Mechanism of Double-Diffusive Convection on Peristaltic Transport of Thermally Radiative Williamson Nanomaterials with Slip Boundaries and Induced Magnetic Field: A Bio-Nanoengineering Model

The present work has mathematically modeled the peristaltic flow in nanofluid by using thermal radiation, induced a magnetic field, double-diffusive convection, and slip boundary conditions in an asymmetric channel. Peristalsis propagates the flow in an asymmetric channel. Using the linear mathematical link, the rheological equations are translated from fixed to wave frames. Next, the rheological equations are converted to nondimensional forms with the help of dimensionless variables. Further, the flow evaluation is determined under two scientific assumptions: a finite Reynolds number and a long wavelength. Mathematica software is used to solve the numerical value of rheological equations. Lastly, the impact of prominent hydromechanical parameters on trapping, velocity, concentration, magnetic force function, nanoparticle volume fraction, temperature, pressure gradient, and pressure rise are evaluated graphically.

Effects of heat transfer and the endoscope on Jeffrey fluid peristaltic flow in tubes

Purpose

This article aims to describe the effect of an endoscope and heat transfer on the peristaltic flow of a Jeffrey fluid through the gap between concentric uniform tubes.

Design/methodology/approach

The mathematical model of the present problem is carried out under long wavelength and low Reynolds number approximations. Analytical solutions for the velocity, temperature profiles, pressure gradient and volume flow rate are obtained.

Findings

The results indicate that the effect of the wave amplitude, radius ratio, Grashof number, the ratio of relaxation to retardation times and the radius are very pronounced in the phenomena. Also, a comparison of obtaining an analytical solution against previous literatures shows satisfactory agreement.

Originality/value

Analytical solutions for the velocity, temperature profiles, pressure gradient and volume flow rate are obtained. Numerical integration is performed to analyze the pressure rise and frictional forces on the inner and outer tubes.

Crossbreed impact of double-diffusivity convection on peristaltic pumping of magneto Sisko nanofluids in non-uniform inclined channel: A bio-nanoengineering model

The consequences of double-diffusivity convection on the peristaltic transport of Sisko nanofluids in the non-uniform inclined channel and induced magnetic field are discussed in this article. The mathematical modeling of Sisko nanofluids with induced magnetic field and double-diffusivity convection is given. To simplify PDEs that are highly nonlinear in nature, the low but finite Reynolds number, and long wavelength estimation are used. The Numerical solution is calculated for the non-linear PDEs. The exact solution of concentration, temperature and nanoparticle are obtained. The effect of various physical parameters of flow quantities is shown in numerical and graphical data. The outcomes show that as the thermophoresis and Dufour parameters are raised, the profiles of temperature, concentration, and nanoparticle fraction all significantly increase.

Simulation study of the effects of interstitial fluid pressure and blood flow velocity on transvascular transport of nanoparticles in tumor microenvironment

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE

Although nanoparticle preparations have great potential in the treatment of tumors, nanoparticle preparations have not achieved the desired therapeutic effect. The reason is that the abnormal tumor microenvironment prevents nanoparticles from effective concentrating and reaching tumor area. Therefore, it's very necessary to better understand the effect of the abnormal tumor microenvironment on the transvascular transport of nanoparticles to overcome this critical problem.

METHODS

In this paper, a tumor abnormal vascular-interstitial model was established, and the transvascular transport process of nanoparticles was simulated in the model by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling.

RESULTS

The simulation results showed that the transport efficiency of nanoparticles decreased with increasing interstitial fluid pressure (IFP), and nanoparticles could not cross the blood vessel wall when the IFP approached the blood vessel wall pressure. Interestingly, the transport efficiency of nanoparticles first increased with blood flow velocity, and then decreased with blood flow velocity.

CONCLUSIONS

The results showed that with the continuous malignant development of tumors, the ability of nanoparticles to passively diffuse has almost disappeared. The enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect of the nanoparticles disappeared with the disappearance of the pressure gradient inside the tumor. These results provided guidance for future research on the vascular transport pathways and mechanisms of nanoparticles.

Hydrodynamics Interactions of Metachronal Waves on Particulate-Liquid Motion through a Ciliated Annulus: Application of Bio-Engineering in Blood Clotting and Endoscopy

This study deals with the mass transport phenomena on the particle-fluid motion through an annulus. The non-Newtonian fluid propagates through a ciliated annulus in the presence of two phenomenon, namely (i) endoscopy, and (ii) blood clot. The outer tube is ciliated. To examine the flow behavior we consider the bi-viscosity fluid model. The mathematical modeling has been formulated for small Reynolds number to examine the inertia free flow. The purpose of this assumption is that wavelength-to-diameter is maximal, and the pressure could be considerably uniform throughout the entire cross-section. The resulting equations are analytically solved, and exact solutions are given for particle- and fluid-phase profiles. Computational software Mathematica has been used to evaluate both the closed-form and numerical results. The graphical behavior across each parameter has been discussed in detail and presented with graphs. The trapping mechanism is also shown across each parameter. It is noticed clearly that particle volume fraction and the blood clot reveal converse behavior on fluid velocity; however, the velocity of the fluid reduced significantly when the fluid behaves as a Newtonian fluid. Schmidt and Soret numbers enhance the concentration mechanism. Furthermore, more pressure is required to pass the fluid when the blood clot appears.

MHD Effects on Ciliary-Induced Peristaltic Flow Coatings with Rheological Hybrid Nanofluid

Present theoretical investigation is a mathematical illustration of an application to endoscopy by incorporating hybrid nanoparticles and an induced magnetic field with a rheological fluid model for more realistic results. Rheological fluid behavior is characterized by the Ostwald-de-Waele power-law model. A hybrid nanofluid mechanism is considered comprising platelet-shaped nanoparticles since nanoparticles are potential drug transportation tools in biomedical applications. Moreover, ciliary activity is encountered regarding their extensive applications in performing complex functions along with buoyancy effects. An endoscope is inserted inside a ciliated tube and peristalsis occurred due to ciliary activity in the gap between tube and endoscope. A non-Newtonian model is developed by mathematical formulation which is tackled analytically using homotopy analysis. The outcomes are interpreted graphically along with the pressure rise and streamlining configuration for the case of negligible inertial forces and long wavelength. A three-dimensional graphical interpretation of axial velocity is studied as well. Moreover, tables are prepared and displayed for a more physical insight.

New Insight into AuNP Applications in Tumour Treatment and Cosmetics through Wavy Annuli at the Nanoscale

The purpose of this study is to probe the peristaltic propulsion of a non-Newtonian fluid model with suspended gold nanoparticles. The base fluid is considered to simulate blood using the Carreau fluid model. We model a small annulus as a tube with a peristaltic wave containing a clot propagating towards the tube wall. An external variable magnetic field is also considered in the governing flow. An approximation for long wavelengths and small Reynolds numbers is employed to formulate the governing flow problem. The resulting nonlinear equations are solved using a perturbation scheme. Series solutions are obtained for the velocity profile, temperature profile, pressure rise and streamlines. The results indicate an enhancement in the temperature profile that can be utilized in eradicating tumour cells.
