Abstract
The effects of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) antiserum on reproductive organs and fertility of male rats were investigated. Morphology of treated rat spermatozoa differed markedly from normal rat spermatozoa. The morphological abnormalities were associated with the reduced fertilizability and motility of spermatozoa. The ascorbic acid metabolism was also affected in testis and adrenal. The blood testosterone levels were lowered. Thus, the androgen-sensitive parameters were significantly decreased as a result of the androgen deprivation by the treatment. hCG antiserum manifested antiandrogenic and antifertility effects.
