Abstract
Herein, the few-layer Ti3C2Tx nanosheets loaded zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 nanoplates (Ti3C2Tx-ZIF-67) with a unique structure has been synthesized by surfactant control method, and then is employed as the core of precursor. A thin layer of polydopamine as the shell of precursor covered Ti3C2Tx-ZIF-67 forms a micro-nano reactor, leading to the confinement carbonization process. Consequently, a novel sensing material that few-layer Ti3C2Tx nanosheets loaded Co nanoparticles coated N-doped carbon (Ti3C2Tx-Co@NC) is obtained for the non-enzymatic determination of glucose. Owing to the impressive structure, the established glucose sensor based on Ti3C2Tx-Co@NC/glassy carbon electrode exhibits 0.5-100.0 μM of linear detection range and 66.8 nM of detection limit, which tends to detect low concentration of glucose. The synergistic few-layer Ti3C2Tx nanosheets, Co nanoparticles and NC are considered through a series of control experiments. First, few-layer Ti3C2Tx nanosheets provide a good transport channel for electron transfer, resulting in the lower steric hindrance. Second, Co nanoparticles provide active centers for the electrochemical detection. Third, N-doped carbon with conductivity and hydrophilia plays the role of stabilizing material structure to prevent the fragmentation of Ti3C2Tx and the agglomeration of Co nanoparticles. Such work proposes a confined strategy to develop MXene-ZIF-67-derived nanocomposite with high-performance structure.

Abstract
Endotoxins, also known as lipopolysaccharides (LPS), are present within the cell walls of Gram-negative bacteria and are released upon cellular death, which can pose a significant risk to human and animal health. Due to the minimal amount of endotoxin required to trigger an inflammatory response in human body, the demand for sensitive methods with low endotoxin detection limits is essential necessary. This paper presents a straightforward aptamer sensor which can enhance the conductivity and specific surface area of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) by incorporating carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH) and polyaniline (PANI). Doping with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) improves biocompatibility and sensitivity while providing binding sites for thiolated endotoxin-binding aptamers (LBA). This biosensor achieved a remarkable detection limit as low as 0.5 fg mL-1, enabling trace-level identification of LPS. It also exhibits excellent repeatability, selectivity, and stability, facilitating rapid and accurate LPS detection. Moreover, this method demonstrates high recovery rates and specificity for LPS analysis in food samples, showcasing its promising application prospects in trace-level LPS detection within the food industry.

Abstract
The improper usage of levofloxacin (LEV) endangers both environmental safety and human public health. Therefore, trace analysis and detection of LEV have extraordinary significance. In this paper, a novel molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) electrochemical sensor was developed for the specific determination of LEV by electrochemical polymerization of o-phenylenediamine (o-PD) using poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/chitosan (PEDOT/CS) with a porous structure and rich functional groups as a carrier and LEV as a template molecule. The morphology, structure and properties of the modified materials were analyzed and studied. The result showed that the electron transfer rate and the electroactive strength of the electrode surface are greatly improved by the interconnection of PEDOT and CS. Meanwhile, PEDOT/CS was assembled by imprinting with o-PD through non-covalent bonding, which offered more specific recognition sites and a larger surface area for the detection of LEV and effectively attracted LEV through intermolecular association. Under the optimized conditions, MIP/PEDOT/CS/GCE showed good detection performance for LEV in a wide linear range of 0.0019- 1000 μM, with a limit of detection (LOD, S/N = 3) of 0.4 nM. Furthermore, the sensor has good stability and selectivity, and exhibits excellent capabilities in the microanalysis of various real samples.

Abstract
Hydroquinone (HQ), catechol (CC) and nitrite (NT) are considered aquatic environmental pollutants. They are highly toxic, harm humans' health, and damage the environment. Thus, in the present work we introduce a simple and efficient electrochemical sensor for determination of HQ, CC, and NT simultaneously in wastewater sample. The sensor is fabricated by modifying the surface of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) by two successive thin films from poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and a mixture of carbon nanotubes-graphene oxide (CNT-GRO). Under optimized conditions the HQ, CC, and NT are successfully detected simultaneously in wastewater sample with changing their concentrations in the ranges (0.04 → 100 µM), (0.01 → 100 µM) and (0.05 → 120 µM), the detection limits are 8.5 nM, 3.8 nM and 6.1 nM, respectively. Good potential peak separations: 117 mV and 585 mV are obtained between the HQ-CC, and CC-NT. The sensor has an excellent catalytic capability toward the oxidation of HQ, CC, and NT due to good synergism between its composite components: PEDOT, GRO and CNTs. The features of the sensor are large active surface area, good electrical conductivity, perfect storage stability, good reproducibility, anti-interference capability and accepted recovery rate for HQ, CC, and NT determination in wastewater sample.

