Abstract
BACKGROUND A symmetric leukoencephalopathy can occur in the context of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), often as a first manifestation of underlying rheumatologic disease. Recognition of this distinctive syndrome can prompt investigation for SLE when undiagnosed, or prompt treatment initiation when the diagnosis is already known. Earlier recognition of this syndrome could lead to more effective treatment of the disease. METHODS Clinical, laboratory, and radiographic features of three patients were described from an academic medical center in the United States with treatment dates between 2015 and 2022. A systematic review of literature from 1991 to 2023 yielded data for an additional 23 patients. RESULTS Twenty-six total patients with symmetric leukoencephalopathy were included in this study. The median age of the patients was 37 years (range 10-69), 22 patients (85 %) were female, and 4 (15 %) were male. Fourteen of 26 patients (54 %) had this as the first clinical manifestation of SLE. Contrast enhancement was present on MRI brain in 3/26 (88 %) patients. Twenty patients (77 %) were treated with pulse-dose steroids, and all but one patient received some immunomodulatory therapy. Seven patients (27 %) progressed to death. No meaningful predictive differences were found between patients who survived and those who did not. CONCLUSIONS In this case series and literature review patients developed symmetric leukoencephalopathy in systemic lupus erythematosus most often as the first clinical manifestation of SLE. Clinicians should consider this syndrome in any patient with acute onset of symmetric leukoencephalopathy on brain magnetic resonance imaging.

Abstract
Diabetic striatopathy (DS) is an acute hyperkinetic movement disorder arising from non-ketotic hyperglycemia. This condition predominantly affects females and is more common in the elderly, highlighting the interplay between diabetes, striatal pathology, and neurological movement disorders. DS is characterized by involuntary movements, such as hemichorea or hemiballism, and distinctive neuroimaging findings that can be mistaken for more common cerebrovascular events. In this case report, we describe a 67-year-old female with a history of poorly controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus who presented with the sudden onset of involuntary movements affecting her left upper and lower limbs. Clinical examination and laboratory investigations revealed hyperglycemia without ketosis. Neuroimaging via computed tomography (CT) of the brain identified a hyper density in the right lentiform nucleus, consistent with DS. The patient was treated with vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT) inhibitors, oral hypoglycemic agents, and insulin, resulting in marked symptom improvement over 10 days. This case underscores the importance of recognizing DS as a differential diagnosis in patients with hyperkinetic movement disorders and hyperglycemia. Proper diagnosis and management, including stringent glycemic control, are crucial for symptom resolution.

Abstract
Summary Hemichorea-hemiballismus (HCHB) syndrome is a syndrome characterized by choreic movements which are irregular, nonrepetitive, and random movements, and ballismus which are spontaneous and violent movements. HCHB syndrome with a metabolic cause is a rare presentation that can be precipitated by uncontrolled diabetes. Presented here is a case of HCHB syndrome with right-sided neuroimaging findings and contralateral chorea due to uncontrolled type 2 diabetes mellitus. This patient was found to be obtunded with a blood glucose of greater than 500 mg/dL by EMS. After the administration of insulin, she was able to answer clarifying questions of noncompliance with her antihyperglycemic medications. She had a computed tomography without contrast of the head which showed hyperdense lesions in the right caudate nucleus and putamen consistent with HCHB syndrome. She was started on treatment for nonketotic hyperglycemia with insulin. As her mentation improved, she was able to cooperate with physical examination, which revealed irregular and violent movements in the left upper and lower extremities. Her hemichorea and hemiballismus improved with strict glycemic control, and she was able to be discharged to a skilled nursing facility for further rehabilitation. She would later have repeated hospitalizations for poor glycemic control, and repeat neuroimaging would reveal the resolution of hyperdensities after 4 months. HCHB syndrome due to uncontrolled diabetes has been termed diabetic striatopathy and is characterized by poor glycemic control, unilateral striatal hyperdensity on CT imaging, and contralateral choreic movements. Diabetic striatopathy remains a poorly understood disease, and the exact pathophysiologic mechanism has not been definitively elucidated. Learning points Diabetic striatopathy is a relatively new term for metabolic etiology of hemichorea-hemiballismus syndrome and was coined in 2009. The triad for diabetic striatopathy is poor glycemic control, unilateral striatal hyperdensity on CT imaging, and contralateral choreic movements. Multiple etiologies have been suggested for the cause of diabetic striatopathy including petechial hemorrhage, mineral deposition, myelin destruction, and infarction with reactive astrocytosis; however, the exact mechanism has yet to be determined. Antidopaminergic medications may be used to control the choreic movements of diabetic striatopathy; however, the mainstay of treatment is glycemic control, often with insulin therapy.

