. 34.5% of the survey not perform the dorsal vein complex suture. All preserves the bladder neck when oncologically safe. Nerve-vascular bundles bleeding control is performed using standard coagulation or suturing. 34% performed posterior reconstruction. Only use hemostatic devices when evident bleeding and 70% does not routinely left a drainage. Multivariable analysis showed that center volume had a significant independent association with dorsal venous complex suturing (OR 0.073, 95%CI 0.07-0.826), nerve-vascular bundles suturing hemostasis (OR 11.67, 95%CI 1.07-127.60) and endopelvic fascia preservation (OR 13.64, 95%CI 1.087-201.27), but there was no correlation with time the bladder catheter or days hospitalized. CONCLUSIONS The study provides an overview of the state of PLAR in Catalonia, Spain, showing significant variability and reflecting a commitment to advancing surgical technology and patient care.

Impact of human placental derivative allografts on functional and oncological outcomes after radical prostatectomy: a literature review. J Robot Surg 2022; 17:265-273. Abstract
Post radical prostatectomy (RP) erectile dysfunction and incontinence impacts quality of life for patients. In an objective to hasten the recovery of these functional outcomes, human placental derived allografts laid on neurovascular bundles (NVB) have been investigated. These grafts include amniotic membranes (AM) chorionic membranes (CM) or umbilical cord (UC) allografts. A literature review performed using the MeSH terms "AMNION" OR "CHORION" OR "AMNIOTIC MEMBRANE" OR "UMBILICAL CORD" AND "PROSTATE CANCER" from no specified start date, to April 2022. 163 articles were retrieved, with 149 articles excluded. 14 articles were eligible and analysed. 5 articles were included in this review for an analysis on comparative outcomes. The average return to potency was statistically significant in the intervention groups. Positive surgical margin (PSM) rates showed a higher rate in the control groups. BCR was observed at a lower rate in the interventional group. This review reveals a benefit from human placental allograft's ability to hasten post RP functional recovery, without impacting oncological control.

Abstract
Aims: To compare the 30-day postoperative complications of robotic radical cystectomy (RRC) vs open radical cystectomy (ORC) in obese patients (body mass index ≥30) with bladder cancer (BC). Methods: The National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database was queried to identify obese BC patients who underwent RRC or ORC between 2005 and 2016. Patient demographics, postoperative mortality rate, morbidity, operating time (OPTIME), length of stay (LOS), readmission, and reoperation rates were recorded and compared between the two groups. Each RRC patient was matched with three ORC patients using a propensity score approach. Results: Four hundred forty-two RRC patients were matched with 1326 ORC patients. No difference in early postoperative mortality rate between RRC and ORC (0.7% vs 1.3%, relative risk, RR [95% confidence interval CI]: 0.27 [0.07-1.02]). Compared with ORC, the RRC group showed shorter mean OPTIME (364.7 [standard deviation, SD = 133.4] vs 387.8 [SD = 129.7] minutes, p = 0.001) and mean LOS (7.1 [SD = 5.6] vs 10.6 [SD = 6.6] days, p < 0.001). Compared with ORC, the RR of developing the following events in RRC group was lower: 30-day postoperative any complication (45%), any wound occurrence (64%), blood transfusion (70%), superficial surgical-site infection (78%), and wound disruption (77%). There was no difference in the RR of any-cause readmission (RR [95% CI]: 0.77 [0.57-1.05]) and reoperation (RR [95% CI]: 0.48 [0.22-1.04]) between the two groups. Conclusions: The study revealed that RRC for obese BC patients is associated with shorter OPTIME, shorter LOS, and lower risk of early postoperative complications when compared with a matched group of patients who received ORC. In addition, no difference in early postoperative mortality rate between RRC and ORC was observed.

Abstract
Nerve-sparing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy has decreased the post-surgical complications of prostate surgery, but has not eliminated it. The ability to view the microstructure will enable better surgical decisions and lead to better post-surgical outcomes. An ideal imaging modality should provide rapid image acquisition, be low cost, and be specific to the tissue being examined. This article aims to review the current literature to compare three main techniques: multiphoton microscopy (MPM), optical coherence tomography, and confocal microscopy, to see which of these techniques may be best applied in surgical procedures in the future. Embase and Medline were used as the primary databases. Combinations of various key words were used while researching the literature. These included: "Radical prostatectomy," "nerve-sparing," "nerve mapping," "multiphoton microscopy," "Confocal microscopy," and "Optical Coherence Tomography." Thereafter, the relevant results were selected and used in the review. Although optical coherence tomography is a low cost and compact modality, it lacks cellular resolution, while confocal microscopy offers great cellular resolution but lacks depth. MPM, on the other hand, provides sufficient depth and produces high-resolution images. The limitation of MPM is its lack of portability, however the advent of dual-modality MPM may be a way forward.
