Abstract
Solanum lycopersicum L. can be classified into low Cd-accumulating and high Cd-accumulating types based on their accumulation characteristics of cadmium (Cd). There are many common S. lycopersicum varieties available in the market, but their specific Cd tolerance and enrichment abilities are not well understood. This article uses two S. lycopersicum cultivars, Yellow Cherry and Yellow Pearl, as experimental materials. The experimental method of soil pot planting was adopted, and Cd concentrations in the soil were added at 0, 0.6, 1.5, 2.5, 5, and 10 mg/kg. The changes in Cd content, biomass, photosynthetic pigment content, and photosynthetic parameters of the two S. lycopersicum cultivars were analyzed to screen for low-accumulation S. lycopersicum cultivars. The results showed that S. lycopersicum are Cd-sensitive plants. The Cd accumulation, photosynthetic parameters, and other basic indicators of Yellow Cherry basically showed significant differences when the soil Cd concentration was 0.6 mg/kg, and the biomass showed significant differences when the soil Cd concentration was 1.5 mg/kg. Except for the Cd accumulation in the roots and leaves of Yellow Pearl, which showed significant differences at a soil Cd concentration of 0.6 mg/kg, the other indicators basically showed significant differences when the soil Cd concentration was 1.5 mg/kg. When the soil Cd concentration was 0.6 mg/kg, the Cd accumulation in the fruit of Yellow Pearl was 0.04 mg/kg, making it a low-accumulation S. lycopersicum variety suitable for promoting cultivation in Cd-contaminated soil at 0.6 mg/kg. In conclusion, the Cd accumulation in the fruit of Yellow Pearl is significantly lower than that of Yellow Cherry and even below the Cd limit value for fresh vegetables specified in GB2762-2017. Therefore, Yellow Pearl can be grown as edible crops in soils with Cd concentrations ≤0.6 mg/kg. Furthermore, Yellow Cherry demonstrate strong Cd tolerance and can be used for the remediation of Cd-contaminated soils.

Abstract
Neurotransmitters are naturally found in many plants, but the molecular processes that govern their actions still need to be better understood. Acetylcholine, γ-Aminobutyric acid, histamine, melatonin, serotonin, and glutamate are the most common neurotransmitters in animals, and they all play a part in the development and information processing. It is worth noting that all these chemicals have been found in plants. Although much emphasis has been placed on understanding how neurotransmitters regulate mood and behaviour in humans, little is known about how they regulate plant growth and development. In this article, the information was reviewed and updated considering current thinking on neurotransmitter signaling in plants' metabolism, growth, development, salt tolerance, and the associated avenues for underlying research. The goal of this study is to advance neurotransmitter signaling research in plant biology, especially in the area of salt stress physiology.

Abstract
Exogenous substances (ESs) can regulate plant growth and respond to environmental stress, but the effects of different ESs on blueberry fruit quality under soil cadmium (Cd) toxicity and related metabolic mechanisms are still unclear. In this study, four ES treatments [salicylic acid (SA), spermidine (Spd), 2,4-epibrassinolide (EBR), and melatonin (MT)] significantly increased blueberry fruit size, single-fruit weight, sweetness, and anthocyanin content under soil Cd toxicity and effectively reduced fruit Cd content to safe consumption levels by promoting mineral uptake (Ca, Mg, Mn, Cu and Zn). Furthermore, a total of 445, 360, 429, and 554 differentially abundant metabolites (DAMs) (LC-MS) and 63, 48, 79, and 73 DAMs (GC-MS) were identified from four comparison groups (SA/CK, Spd/CK, EBR/CK and MT/CK), respectively. The analyses revealed that ESs improved blueberry fruit quality and tolerance to Cd toxicity mainly by regulating the changes in metabolites related to ABC transporters, the TCA cycle, flavonoid biosynthesis, and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis.

Abstract
Chilling causes a significant decline in photosynthesis in tomato plants. Tomato tryptophan decarboxylase gene 1 (SlTDC1) is the first rate-limiting gene for melatonin (MT) biosynthesis and is involved in the regulation of photosynthesis under various abiotic stresses. However, it is not clear whether SlTDC1 participates in the photosynthesis of tomato under chilling stress. Here, we obtained SlTDC1 overexpression transgenic tomato seedlings, which showed higher SlTDC1 mRNA abundance and MT content compared with the wild type (WT). The results showed that the overexpression of SlTDC1 obviously alleviated the chilling damage to seedlings in terms of the lower electrolyte leakage rate and hydrogen peroxide content, compared with the WT after 2 d of chilling stress. Moreover, the overexpression of SlTDC1 notably increased photosynthesis under chilling stress, which was related to the higher chlorophyll content, normal chloroplast structure, and higher mRNA abundance and protein level of Rubisco and RCA, as well as the higher carbon metabolic capacity, compared to the WT. In addition, we found that SlTDC1-overexpressing seedlings showed higher Wk (damage degree of OEC on the PSII donor side), φEo (quantum yield for electron transport in the PSII reaction center), and PIABS (photosynthetic performance index) than WT seedlings after low-temperature stress, implying that the overexpression of SlTDC1 decreased the damage to the reaction center and donor-side and receptor-side electron transport of PSII and promoted PSI activity, as well as energy absorption and distribution, to relieve the photoinhibition induced by chilling stress. Our results support the notion that SlTDC1 plays a vital role in the regulation of photosynthesis under chilling stress.