Abstract
Diabetic striatopathy is a rare neurological complication of diabetes mellitus that presents with sudden onset hemichorea or hemiballismus and is associated with hyperglycemia and striatal abnormality, either by hyperdensity on non-contrast computer tomography or hyperintensity on T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. Here we report a 55-year-old female, from Sri Lanka, who presented with involuntary movements of the left upper and lower limbs. Her past medical history included diabetes mellitus and she was on warfarin 5 mg daily for a mechanical mitral and tricuspid valve replacement. The random blood sugar on admission was 462 mg/dL and the last INR was 3.03. While hemiballismus has multiple etiologies, intracranial hemorrhage would be the main differential in a patient on anticoagulation. Other differentials include drug-induced dyskinesia, metabolic abnormalities, and autoimmune etiologies. Hemiballismus in the presence of high blood glucose should always raise the suspicion of diabetic striatopathy. The non-contrast computed tomography of the brain showed hyperdensity in the right-side caudate nucleus, lentiform nucleus, and globus pallidus which is a characteristic of diabetic striatopathy but could have been mistaken for an intracranial hemorrhage. The involuntary movements improved with glucose control and treatment with clonazepam and tetrabenazine. This case highlights the potential for misdiagnosis of diabetic striatopathy as an intracranial hemorrhage in a patient on warfarin, which can lead to delays in appropriate management and erroneous omission of warfarin. Early recognition and treatment of diabetic striatopathy can lead to significant improvement in the quality of life.

Abstract
ABSTRACT A 79-year-old man with nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) presented with diplopia symptom and a history of diabetes mellitus was referred for an FDG PET/CT scan to determine the pretreatment staging. The FDG PET/CT scan revealed NPC with skull base invasion and decreased FDG uptake at the left striatum. A review of his clinical history and a brain MRI conducted 5 months ago confirmed a previous diagnosis of left hyperglycemic hemichorea. In this NPC patient with inadequate blood sugar control, unilateral striatum hypometabolism may persist for up to 5 months after the initial clinical symptoms.

Abstract
Background The non-ketotic hyperglycemic chorea (NKHC) was a rare complication for patients with diabetes mellitus, but not been well studied. In the present research, we aimed to investigate the clinical and imaging characteristics of NKHC and explore the potential association. Methods We performed a case-control study with patients diagnosed as NKHC. The patients with group of NKHC were retrospectively recruited, while the matched group were set to screened patients with diabetes mellitus but no NKHC at a 1:3 ratio. The clinical and imaging data were collected for all the participants of the two groups. Firstly, Correlation analysis was conducted to test the difference of all the variables between the NKHC group and matched group. Then, the putative associated factors for NKHC were further identified. Results Eleven men and 9 women with NKHC and 60 matched participants were analyzed. The mean age of the NKHC group was 68.5 ± 14.9 years. Participants with NKHC were more likely to have a higher glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level (13 ± 2.82 vs. 10.57 ± 2.71, P<0.001), and a higher frequency of renal dysfunction (estimated glomerular filtration rates <60 ml/min/1.73m2) (55% vs. 20%, P=0.005). Logistic regression analyses showed that both higher HbA1c and renal dysfunction were significantly correlated with NKHC. Conclusion A higher value of HbA1c and renal dysfunction may be associated with the occurrence of NKHC.

Abstract
Diabetic striatopathy (DS) is a rare central nervous system complication of diabetes mellitus, characterized mainly by non-ketotic hyperglycemia and lateralized involuntary movements. Patients with diabetic striatopathy manifested solely by subacute cognitive decline were rarely reported. In this paper, we report a patient with DS who presented solely with subacute cognitive decline without involuntary movements, and cranial CT showed bilateral high density in the basal ganglia. In contrast, SWI showed microhemorrhages in the right caudate nucleus head. After one week of treatment, including glycemic control, the patient showed significant improvement in cognitive function, while a repeat cranial CT showed improved hyperdensity in the right basal ganglia region. 1 month later, at telephone follow-up, the patient's symptoms did not recur.

