Abstract
A nickel(II) complex [Ni(HL)2] 1 was synthesized by treatment of a new catecholaldimine-based ligand with NiCl2·6H2O in methanol at room temperature. Complex 1 showed excellent catalytic activity where aromatic and heterocyclic alcohols were rapidly converted into trans-cinnamonitrile in a one-pot manner via oxidative olefination in the presence of KOH. The potential of the disclosed catalyst and the results obtained for the direct conversion of alcohols to two different functionalities (trans-cinnamonitrile and aldehydes) are well supported by DFT studies.

Abstract
In this paper, we have developed a novel, highly active, eco-friendly, and versatile heterogeneous catalyst system in which Pd nanoparticles are decorated on Schiff base-modified chitosan‑cerium oxide particles (Pd@CS-CeO2). In order to confirm the successful fabrication of Pd@CS-CeO2, FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM, BET, TG/DTG, and EDS analyses were performed, and its performance was evaluated as a heterogeneous nanocatalyst in Heck coupling reaction and reduction of nitro compounds. The catalytic tests showed that the desired Heck products were readily produced by Pd@CS-CeO2 without being contaminated with the aryl iodides, bromides, and chlorides. Moreover, different nitro compounds were efficiently reduced to corresponding amino compounds by Pd@CS-CeO2 within 95-160 s. Thanks to the heterogeneous nature of Pd@CS-CeO2 catalyst, it was easily recovered via simple filtration and reused up to 5 successive runs by giving 88 % yield. Due to its good catalytic and reusability performance together with stability/durability, Pd@CS-CeO2 is promising candidate as a catalyst for various catalytic or organic reactions.

Abstract
Boehmite is a natural and environmentally friendly compound. Herein boehmite nanoparticles were primarily synthesized and, then, their surface were modified via 3-choloropropyltrimtoxysilane (CPTMS). Afterwards, a new samarium complex was stabilized on the surface of the modified boehmite nanoparticles (Sm-bis(PYT)@boehmite). The obtained nanoparticles were characterized using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), wavelength dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (WDX), scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern. Sm-bis(PYT)@boehmite was used as an environmentally friendly, efficient, and organic-inorganic hybrid nanocatalyst in the homoselective synthesis of tetrazoles in polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG-400) as a green solvent. Notably, Sm-bis(PYT)@boehmite is stable and has a heterogeneous nature. Thus, it can be reused for several runs without any re-activation.

Investigation the Effect of Encapsulated Bromelain Enzyme in Magnetic Carbon Nanotubes on Colorectal Cancer Cells. Jundishapur J Nat Pharm Prod 2021. Abstract
Background: Bromelain (BL) is an enzyme extracted from Ananas comosus, which has been known for its therapeutic properties. Objectives: The anticarcinogenic activity of BL was examined with and without the presence of magnetic carbon nanotubes (MCNTs) against HT-29 colorectal cancer cells. Methods: The operational factors affecting BL adsorption, such as contact time (30, 60, 90, 120, and 180 min), adsorbent dosage (1 g/L and 5 g/L), initial bromelain concentration (50, 150, and 300 mg/L), and temperature (35 and 50°C) were studied in details. Then, cancer cells were exposed to various BL concentrations (0.1, 1, 10, and 100 μg/mL), and the cell viability was determined by methylthiazol tetrazolium (MTT) assay after 24, 48, and 72 h. Results: The highest adsorption of BL on nanotubes was at 41.62 mg/L and achieved at 35°C and 90 min at the initial concentration of 50 mg/L and 1 g/L of MCNTs. The adsorption followed the Freundlich model and second-order kinetics. The results indicated that MCNTs could be a potential effective adsorbent for the removal of BL. Conclusions: MTT assay indicated that BL at a concentration of 100 μg/mL alone and in combination with MCNTs efficiently inhibited the HT-29 cancerous cells. However, encapsulated BL had a considerable advantage of slow delivery, which is favorable for cancer treatment.

Abstract
Magnetically recoverable nano-catalysts can be readily separated from the reaction medium using an external magnet. In recent years, chemistry researchers have employed them as catalysts in chemical reactions. The high surface area, simple preparation, and modification are among their major advantages. Pyridine derivatives are an important category of heterocyclic compounds, which show a wide range of excellent biological activities, including IKK-β inhibitors, anti-microbial agents, A2A adenosine receptor antagonists, inhibitors of HIV-1 integrase, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and anti-Parkinsonism. Recently, the catalytic activity of magnetic nanoparticles was investigated in multicomponent reactions in the synthesis of pyridine derivatives, which is discussed in this review. Magnetically recoverable nano-catalysts can be readily separated from the reaction medium using an external magnet.![]()

Abstract
Carbon‒carbon (C‒C) and carbon‒heteroatom (C‒X) bonds that form via transition-metal-catalyzed processes have been extensively used in the organic synthesis and preparation of natural products and important compounds such as heterocycles, biologically active molecules, and dendrimers. Among the most significant catalysts, magnetic nanoparticles-supported palladium complexes are very effective, versatile, and heterogeneous catalysts for a wide range of C‒C and C‒X coupling reactions due to their reusability, thermal stability, and excellent catalytic performance. In this review, recent advances to develop magnetic nanoparticles supported palladium complexes, including their preparation, characterization, catalytic application, and reusability in the formation of both C‒C and C‒X bonds, by authors such as Sonogashira, Heck, Suzuki‒Miyaura, and Stille, and a few examples concerning N-arylation, S-arylation, and Csp2-P coupling reactions are discussed.
