Abstract
We investigated the structural features of arterial blood vessels in yak uterine caruncle and the effects of the expression of vascular regulation-related factors on angiogenesis in pregnant and non-pregnant yak uterus. Three-dimensional specimens of the uterine artery of non-pregnant and pregnant yaks were produced to observe and measure the distribution characteristics and number of arterial vessels in the uterus and caruncle in the two periods. The uterine caruncle structure was observed and analyzed by hematoxylin-eosin staining. The expression features of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) in the uterine caruncle were detected with immunohistochemistry, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), and western blotting. The length and number of blood vessels in the caruncle were increased, the degree of curvature was decreased, and the folding was more complicated during pregnancy as compared with that during non-pregnancy. The immunohistochemical results demonstrated that VEGF and Ang-1 were mainly expressed strongly in the mucosal epithelial cytoplasm. The glandular lumen of the uterine gland, lymphocytes, and the media and adventitia of blood vessels are widely distributed, and they are all positive. VEGF and Ang-1 mRNA and protein levels were highest in pregnancy, followed by that in the luteal phase and in the follicular phase, and three stages were significantly different (p < 0.05). These findings provide an anatomical reference and theoretical basis for improving the diagnosis and treatment of yak reproductive disorders and other diseases in high-altitude and low-oxygen environments.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Isolated aortic brachiocephalic artery (IABA) is a rare congenital aortic arch anomaly. It is difficult to diagnose IABA prenatally and the prevalence in the prenatal population is unknown. PURPOSE To evaluate the echocardiographic characteristics and associations in fetuses with IABA. MATERIAL AND METHODS We retrospectively analyzed all cases of prenatal diagnosis of IABA from January 2012 to November 2020 and reviewed the follow-up results. Copy Number Variation Sequencing (CNV-Seq) was performed using the biological specimens of the of the fetuses and family members. RESULTS Ten cases (10/45652, 0.022%) of IABA were identified in our center. The prevalence of the cases with isolated left subclavian artery (ILSCA) in the right aortic arch (RAA) population was 0.98% (6/613). The ILSCA was the most common isolated arch branch. All the isolated branches were on the opposite side of aortic arch in all the cases. The "ice stick" sign in the coronal section could be seen in most cases of IABA. Of the 10 cases, 8 (8/10, 80%) were associated with tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). Two cases of IABA were combined with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. CONCLUSION IABA is a rare aortic anomaly. ILSCA was the most common isolated arch branch and TOF was the most common associated intra-cardiac anomaly. The "ice stick" sign in the coronal section could indicate a diagnosis of the IABA.

Abstract
The anatomy of ductus arteriosus (DA) can be varied in different congenital heart defects (CHDs), and it is difficult to fully discover the DA and other associated cardiac anomalies by prenatal ultrasound. This study was aimed to use the modified vascular corrosion casting technique to prepare fetal cardiovascular casts with DA anomalies, assess the casting effectiveness in evaluating the great vessels of the fetal heart and investigate the utility of cardiovascular casting for the demonstration of fetal DA abnormalities. This retrospective study enrolled fourteen fetuses (23 to 28+2 gestational weeks) with severe CHDs diagnosed by prenatal echocardiography and casting technique from January 2013 to July 2019. The sonographic features of DAs were carefully observed and other associated cardiovascular anomalies were also evaluated during the screening. The architectures of DAs and the whole cardiovascular system were observed and analyzed, and then the cast findings were compared with prenatal ultrasonic results. In fourteen cases, 18 ductal abnormities were indicated by prenatal echocardiography in fourteen cases, while 25 were revealed by casting. Cast findings included 4 cases of ductal stenosis, 1 case of ductal dilation, 6 cases of ductal circuity, 3 cases of right-sided ductus, 5 cases of anomalous ductal connection, 1 case of bilateral ductus and 5 cases of absent ductus. Cast findings consisted with ultrasound in 10 ductal abnormalities, revealed additional 15 ductal abnormalities miss-diagnosed by sonography, and corrected 6 abnormalities misdiagnosed prenatally. Meanwhile, 3 ductal abnormalities (reversed flow) could not be demonstrated by casts but only by ultrasound. Cast models can visually display the anatomical characteristics of ductus arteriosus, and could be successfully used in the demonstration of ductus abnormalities in fetuses with severe CHDs. Comparing with ultrasound, casting technique has its own superiority in exhibiting ductus abnormalities, especially in certain types such as course, origin and absence abnormalities of ductus.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare prenatal echocardiography with postnatal cardiovascular casting for detection of fetal cardiovascular malformations, and to discuss the causes of prenatal misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. METHODS We retrospectively identified patients from 2013 to 2018 at our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center who were reported to have a fetal diagnosis of severe congenital heart malformations (CHMs). Subjects had postnatal confirmation of CHMs. Prenatal and postnatal medical records, including ultrasound results and casting findings, were reviewed and analyzed. RESULTS Postnatal casting showed that all 35 fetuses had complex CHMs. In these 35 cases, 90 cardiovascular malformations were found by postnatal casting, and 69 were detected by prenatal echocardiography. Among the other 21 cardiovascular malformations, 7 were misdiagnosed and 14 diagnoses were missed by prenatal ultrasound. CONCLUSION Prenatal echocardiography may lead to misdiagnosis and missed diagnoses, especially in cases with great arterial branching anomalies. Postnatal casting can demonstrate the configuration of the great vessels and smaller branches directly. Thus, understanding of such malformations via postnatal casting may help to improve prenatal diagnostic accuracy.