Abstract
Case report: An 83-year-old Italian female developed postural instability and gait disturbance associated with a concomitant hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state. Brain CT and MRI scans detected a lesion in the right putamen due to metabolic derangement. A month later, the patient started suffering from choreic movements along the left side of the body with brachio-crural distribution, approximately three weeks after SARS-CoV-2 infection. She was treated with tetrabenazine with complete resolution of the aberrant movements. Any attempt to reduce tetrabenazine caused a relapse of the symptoms. Discussion: In diabetic patients, choreic syndrome should be considered a rare event with a benign prognosis and favorable response to treatment. It is the result of a condition known as "diabetic striatopathy". The association of new-onset choreic movements, an episode of hyperglycemia, and a basal ganglia lesion is suggestive of this condition. Its pathophysiology remains unclear, and a lot of hypotheses are still debated. SARS-CoV-2 might have played a role in triggering the patient's motor symptoms. Conclusions: Our case report agrees with the general features of those reported in the literature about movement disorders in diabetic patients. The late onset of symptoms and the poor response to treatment seem to be atypical characteristics of the syndrome. Although speculative, we cannot exclude the role of SARS-CoV-2. This case can be added to the literature for further studies and reviews.

Abstract
Background Diabetic chorea is a rare complication of diabetes mellitus for which head MRI is the most common diagnostic imaging modality. Cases have been reported where CT and/or MRI findings are inconsistent or clinical symptoms and imaging findings do not appear simultaneously. We aimed to compile the cases in which imaging findings appeared on MRI retests and to examine in a systematic review whether temporal differences in the appearance of imaging findings correlate with clinical characteristics. Case Presentation An 80-year-old man with type 2 diabetes mellitus came to a hospital with abnormal movements of the left upper and lower extremities. Two days after the first visit, his symptoms flared up, and his head MRI showed an old cerebral infarction and no new lesion. On day 14, he retested T1-weighted imaging and showed a high signal in the right putamen, which was considered diabetic chorea. Blood glucose was controlled with insulin, and the involuntary movements disappeared. Methods PubMed and ICHUSHI were searched to identify patients with diabetic chorea who had undergone MRI retests. Patients grouped by the temporal change in the presence/absence of imaging findings were compared on age, sex, duration of diabetes mellitus, blood glucose level, HbA1c level, side of involuntary movement, time to first MRI, and follow-up MRI. Results Of the 64 cases analyzed, 43 (67.2%) were female. The mean age was 69.0 years. 16 (25.0%) had worsening findings upon MRI retesting, 37 (57.8%) had improvement, and 10 (15.6%) had unchanged findings. There were no significant differences in age, sex, mean blood glucose level or HbA1c at onset among the groups. Conclusion There was no association between the pattern of appearance of imaging findings over time and clinical characteristics, including glucose levels. If initial MRI findings are negative, MRI retesting after a certain time may help diagnose diabetic chorea.

Abstract
Nongenetic movement disorders are common throughout the world. The movement disorders encountered may vary depending on the prevalence of certain disorders across various geographical regions. In this paper, we review historical and more common nongenetic movement disorders in Asia. The underlying causes of these movement disorders are diverse and include, among others, nutritional deficiencies, toxic and metabolic causes, and cultural Latah syndrome, contributed by geographical, economic, and cultural differences across Asia. The industrial revolution in Japan and Korea has led to diseases related to environmental toxin poisoning, such as Minamata disease and β-fluoroethyl acetate-associated cerebellar degeneration, respectively, while religious dietary restriction in the Indian subcontinent has led to infantile tremor syndrome related to vitamin B12 deficiency. In this review, we identify the salient features and key contributing factors in the development of these disorders.

