Abstract
The establishment of an efficient method for the analysis of drug residues in animal urine facilitates the real-time monitoring of drugs used in the production of animal-derived food. A modified QuEChERS extraction-liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was established for the determination of 47 banned drug and related chemical residues in livestock urine. The sample was extracted with acetonitrile by converting the acid-base environment. The sample cleanup effects of seven solid phase extraction cartridges and two EMR-Lipid products were compared, and three materials, including graphitized carboxyl multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), PSA, and C18, were selected as QuEChERS adsorbents from 24 materials. All analytes showed good linearity, with correlation coefficients (R2) greater than 0.9936. Low limits of quantification could be obtained, ranging from 0.2 to 5.5 ng/mL. The average recoveries at low, medium, and high spiked levels were in the range of 70.8-114.9 %, with intra-day precision ranging from 2.4 % to 11.2 % and inter-day precision ranging from 4.5 % to 16.1 %. Swine urine and bovine urine samples collected from different farms were effectively analyzed using the developed method, and metronidazole was detected in three swine urine samples.

Abstract
Pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) include a wide range of drugs, personal care products and household chemicals that are produced and used in significant quantities. The safety of PPCPs has become a growing concern in recent decades due to their ubiquitous presence in the environment and potential risks to human health. PPCPs have been detected in various human biological samples, including those from children and adolescents, at concentrations ranging from several ng/L to several thousand μg/L. Epidemiological studies have shown associations between exposure to PPCPs and changes in the timing of puberty in children and adolescents. Animal studies have shown that exposure to PPCPs results in advanced or delayed pubertal onset. Mechanisms by which PPCPs regulate pubertal development include alteration of the hypothalamic kisspeptin and GnRH networks, disruption of steroid hormones, and modulation of metabolic function and epigenetics. Gaps in knowledge and further research needs include the assessment of environmental exposure to pharmaceuticals in children and adolescents, low-dose and long-term effects of exposure to PPCPs, and the modes of action of PPCPs on pubertal development. In summary, this comprehensive review examines the potential effects of exposure to PPCPs on pubertal development based on evidence from human and animal studies.

Abstract
Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) widely exist in people's production and life which have great potential to damage human and animal health. Over the past few decades, growing attention has been paid to the impact of EDCs on human health, as well as immune system. So far, researchers have proved that EDCs (such as bisphenol A (BPA), phthalate, tetrachlorodibenzodioxin (TCDD), etc.) affect human immune function and promotes the occurrence and development of autoimmune diseases (ADs). Therefore, in order to better understand how EDCs affect ADs, we summarized the current knowledge about the impact of EDCs on ADs, and elaborated the potential mechanism of the impact of EDCs on ADs in this review.

Abstract
The endocrine-disrupting activities of UV filters and synthetic progestin have raised concerns about their adverse risks. In this study, 208 urine samples were collected from Shanghai residents for the determination of seven benzophenones (BPs) and six synthetic progestins. The highest median concentration (6.21ng g-1 Cr) was observed in young adults (21-50 years), followed by a concentration of 3.86 ng g-1 Cr in elderly adults (over 50 years old), and the lowest median concentration (1.32 ng g-1 Cr) was found in children (8-11 years old). The detection rates of BP-3 and EE2 in adults were 97% and 82%, and in children were 31% and 24%, respectively. Synthetic progestin levels in Shanghai, China, were relatively low compared to other countries. And the urinary BPs level showed an increasing trend in Chinese in the past 5 years. The principal component analysis suggested that adults' exposure to BP-1 and BP-3 was related, which occurs through food or dermal absorption of these chemicals present in cosmetic products and coatings. And diet was an important exposure pathway for children exposed to BPs. Despite relatively high levels of synthetic progestin for female and obese, the total estimated daily intake (EDI) was still lower than acceptable daily intake adopted by America. In the Monte-Carlo analysis, the 95th percentile of hazard quotients (HQs) was 0.83, which indicated that potential health risks were appreciated in the studied population.

Abstract
An ultrasensitive indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ic ELISA) using monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) was developed for the specific detection of diethylstilbestrol (DES) residues. To establish an ELISA based on mAbs, hapten diethylstilbestrol mono-carboxypropyl-ether (DES-MCPE) was chemically synthetized and then conjugated to bovine serum albumin (BSA) for immunization in mice. This ic ELISA was further optimized for DES determination. The sensitivity of the ic ELISA was found to be 0.49 μg/kg and the limit of detection was 0.075 μg/kg. DES residues in salmon meat and pork were tested with the recovery range from 74.0 to 85.2% and the coefficient of variation (CV) was less than 10%. Parallel analysis of DES samples from salmon meat showed comparable results from the ic ELISA with high-performance liquid chromatography. The ic ELISA provides a useful screening method for the quantitative detection of DES residues in animal-derived food.

Abstract
Over the past few years, there has been a lack of progress in the quality of diethylstilbestrol (DES) antibodies used in immunoassay. In this study, a new immunizing hapten was designed for remarkably sensitive and specific antibody generation against diethylstilbestrol. By introducing a benzene ring instead of the traditional linear chain alkane as the hapten spacer, a more specific immune reaction was induced in the process of immunization. The developed polyclonal antibodies were characterized using the indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (icELISA). Under optimized conditions, the half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of the best polyclonal antibody was 0.14 ng/mL and it displayed low cross-reactions (CRs) with the structural analogs such as hexestrol (HEX) and dienestrol (DI). The molecular modeling and quantum chemical computation revealed that the lowest CR of the DES antibody to DI was mainly due to the huge three-dimensional conformational difference between DES and DI. Finally, a highly sensitive icELISA method based on the polyclonal antibody was developed for the determination of DES in shrimp tissue. The limit of detection (LOD) was as low as 0.2 μg/kg in shrimp and the recoveries in the spiked samples ranged from 83.4 to 90.8% with the coefficient of variation less than 13.8%. These results indicated that the use of an aromatic ring as the immunizing hapten spacer arm could be a potential strategy for the enhancement of anti-DES antibody sensitivity, and the established icELISA was applicable to the trace detection of DES in shrimp. Abstract
This study was aimed at determining whether dienestrol (DIES) affects reproduction in male offspring of rats following oral maternal exposure during gestation and lactation. Pregnant rats were treated from GD 6 to PND 21. Animals received 0 (control-vehicle), 0.75, 1.5, 3.12, 6.25, 12.5, 50, 75 μg/kg bw/d of DIES. A control group -without vehicle-was also included. High DIES concentrations caused abortions at 75 and 50 μg/kg bw/d, while at 12.5 μg/kg bw/d had still miscarriages. Ten male rats per group were kept alive until PND 90 to ensure sexual maturity. Body and organ weights, anogenital distance (AGD) at PNDs 21 and 90, biochemical and sperm parameters like motility, viability, morphology, spermatozoa and resistant spermatid counts, and histopathology for sexual organs and liver were determined. An increase in organ weight (liver and sexual organs) and a decrease in AGD due to vehicle were found. A reduction of sperm motility and viability, and an increase of abnormal sperm morphology were caused by DIES, which provoked a dose-dependent prostatitis. Maternal exposure to DIES induced toxicity on the reproductive system of the male offspring, which could affect the capacity of fertilization.
