Abstract
BACKGROUND The integration of neck liposuction with FaceTite Manipulus Radiofrequency (RF) technology and buccal fat pad excision for enhanced neck rejuvenation promise heightened precision and efficacy in sculpting the neck and jawline. Neck liposuction, coupled with RF technology, provides controlled thermal energy for adipose tissue treatment and collagen remodeling, while buccal fat pad excision offers refined contouring of the lower face and neck. This integrated approach aims to optimize patient outcomes and advance the field of esthetic plastic surgery. METHODS A prospective study was conducted from 2016 to 2023 on 80 consecutive patients who presented to the author's private clinic and required neck remodeling surgery for esthetic purposes. Patients were monitored and clinic appointments were scheduled at intervals of 0, 1, 3, 6 and 12 months post-treatment for evaluation. A tape measure recorded submental length at 1 and 6 months, and a satisfaction survey was administered one week before surgery and after six months. Physicians assessed improvement using a five-point scale for patient satisfaction and a four-point scale for overall improvement. RESULTS All patients underwent successful RFAL treatment, consistently achieving satisfaction with the outcomes. The average reduction in submental length measured 23 mm during the 6-month follow-up period. Additionally, the removal of buccal fat pads played a pivotal role in facial slimming and enhancing the esthetics of the upper cheek region. CONCLUSIONS The integration of neck liposuction with FaceTite RF technology and buccal fat pad excision offers a promising approach for enhanced neck rejuvenation and facial contouring. This combined method demonstrates heightened precision and efficacy in sculpting the neck and jawline, aiming to optimize patient outcomes and advance the field of esthetic plastic surgery. Abstract
The clinical application of polydioxanone (PDO) threads, traditionally utilized for tissue lifting, is now being explored for its volumizing effects in midface rejuvenation. The novel approach involves employing PDO volumizing threads to achieve physical augmentation akin to a "solid filler." The study introduces a more convenient insertion method for these threads, prioritizing ease and efficacy. Clinical cases demonstrate the efficacy of volumizing threads in addressing midface concerns, such as nasolabial folds and midcheek grooves. Additionally, the integration of volumizing threads to provide support in sagging areas is examined for achieving natural-looking enhancements. While highlighting positive outcomes, potential side effects like thread protrusion are addressed, along with strategies for their mitigation. Volumizing threads are presented as a suitable procedure for patients wary of traditional fillers or seeking subtle enhancements, with the recommendation of combining them with cog threads for those desiring more pronounced changes in facial contour. In summary, volumizing thread offers a minimally invasive alternative with fewer side effects for midface rejuvenation.

Abstract
Thread lifting involves the use of slender materials, reminiscent of threads, for aesthetic procedures. These materials are distinct from traditional sutures and vary in composition, purpose, and performance. The introduction delves into the literal and material significance of threads, establishing the broad concept of thread lifting materials. The article revisits the evolution of thread lifting materials, emphasizing the preexistence of cog threads for tissue manipulation before their widespread adoption in plastic surgery. Observations regarding the efficacy and longevity of absorbable versus non-absorbable threads are discussed, stressing the efficiency of high-quality absorbable cog threads. The conclusion underlines the proliferation of thread lifting materials beyond PDO, highlighting the importance of considering multiple factors beyond duration when selecting threads for lifting procedures.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION In recent years, thread lifting has gained popularity as a less invasive cosmetic surgery. It helps raise and realign sagging tissue. The newest thread type for thread lifting procedure is poly-lactic acid-polycaprolactone (PLCL) Definisse threads (RELIFE S.r.l., Florence, Italy). These are fourth-generation absorbable suspended barbed threads. Their double action involves an immediate elevating impact through mechanical action and, over time, the promotion of histological rejuvenating activity through inducing fibroblasts and the synthesis of elastin, hyaluronic acid, and collagen. OBJECTIVES The REDEFINE FACE study assessed the effectiveness and tolerance of Definisse threads in a real-world setting for facial reshaping in patients in India. METHODS This multicenter, retrospective observational research included patients treated with Definisse threads for face contouring. RESULTS Three hundred seventeen patients with a mean follow-up of 4.9 months and an average age of 48.6 years participated in the study. All patients underwent thread lifts using either a single or a combination of Definisse thread reshaping techniques. The Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale for Physicians and Subjects (PGAIS and SGAIS) reported improvement instantly following the treatment (mean score- 3.23 and 3.18, respectively). Improvements continued to enhance during the follow-up visits (mean score- 4.09 and 4.03, respectively). Following the procedure, 96% of patients on the PGAIS and SGAIS exhibited enhancement. Most procedure-related side effects were minor and went away on their own in a few days without the need for proactive care. CONCLUSION The results of this real-world analysis showed that the latest Definisse threads effectively achieve facial reshaping on patients in India and have both immediate and long-term effects. Treatment was generally well tolerated, and no patient experienced serious adverse events.