Abstract
Diabetic striatopathy (DS) is a condition occurring in individuals with type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM) where there are abnormal (usually single-sided) bodily movements (hemiballismus-hemichorea (HBHC)). DS involves the interaction between diabetes leading to damage to areas such as the striatum with the development of a noticeable hyperkinetic movement disorder. Here, we present a case of a 72-year-old man with T2DM, ischaemic heart disease, and dyslipidaemia, who presented with involuntary movements of the bilateral upper limbs (the left side more affected than the right) for three weeks along with progressively worsening subtle involuntary movements of the mouth and tongue, with intact speech, swallowing, and gait. The neurological examination revealed high-amplitude intermittent, sudden onset involuntary movements of the bilateral upper limbs, primarily affecting the left side. Based on clinical findings, which were supported by imaging studies, a diagnosis of diabetic striatopathy was made. His presentation was beyond the classical presentation of unilateral involvement seen in HBHC, but with early identification and strict glycemic control, satisfactory improvement of his clinical status was achieved.

Abstract
Diabetic striatopathy (DS) is a rare condition present as a combination of hemichorea or hemiballismus with striatal computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) changes in the presence of a severely hyperglycemic state. Varying severity and manifestations of DS were reported throughout the literature. However, the exact pathogenesis and mechanism remain unclear. In this case report, we are presenting an unusual case of DS combined with acute ischemic stroke. A 74-year-old male presented with the main complaint of acute left arm and leg weakness, and was found to have significantly high blood sugar and evidence of DS in combination with stroke on CT and MRI. Eventually, he was labeled as a case of combined DS and ischemic stroke.

Abstract
Hyperglycemia-induced chorea/ballism is a rare clinical entity that often occurs in the setting of nonketotic hyperglycemia due to poor glycemic control in elderly patients with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). This condition is typically characterized by hemichorea/hemiballism and unique brain imaging findings in the contralateral basal ganglia. Treatment involves the correction of blood glucose, and most cases resolve without additional therapy. Here we report two cases of this condition in which patients with type 2 DM presented with nonketotic hyperglycemia and typical neuroimaging findings. Although rare, clinicians should be aware of this condition in patients with diabetes who present with sudden abnormal movements since its prompt diagnosis and treatment often lead to a favorable outcome.

Abstract
Nonketotic hyperglycemic hemichorea (NH-HC) is a rare condition presenting in the clinical setting. Brain imaging plays an important role in diagnosing NH-HC, which typically shows basal ganglia changes contralateral to the side of the hemiballismus/hemichorea. Only a few articles in the literature have reported normal pertinent magnetic resonance/CT findings in patients presenting with NH-HC. To the authors' knowledge, no cases in the literature have reported basal ganglia changes solely observed on CT but not on MRI in patients presenting with NH-HC. Herein, we describe a unique case in which a CT of a patient presenting with NH-HC demonstrated basal ganglia abnormalities with negative MRI findings.

Abstract
Hemichorea is characterized by involuntary, continuous, non-patterned movements on one side of the body. While it is most commonly caused by strokes, it can also be caused by metabolic derangements such as hyperglycemia. We present two patients who developed hemichorea in the setting of hyperglycemia. Our first patient had a history of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and developed chorea 2 weeks following a hyperglycemic event. The second patient developed chorea while being on steroids for hip pain and was later diagnosed to have underlying diabetes mellitus. MRI showed hyperintensity in the contralateral lentiform nucleus in both cases. The chorea did not improve despite the correction of the hyperglycemia. Both patients were started on Tetrabenazine with significant improvement. Hyperglycemia-induced hemichorea might be underdiagnosed given the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in the population. Chorea can even be the presenting symptom of diabetes mellitus and in some cases is a delayed manifestation of hyperglycemia.

