Flow cytometric analysis of goat milk lymphocytes: subpopulations and adhesion molecule expression

Cytometric analysis of cells in milk from healthy goats was achieved after elimination of interfering signals from debris and dead cells by irreversible staining with ethidium monoazide. Some 61% of milk lymphocytes are CD8+ T cells, 17% are CD4+ and about 20% of these express class II antigens: less than 4% are B cells. Compared with blood, the CD4/CD8 ratio was inverted and fewer lymphocytes expressed CD4SR or L-selectin. Monoclonal antibodies to ovine integrins recognised the caprine alpha 4 chain on most lymphocytes from milk or blood, while beta 1 was more frequent on milk cells.

Immunohistochemical study on the reactivity of workshop monoclonal antibodies with sheep lymph nodes

Of the 302 monoclonal antibodies submitted to the Third Workshop on Ruminant Leukocyte Antigens, 167 have been tested for their reactivity on sheep lymph node sections, according to the APAAP immunohistochemical technique. Of the 57 monoclonal antibodies able to react on ovine tissue sections, only 37 induced a clear and well-contrasted staining. The more striking results are presented in this paper.

Immunohistological study on bovine lymph node using monoclonal antibodies to interleukin-2 receptor

Three monoclonal antibodies to IL-2R alpha (LCTB32, CACT116 and LCTB2) were used for immunohistologic staining of lymph nodes from normal young cattle and a calf suffering from phlegmon. In the normal cattle, a few IL-2R alpha positive cells were detected in the paracortex region. In the calf, IL-2R alpha was mostly expressed on follicle cells.
