Abstract
While numerous papers have been published according to the binary surfactant mixtures, only a few articles provide deeper information on the composition dependence of the micellization, and even less work attempts to apply the enhanced feature of the mixed micelles. The most important parameter of the self-assembled surfactants is the critical micelle concentration (cmc), which quantifies the tendency to associate, and provides the Gibbs energy of micellization. Several techniques are known for determining the cmc, but the isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) can be used to measure both cmc and enthalpy change (ΔmicH) accompanying micelle formation. Outcomes of our calorimetric investigations were evaluated using a self-developed routine for handling ITC data and the thermodynamic parameters of mixed micelle formation were obtained from the nonlinear modelling of temperature- and composition- dependent enthalpograms. In the investigated temperature and micelle mole fractions interval, we observed some intervals where the cmc is lower than the ideal mixing model predicted value. These equimolar binary surfactant mixtures showed higher solubilization ability for poorly water-soluble model drugs than their individual compounds. Thus, the rapid and fairly accurate calorimetric analysis of mixed micelles can lead to the successful design of a nanoscale drug carrier.

Abstract
The effect of various media (aqueous, NaCl, urea (U) and thiourea (TU)) on the micellization and adsorption activity of varied mixtures of imipramine hydrochloride (IMP) and benzethonium chloride (BZCl) is investigated via tensiometry. In an aqueous medium, the interactions between IMP and BZCl are also evaluated using UV-visible and FTIR spectroscopy. The interaction between components increases with increased mole fraction (α 1) of BZCl in the mixed system (IMP + BZCl). Different parameters, such as micellar and the mixed monolayer component composition, the interaction parameters of the solution and the interface, the activity coefficients of the components in solution and at the interface, and thermodynamic parameters, are computed using different proposed theoretical models (i.e. Clint, Motomura, Rubingh and Rosen). The cmc values obtained for the pure components and mixtures (IMP + BZCl) of all the compositions are found to be less in NaCl than in the aqueous solution while found more in the presence of U or TU. TU is more effective in increasing the cmc of the pure and mixed systems than U. The Gibbs free energy ( Δ G mic ∘ ) values of the studied pure and mixed systems are negative, showing the spontaneous nature of the reaction.

Abstract
AbstractThe aggregation behavior of promazine hydrochloride (PMZ) and bile salt (sodium taurocholate (NaTC)) mixtures at various compositions and temperature in pure and mixed states were studied using conductometry technique in aqueous solutions. The values of experimental and ideal critical micelle concentration (cmc and cmcid) propose attractive interactions in PMZ-NaTC mixtures. By applying the regular solution theory (RST) various physicochemical parameter such as micellar mole fraction in the mixed (X1) and ideal (X1id) state, interaction parameters (β), thermodynamic parameters of micellization as well as other related parameters have been evaluated and discussed in detail. The results show that the synergistic effect between drug and bile salt plays a crucial role in the redtdprefuction of the overall cmc value in aqueous solution at various composition of NaTC. The thermodynamic parameters recommend the discharge of water from the hydrophobic part of the PMZ at higher temperatures.
