Abstract
We have developed a no-cost, lightweight, human-powered dispenser using an empty ballpoint pen. Used in lateral flow assays, this dispenser restricts antibody deposition to narrow zones, allowing freehand drawing of test and control lines. The lines can be drawn in widths ranging from 0.15 to 1.00 mm. Naphthol green B, a compatible stain, was used to label antibody solutions and certify handwriting traces. Using human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) as a model antigen, we demonstrated that the pen dispenser can imprint antibodies on nitrocellulose membranes without affecting their microstructure and chromatographic function. A lateral flow assay using the pen dispenser detected HCG at 0.1 μg/mL, comparable to the sensitivity of standard tests using traditional benchtop dispensers.

Abstract
Persistent organic micropollutants have seriously damaged aquatic ecological equilibrium and affected human health. Conventional adsorbents are limited due to slow adsorption rate. Therefore, it's significant to integrate adsorbent into porous membrane to develop a highly efficient continuous filtration method for water purification. Herein, β-cyclodextrin polymer (β-CDP) composite porous membranes were prepared via convenient interfacial cross-linking. The membranes combined the adsorption ability of β-CDP and the convective mass transport process of filtration membrane to quickly remove contaminants from water by flow-through adsorption. In optimized preparation conditions, the composite membrane exhibited a 100% of removal efficiency towards bisphenol A and a high treating capacity up to 440 mg m-2. The treating capacity kept nearly unchanged in acidic and neutral pH condition, while increased greatly with the addition of salts due to the salting-out effect. Also, the membrane could completely remove pollutants with ultrahigh flux up to 2500 L·m-2 h-1. In addition, the used membranes were fully regenerated by mild ethanol cleaning.

Abstract
ABSTRACT In recent years, sensing applications have played a very important role in various fields. As a novel natural material, cellulose-based membranes with many merits can be served as all kinds of sensors. This review summarizes the recent progress of cellulose membranes as sensors, mainly focusing on their preparation processes and sensing properties. In addition, the opportunities and challenges of cellulose membrane-based sensors are also prospected. This review provides some references for the design of cellulose membrane materials for sensing applications in the future.

Abstract
Porous regenerated cellulose (RC) membranes were prepared with cotton linter pulp as a raw material. These membranes were first oxidized on both sides by a modified (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-yl)oxyl (TEMPO) oxidation system using a controlled oxidation reaction technique. Then, the oxidized RC membranes were functionalized with polyethylenimine (PEI) via the glutaraldehyde crosslinking method to obtain bifunctional (carboxyl and amino) porous RC membranes, as revealed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), elemental analysis and zeta potential measurement. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the tests of the mechanical properties and permeability characteristics of modified RC membranes demonstrated that the porous structure and certain mechanical properties could be retained. The adsorption performance of the modified membranes towards dyes was subsequently investigated. The modified membranes displayed good adsorption capacities, rapid adsorption equilibrium and removal efficiencies towards both anionic (xylenol orange (XO)) and cationic (methylene blue (MB)) dyes, making them suitable bioadsorbents for wastewater treatment.