Abstract
In this work, a simple electrochemical sensing platform based on acid-treated Fe3O4@SiO2 nanoparticles was successfully prepared for nitrite and sulfite detection. Fe3O4@SiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized through the sol-gel and hydrothermal methods. Fe3O4@SiO2 presented positive charges after acid treatment, which could enhance the electrostatic attraction between Fe3O4@SiO2 and nitrite and sulfite. The Fe3O4@SiO2(acid-treated) modified magnetic glassy carbon electrode (MGCE) was applied to detect nitrite and sulfite using differential pulse voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry. Under optimized conditions, the developed electrochemical sensor presented good analytical properties for nitrite and sulfite detection with detection limits of 3.33 μmol/L and 31.57 μmol/L, respectively. The good recoveries varied from 85.18% to 111.02%, with a relative standard deviation of 0.23-4.80%. Furthermore, the Fe3O4@SiO2(acid-treated) modified MGCE showed better selectivity, reproducibility, and repeatability in nitrite and sulfite detection. Therefore, this proposed electrochemical sensor provides a new method for developing a nitrite and sulfite detection sensor.

Abstract
Although colorectal cancer (CRC) is easy to treat surgically and can be combined with postoperative chemotherapy, its five-year survival rate is still not optimistic. Therefore, developing sensitive, efficient, and compliant detection technology is essential to diagnose CRC at an early stage, providing more opportunities for effective treatment and intervention. Currently, the widely used clinical CRC detection methods include endoscopy, stool examination, imaging modalities, and tumor biomarker detection; among them, blood biomarkers, a noninvasive strategy for CRC screening, have shown significant potential for early diagnosis, prediction, prognosis, and staging of cancer. As shown by recent studies, electrochemical biosensors have attracted extensive attention for the detection of blood biomarkers because of their advantages of being cost-effective and having sound sensitivity, good versatility, high selectivity, and a fast response. Among these, nano-conductive polymer materials, especially the conductive polymer polypyrrole (PPy), have been broadly applied to improve sensing performance due to their excellent electrical properties and the flexibility of their surface properties, as well as their easy preparation and functionalization and good biocompatibility. This review mainly discusses the characteristics of PPy-based biosensors, their synthetic methods, and their application for the detection of CRC biomarkers. Finally, the opportunities and challenges related to the use of PPy-based sensors for diagnosing CRC are also discussed.

Abstract
The electrocatalytic characteristics of nanostructures are significantly affected by surface structure. The strict regulation of structural characteristics is highly beneficial for the creation of novel nanocatalysts with enhanced electrocatalytic performance. This work reports a nitrite electrochemical sensor based on novel flower-like Pd-ZnO nanostructures. The Pd-ZnO nanocatalysts were synthesized through a simple hydrothermal method, and their morphology and structure were characterized via field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Their electrocatalytical performance in the nitrite oxidation reaction was studied via cyclic voltammetry (CV) and the amperometric technique. Compared to pure ZnO and Pd nanoparticles, the Pd-ZnO nanostructures exhibited enhanced electrochemical performance in the nitrite oxidation reaction. In order to investigate the relationships between the structures of Pd-ZnO nanocatalysts and the corresponding electrocatalytic performances, different surface morphologies of Pd-ZnO nanocatalysts were fabricated by altering the solution pH. It was found that the flower-like Pd-ZnO nanostructures possessed larger effective surface areas and faster electron transfer rates, resulting in the highest electrocatalytic performance in the nitrite oxidation reaction. The designed nitrite sensor based on flower-like Pd-ZnO displayed a wide concentration linear range of 1 μM-2350 μM, a low detection limit of 0.2 μM (S/N of 3), and high sensitivity of 151.9 μA mM-1 cm-2. Furthermore, the proposed sensor exhibited perfect selectivity, excellent reproducibility, and long-time stability, as well as good performance in real sample detection.