Abstract
A retroesophageal left brachiocephalic vein (LBCV) is a highly rare anomaly. We retrospectively analyzed 7 cases of a retroesophageal LBCV that were prenatally diagnosed from a database of fetal echocardiogram of 31,356 cases. The 3-vessel view and the long-axis view are the main views for confirming a fetal retroesophageal LBCV. An isolated retroesophageal LBCV is rare, and it is typically associated with congenital heart defects, especially conotruncal defects and a right aortic arch. An isolated fetal retroesophageal LBCV has a good prognosis and does not need surgical treatment.

Congenital Cystic Adenomatoid Malformation Volume Ratio in Prenatal Assessment of Prognosis of Fetal Pulmonary Sequestrations. Curr Med Sci 2019; 39:658-662. Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the prognosis of pulmonary sequestration (PS) by measuring congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation volume ratio (CVR) value in fetal congenital PS. The fetal CVR in 49 cases of fetal PS diagnosed by prenatal ultrasound in Xiangyang No. 1 People's Hospital from March 2010 to June 2017 were measured, and the clinical outcomes were observed. According to the prenatal ultrasound CVR value, 49 fetuses diagnosed with PS were divided into 2 groups: group 1 with CVR≥1.26, and group 2 with CVR<1.26. The incidence rate of fetal edema, respiratory distress symptoms and survival rate were compared between the two groups. The risk factors of the fetal PS were evaluated by single and multiple Logistic regression analysis. The correlation between CVR and fetal prognosis was analyzed. Of the 49 fetuses, there were 34 cases of PS (ILS) type (69.39%, 34/49), 10 cases of PS (ELS) type I (20.41%, 10/49) and 5 cases of PS (ELS) type II (10.20%, 5/49). Forty-six cases (93.88%, 46/49) were born alive, there was 1 case (CVR ≥1.26) (2.04%, 1/49) of induced abortion, and 2 cases (CVR ≥1.26) (4.08%, 2/49) of stillbirths. In group 1 (n=24), 21 cases were born alive, and the incidence rate of newborn respiratory distress and fetal edema was 100% (21/21) and 79.17% (19/24) respectively. In group 2 (n=25), there were 3 cases (12%,3/25) of newborn respiratory distress, 3 cases (12%, 3/25) of fetal edema, and the rate of live birth was 100%. There were statistically significant differences between the two groups in the incidence of fetal edema, postpartum respiratory symptoms and survival rate. CVR was a risk factor for PS and was associated with fetal prognosis. CVR in the midtrimester of pregnancy is an effective index to evaluate the prognosis of fetal PS. CVR ≥1.26 is associated with an increased risk of fetal edema, infant respiratory distress and intrauterine or postnatal death.