Abstract
Chorea is a movement disorder involving involuntary movements of muscles of the face, neck, and limbs, usually caused by basal ganglia lesions. As an important part of the presentation of many neurological diseases, chorea is also an unusual manifestation of endocrine diseases and can be challenging to diagnose. Although the most common etiology of chorea is genetic, it is vital to identify acquired or symptomatic chorea, as these are potentially treatable conditions. This review summarizes the latest developments in various endocrine disease-related chorea, which will help clinicians to correctly identify and accurately treat it.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Diabetic striatopathy is defined as a state of hyperglycemia associated with chorea/ballism, striatal hyperdensity at CT, or hyperintensity at T1-weighted MRI. It is considered a rare complication of uncontrolled diabetes but prevalence data are scarce.
Objectives
Characterize diabetic striatopathy prevalence in the population afferent to the largest teaching hospital in Genova (Liguria, Italy) and investigate the role of glycated hemoglobin level in predicting the risk.
Methods
Data were retrospectively obtained from general population undergoing blood sampling for glycated hemoglobin and resulting with HbA1c values ≥ 8%, from January 2014 to June 2017. Brain neuroimaging of those who underwent at least a brain CT or MRI was examined in search of findings compatible with diabetic striatopathy and clinical information was collected. Logistic regression was used to predict the risk of diabetic striatopathy based on age and HbA1c values.
Results
Subjects with uncontrolled diabetes were 4603. Brain neuroimaging was available in 1806 subjects and three patients with diabetic striatopathy were identified, all of them reporting choreic movements. The prevalence of hemichorea due to diabetic striatopathy was therefore 3 cases out of 1806 (0.16%) in our population. Hepatic and hypoxic encephalopathies were the conditions most frequently mimicking diabetic striatopathy. Odds ratio of diabetic striatopathy and HbA1c level was significantly correlated (p = 0.0009).
Conclusions
To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first to evaluate the prevalence of diabetic striatopathy in Italy. High HbA1c values may have a role in predicting diabetic striatopathy.

Abstract
Diabetic striatopathy (DS) is an acute hyperkinetic movement disorder characterized by hemiballismus-hemichorea (HBHC) due to nonketotic hyperglycemia. DS manifests a fascinating interplay between endocrinopathy (diabetes), striatal (putamen, caudate nucleus, globus pallidus) pathology, and a dramatic neurological movement disorder, HBHC. The striking hyperintensity on imaging modalities such as computed axial tomography (CT) scan of the brain and T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain can mislead the clinician to an erroneous diagnosis of a cerebral hemorrhage and/or ischemic infarct, especially in an acute setting. We present an acute case of DS and outline the natural history, semiology, typical radiological findings, and therapeutic options. With careful and thoughtful analysis, an accurate diagnosis can be exacted, sparing the patient unnecessary anxiety and medical costs.

Abstract
Hemichorea has been reported in subjects with hyperglycemia and the recurrent was rarely reported. We identified clinical presentation and course of hypeglycemic hemichorea in six cases, one of whom experienced recurrence. Mean age was 77.2 years and five were women. Duration of diabetes was 1-35 years. Initial HbA1c levels were 9.3%-13% and most patients had poor compliance. Five patients undertook brain magnetic resonance imaging and high signal intensities of basal ganglia was observed in T1-weighted images. All patients were treated with insulin, and four patients were treated with dopamine-receptor blockers. Mean duration of hemichorea was 69 days. One patient’s hemichorea was recurred after 2 months from the time when the first event was resolved and then finally diagnosed with vasculitis. The prognosis of hyperglycaemic hemichoerea seemed to be good. However, we should consider other cause such as vasculitis when the symptom was recurred after adequate glycaemic control.

Abstract
Non-ketotic hyperglycemia chorea-ballismus (NKH-CB) is a rare metabolical syndrome secondary to the hyperglycemic condition, which is characterized by a triad of acute or subacute hemichorea-hemiballismus, hyperglycemic state, and unique abnormalities limited to the striatum on neuroimaging. Several related case studies on this disorder have been reported previously, but NKH-CB had never been associated with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Herein, we report an uncommon case of NKH-CB and ICH that occurred simultaneously in one patient, which provides a challenge for clinicians in making a correct diagnosis. An 88-year-old woman with a long-term history of poor-controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension, who presented with a sudden-onset headache, restlessness, severe bilateral choreiform and ballistic movements, elevated levels of glucose and osmolality in the serum, an increased white blood cell count, and two-type hyperdense signs on CT imaging, was finally diagnosed with NKH-CB and ICH. Despite administrated active treatments, the patient's clinical status did not improve and ultimately passed away. This case is reported to remind clinicians to consider the possibility of NKH-CB when patients present sudden-onset choreiform and ballistic movements. It is also the first entity with two-type hyperdense signs on CT imaging simultaneously, which helps us distinguish NKH-CB from ICH more intuitively.