Abstract
In this review article, our objective is to elucidate fundamental principles and offer practical illustrations concerning the procedures involved in facial and neck thread lifting. Moreover, we aim to explore associated concepts such as the fixing point, hanging point, and anchoring point terminologies, along with the elucidation of vectors. Additionally, we will provide anatomically oriented explanations of the lifting process required for each facial region using thread lifting methods like V, U, and I techniques using floating type threads (Secrete line, Hyundai Meditech., Inc., Wonjusi, Republic of Korea). Furthermore, our intention is to delve deeply into the concepts of tensile strength, anchoring strength, and holding strength, contextualizing their practical applications within this specific field.

The classification of nasolabial folds into three types, each with distinct causative factors and mechanisms, is explored. Age-related changes in facial skin and connective tissues are examined in detail, revealing variations across different facial regions due to variances in tissue firmness and thickness. The innovative 'Reverse Technique,' involving cog threads to enhance tissue traction and effectiveness in thread-lifting procedures, is introduced. Detailed technical guidelines, anatomical considerations, and safety measures are provided, emphasizing the importance of identifying optimal vectors and fixing points to achieve maximum lifting effects while minimizing potential risks, particularly those associated with vascular structures. Additionally, the 'Cross Technique using volumizing thread' is discussed, designed to smooth tissue boundaries and rejuvenate sagging areas. Facial anatomy, including the positioning of arteries and ligaments, is underscored as essential for ensuring the safety and efficacy of procedures. In conclusion, this review stands as a comprehensive guide for practitioners, offering insights into innovative thread-lifting methods and their applications in addressing nasolabial folds. The primary focus is on achieving optimal aesthetic results while prioritizing patient safety.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Several recent observational studies have associated obesity, lifestyle factors (smoking, sleep duration, and alcohol drinking), and glycemic traits with facial aging. However, whether this relationship is causal due to confounding and reverse causation is yet to be substantiated. AIMS We aimed to assess these relationships using Mendelian randomization (MR). METHODS For the instrumental variables, this paper selected independent single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) linked to the exposures at a genome-wide state (P < 5 × 10-8) in equivalent genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Using the UK Biobank, we obtained summary-level data for facial aging on 423,999 individuals. The primary assessments were performed through the combination of complementing techniques (simple method approaches, weighted model, MR-Egger, and weighted median) and the inverse-variance-weighted method. Along with that, we examined the heterogeneity and horizontal pleiotropy through different types of sensitivity analyses. RESULTS The correlations were (a) facial aging for body mass index (BMI, OR = 1.054, 95% CI 1.044-1.64), (b) waist/hip ratio (OR = 1.056, 95% CI 1.023-1.091), and (c) smoking (OR = 1.023, 95% CI 1.007-1.039). Equally important, the correlations for waist/hip ratio remained robust after adjusting for the genetically predicted BMI (OR = 1.028, 95% CI 1.003-1.054). However, no causal effects of alcoholic drinking, glycemic traits, and sleep duration on facial aging were observed. CONCLUSIONS The outcomes shed light on the potential correlation of obesity and cigarette smoking with facial aging while putting forward a more comprehensive and credible foundation for the optimization of facial aging strategies. Abstract
BACKGROUND Thread lifting is a minimally invasive aesthetic procedure that lifts and realigns sagging tissue. Definisse double-needle threads are the latest fourth generation absorbable, monofilament, suspension barbed threads of synthetic origin with convergent bidirectional barbs. Definisse thread produces dual action; mechanical action gives a lifting effect and over a period, it promotes histological revitalizing action. OBJECTIVES To evaluate the real-world efficacy and safety of Definisse double-needle threads for lower facial lifting for jaw line reshaping in Indian patients. METHODS This is an observational, retrospective study involving patients who underwent treatment for lower-face reshaping using Definisse double-needle 12 cm threads. RESULTS Fifty patients with a mean age of 47.44 years were included in the study with an average follow-up of 5.14 months. All the patients have undergone Jawline Reshaping (JR) procedure, while 70% of patients also underwent Malar Reshaping (MR) technique simultaneously. Mean of Physician and Subject Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (PGAIS and SGAIS) showed improvement immediately after the procedure (mean scores 2.82 and 2.7, respectively) and