Abstract
A pulmonary artery (PA) sling is a very rare congenital cardiovascular anomaly, and only a few studies have reported PA slings in fetuses. The relationship of the PA, aorta, ductus arteriosus, and trachea can be evaluated in the 3-vessel and 3-vessel and trachea views during fetal echocardiography. A PA sling can be detected by abnormal positioning of the left PA in relation to the trachea when sweeping from the 3-vessel view cranially to the 3-vessel and trachea view. Here we report 3 cases of fetal PA slings and their follow-ups. Two cases were confirmed by postnatal echocardiography, and the other case was confirmed by a cardiovascular cast after pregnancy termination. We emphasize that the 3-vessel and 3-vessel and trachea views are of crucial importance in the prenatal diagnosis of a PA sling.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Fetal deformity is a disease caused by abnormal chromosome structure, which may be influenced by genetic factors as well as the maternal and external environment. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may be used to effectively diagnose fetus deformities. However it has been reported that gene analysis is a more accurate diagnostic method. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of MRI in combination with gene analysis for the diagnosis of fetal congenital heart disease, a form of fetus deformity. METHODS MRI, array comparative genome hybridization analysis and fluorescence in situ hybridization were used to analyze the effectiveness of the two methods in a total of 78 pregnant women with suspected fetal congenital heart disease. RESULTS Our findings demonstrated that the combination of MRI and gene analysis resulted in significantly improved diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity and specificity for fetal congenital heart disease compared with either method alone. MRI combined with gene analysis confirmed 42 fetuses with pulmonary stenosis, 24 with aortic stenosis and 12 healthy fetuses, which was significantly improved compared with MRI or gene analysis alone. It was also observed that gene analysis was a more efficient method of diagnosis compared with MRI; however, the combination of the two methods was the most effective. CONCLUSION In conclusion, the results of the present study suggest that MRI combined with gene analysis may be a more effective diagnostic method for fetal congenital heart disease compared with the current protocol.

Abstract
Nitinol alloy occluders are widely used in the transcatheter intervention treatment of congenital heart diseases like patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). However, nitinol alloy contains high levels of nickel, which can lead to toxic effects in the immune and hematopoietic systems if released in sufficient quantities. A new type of single-rivet occluder coated with nano-film has been developed to limit the release of nickel. In total, 23 patients were recruited and randomly assigned to the experimental group (n=12) with the new nano-film single-rivet occluders or the control group (n=11) with the traditional occluders. One case in the control group was lost to follow-up. The remaining 22 cases were followed up at 24 h, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after the procedure. There were no statistically significant differences in routine blood test, alanine aminotransferase, creatinine, and troponin between the experimental and control groups. Serum nickel concentration in both two groups increased at 24 h after the procedure, peaked at 1 month, and returned to preoperative levels at 6 months. Serum nickel levels in the experimental group were significantly lower than in the control group at 24 h, 7 days, 1 month, and 3 months after the procedure. These data suggested that the nano-film coating effectively prevented nickel release from the new occluders, and therefore has a preferable safety profile.

Abstract
The three-dimensional visualization model of human body duct is based on virtual anatomical structure reconstruction with duct angiography, which realizes virtual model transferred from two-dimensional, planar and static images into three-dimensional, stereoscopic and dynamic ones repectively. In recent years, the multi-duct segmentation and division of the same specimen (or organ) is the focus of attention shared by surgeons and clinical anatomists. On the basis of 4.22 g/cm3 body bone density, this study has screened out metal oxide contract agent with different density for infusion and modeling, as well as compared and analyzed the effects of three-dimensional image of CT virtual bronchoscopy (CTVB), three-dimensional image of CT maximum intensity projection and three-dimensional model. This experiment result showed synchronously infusing multi-duct of same specimen (or organ) with contrast agent in different densities could reconstruct three-dimensional models of all ducts once only and adjust threshold to develop single or multiple ducts. It was easier to segment and observe the duct structure, anastomosis, directions and crossing in different parts, which was beyond comparison with three-dimensional image of CTVB. Although the existing three-dimensional duct reconstruction techniques still cannot be applied in living bodies temporarily, this study focused on a creative design of ducts segmentation in different density, which proposed a new experimental idea for developing multi-duct three-dimensional model in living body in the future. It will play a significant role in disease diagnosis and individual design in surgical treatment program. Therefore, this study observes the three-dimensional status of human duct with the application of contrast agent fillers in different density, combined with three-dimensional reconstruction technology. It provides an innovative idea and method for constructing three-dimensional model of digital multi-duct specimen, and the ultimate goal is to develop the digitized virtual human and precise medical treatment better and faster.