Abstract
Inborn errors of neurotransmitter metabolism are ultrarare disorders affecting neurotransmitter biosynthesis, breakdown or transport or their essential cofactors. Neurotransmitter dysfunctions could also result from the impairment of neuronal receptors, intracellular signaling, vesicle release or other synaptic abnormalities. Epilepsy is the main clinical hallmark in some of these diseases (e.g. disorders of GABA metabolism, glycine encephalopathy) while it is infrequent in others (e.g. all the disorders of monoamine metabolism in exception for dihydropteridine reductase deficiency). This review analyzes the epileptogenic mechanisms, the epilepsy phenotypes and the principle for the clinical management of epilepsy in primary and secondary inherited disorders of neurotransmitter metabolism (disorders of GABA, serine and glycine metabolism, disorders of neurotransmitter receptors and secondary neurotransmitter diseases).

Abstract
Chorea is an abnormal, nonrhythmic, and purposeless movement of limbs. There is a long list of diseases responsible for chorea; long-standing hyperglycemia can sometimes result in it, which typically manifests on one side of the body. MRI brain is an added diagnostic tool, which commonly shows hyperintense basal ganglia lesion on T1-weighted images. Chorea in the context of hyperglycemia is a reversible and infrequent occurrence, best managed with insulin and haloperidol combination therapy. Here, we discuss a patient with hyperglycemic-hemichorea, whose symptoms resolved completely within two months of taking insulin and haloperidol.

Abstract
Diabetic striatopathy (DS) is a rare medical condition with ambiguous nomenclature. We searched PubMed database from 1992 to 2018 for articles describing hyperglycemia associated with chorea/ballism and/or neuroimages of striatal abnormalities. Descriptive analysis was performed on demographic/clinical characteristics, locations of striatal abnormalities on neuroimages, pathology findings, treatment strategies, and outcomes. In total, 176 patients (male:female = 1:1.7) were identified from 72 articles with mean age 67.6 ± 15.9 (range, 8-92). Among them, 96.6% had type 2 DM with 17% being newly diagnosed. Average blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin concentrations were 414 mg/dL and 13.1%, respectively. Most patients (88.1%) presented with hemichorea/hemiballism. Isolated putamen and combined putamen-caudate nucleus involvements were most common on neuroimaging studies with discrepancies between CT and MRI findings in about one-sixth of patients. Unilateral arm-leg combination was the most frequent with bilateral chorea in 9.7% of patients. Chorea and imaging anomalies did not appear concomitantly in one-tenth of patients. Successful treatment rates of chorea with glucose-control-only and additional anti-chorea medications were 25.7% and 76.2%, respectively, with an overall recurrence rate being 18.2%. The most commonly used anti-chorea drug was haloperidol. To date, four out of six pathological studies revealed evidence of hemorrhage as a probable pathogenesis.

Abstract
Background Hemichorea/hemiballism associated with nonketotic hyperglycemia is a well-recognized syndrome, but few case series have been reported in the literature. Case Report We describe 20 patients with hemichorea/hemiballism associated with hyperglycemia (9 males and 11 females) with mean age of 67.8 years. Ten patients had a previous diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and one had type 1 diabetes mellitus. Six of them had documentation of poor diabetic control over at least the last 3 months. Nine patients had new-onset hyperglycemia with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus made after discharge. Seventeen patients had unilateral chorea/ballism, while three had bilateral chorea/ballism. Eighteen cases had striatal hyperdensities on computed tomography (CT) and/or hyperintense signals on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The putamen was affected in all cases, and the caudate nucleus was involved in nine. Discussion Hemichorea/hemiballism associated with nonketotic hyperglycemia can be the presenting sign of diabetes mellitus in almost half of cases or can occur after a few months of poor glycemic control in patients with diagnosed diabetes. This case series is one of the largest to date and adds valuable information about clinical and neuroimaging features that are comparable with published data but also emphasize the role of adequate diabetes mellitus control.

Abstract
Acute hyperglycemia without ketosis is recognized to induce movement disorders characterized by hemichorea, hemiballismus, or hemidystonia. A video-case of hyperkinetic movement disorder resembling stereotypies in the context of uncompensated hyperglycemia without ketosis is presented, expanding the clinical phenotype of this disorder.