showed further improvement at the follow-up (3.72 and 3.58, respectively). Moreover, most of the patients immediately after the procedure rated the improvement in PGAIS and SGAIS as "much improved" compared to pre-procedure appearance (78% and 66%, respectively), while, at follow-up, 76% and 66% of the patients, respectively, rated "improved very much" compared to pre-procedure appearance. CONCLUSION Current study has demonstrated the effectiveness of the latest Definisse threads in Indian patients in performing tissue repositioning to provide a noticeable lifting effect. Procedure was also well tolerated and none of the patients developed serious complications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Subcutaneous face and neck lift is a popular procedure in Chinese face and neck rejuvenation. However, there are limited studies focusing on the details and evaluation of this technique. OBJECTIVE To introduce our subcutaneous face and neck lift technique with prefabricated skin excision, evaluating the efficacy with patient reported FACE-Q Scale. In addition, to investigate on skin excision and patient's satisfaction under different circumstances. MATERIALS AND METHODS One hundred forty-five consecutive patients were identified who underwent subcutaneous face and neck lift with our technique. Online FACE-Q Scale was assessed for patients' satisfaction 6 months postoperatively. The skin excision and FACE-Q Scale were compared among different subgroups. RESULTS Fifty-eight patients completed the FACE-Q. Patients demonstrated high satisfaction overall and felt 8.8 years younger than their actual age. Intraoperative skin excision data verified the practicality of the prefabricated technique. There was a constant trend with patients' satisfaction among different age groups. The preliminary comparison between the facial bone reduction group and the general group revealed no significant difference. CONCLUSION The subcutaneous face and neck lift technique with prefabricated skin excision is an effective technique with favorable results in young and middle-aged Chinese patients. Abstract
INTRODUCTION Facial aging is a multifactorial process in which considerable changes occur in different face structures. Thread lifting is one of the most common minimally invasive treatments related to facial rejuvenation. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of jawline, jaw angle, and marionette lines correction in combination with APTOS threads and ELLANSE M types through an innovative technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this prospective chart review study, 50 patients with ptosis candidates for lower face correction were included between October 2019 to February 2020. To perform correction of the jawline, jaw angle, and marionette lines, APTOS thread (LLN2GS) and ELLANSE M type were used through an innovative technique. The efficacy (six and twelve months after the surgery) and safety (one, six, and eight weeks after the surgery) were assessed by two surgeons independently. Data were analyzed by SPSS ver. 22 for windows (IBM Inc, NY). RESULTS In this study, 50 patients (4 male, 46 female) with Mean±SD age of 53.84±10.79 years old (Range: 42 years) were included. Regarding the results, patients' level of satisfaction (improved to excellent levels) increased from 74% six months after the surgery to 86% twelve months after the surgery. Moreover, the level of satisfaction obtained from surgeons (improved to excellent levels) decreased from 96% to 86% at six months and twelve months after the surgery, respectively. Based on the results, there were substantial and perfect agreements between the surgeon and the independent surgeon to evaluate the surgery efficacy of facial rejuvenation six and twelve months after the surgery. No side effects were reported after 6 and 8 weeks after surgery. CONCLUSION Regarding the results, due to rare complications, deep satisfaction, and short downtime, the correction of the lower face in combination with APTOS thread (LLN2G) and ELLANSE M type through our innovative technique be considered an efficient and safe treatment.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Barbed thread rhinoplasty for nasal tip projection, dorsal length elongation, and nostril correction is usually performed at private clinics. The procedure is minimally invasive and does not cause permanent external scarring, which is a common challenge in rhinoplasty. Limited studies have described the complications of this procedure, with no reports on its late complications. A patient presented to the authors' clinic with a nasal septal mass, which had developed 3 months before the visit. She had undergone rhinoplasty 10 years prior. During excisional biopsy, the authors found barbed threads impacted in the mass, which may have been inserted during the rhinoplasty. The mass was pathologically demonstrated as a chronic inflammatory lesion that may have originated due to the foreign body. The use of barbed threads in rhinoplasty can induce complications as late as 10 years after surgery; clinicians should consider this and explain the possible late complications to patients before surgery.