Abstract
This work describes a facile fabrication of an efficient electrochemical sensor utilizing sonication-derived Galinstan nanoparticles (Galinstan NPs) interfaced to annealed dirhenium heptoxide (Re2O7) thin-film on Silicon (Si) for the quantitative detection of the most promising acute renal disease biomarker Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL). Under optimized preconditions, the anti-NGAL antibodies were immobilized on the Galinstan NPs/Re2O7/Si electrode by carbodiimide crosslinking to detect NGAL. The composition, morphology, and structural properties of the electrode were elucidated by various physical characterizations. The sensor obtained a high sensitivity (0.018 µA-1ng-1ml-1, R2 = 0.99) in differential pulse voltammetry and a minimum detection limit (2.14 ng ml-1) in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy for a wide range of NGAL concentrations (25-650 ng ml-1) with high selectivity and stability. The intensified performance of the sensor was achieved by the summed-up electron transfer from the Re2O7 film to Galinstan NPs and Galinstan NPs to the electroactive reactants. Additionally, the outer 2D gallium oxide (Ga2O3) layer of Galinstan Nps enhanced the redox activities, whereas the metallic core contributed to the magnificent conductivity. The excellent recovery rates of the sensor for different concentrations of NGAL measured in commercial human serum by the standard addition method assured the feasibility of the sensor.

Abstract
Heavy metal ion pollution has had a serious influence on human health and the environment. Therefore, the monitoring of heavy metal ions is of great practical significance. In this work, we describe the development of an electrochemical sensor to detect cadmium (Cd2+) using a Prussian blue (PB), poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT)-loaded laser-scribed graphene (LSG) nanocomposite-modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE). In this nanocomposite material, we successfully brought together the advantages of an extraordinarily large surface area. The accumulation of PB nanoparticles results in an efficient electrochemical sensor with high sensitivity and selectivity and fast detection ability, developed for the trace-level detection of Cd2+. Electrochemical features were explored via cyclic voltammetry (CV), whereas the stripping voltammetry behavior of modified electrodes was analyzed by utilizing differential pulse voltammetry. Compared with bare GCE, the LSG/PB-PEDOT/GCE modified electrode greatly increased the anodic stripping peak currents of Cd2+. Under the optimized conditions, the direct and facile detection of Cd2+ was achieved with a wide linear range (1 nM–10 µM) and a low LOD (0.85 nM).

Abstract
The sensing of food contaminants is essential to prevent their adverse health effects on the consumers. Electrochemical sensors are promising in the determination of electroactive analytes including food pollutants, biomolecules etc. Graphene nanomaterials offer many benefits as electrode material in a sensing device. To further improve the analytical performance, doped graphene or derivatives of graphene such as reduced graphene oxide and their nanocomposites were explored as electrode materials. Herein, the advancements in graphene and its derivatives-based electrochemical sensors for analysis of food pollutants were summarized. Determinations of both organic (food colourants, pesticides, drugs, etc.) and inorganic pollutants (metal cations and anions) were considered. Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) organic materials hold great promise for use in a multitude of contemporary applications due to their outstanding chemical and physical properties. Herein, 2D sheets of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) are prepared from a commercially available PEDOT:PSS suspension using ice as a template. The 2D PEDOT:PSS sheets grow in the boundaries of ice crystals as the polymers are "squeezed" out of the suspension when the water solidifies. The mechanical robustness of the sheets can be enhanced by incorporating WO3 nanowires, and the PSS component can be conveniently removed with a concentrated solution of H2SO4 to afford stable suspensions of PEDOT or WO3@PEDOT sheets, either of which can be converted into flexible films with tunable thicknesses via filtration. Swagelok- or pouch-type supercapacitor devices prepared from the WO3@PEDOT films exhibit outstanding energy-storage characteristics, including high rate capability, thickness-independent energy storage (e.g., 701 mF cm-2 is achieved with a 1-mm-thick film), high resistance toward mechanical deformation, and good cycling stability. Additionally, a high energy density of 0.083 mWh cm-2 is measured for a device prepared using a 1-mm-thick film at a high power density of 10 mW cm-2. The methodology described establishes an efficient and readily scalable approach for accessing 2D organic sheets.

Abstract
The improper disposal in agricultural and industrial wastewater leads to high NO2- concentrations in the aquatic environment, which can cause cancer in humans and animals; thus, their quick and accurate detection is urgently needed to ensure public health and environmental safety. In this study, a reliable and selective electrochemical sensor consisting of Pd-Cu nanospheres (NSs) supported on molybdenum carbide was prepared via simple ultrasonication. Then, a glassy carbon electrode was realized using this composite (Pd-Cu-Mo2C-modified GCE) to test its electrocatalytic sensing for NO2- in a 0.1 M phosphate-buffered solution (PBS) solution via cyclic voltammetry and amperometry; at a low oxidation potential, the anodic peak current of NO2- detected by this electrode was significantly higher than that of its unmodified and other modified electrodes. The sensor showed a broad linear response in the 5-165-nM NO2- concentration range, with a low detection limit (0.35 nM in 0.1 M PBS) and high sensitivity (3.308 μAnM-1 cm-2). Moreover, the fabricated electrode was successfully applied for detecting nitrites in sausages, river water, and milk, showing also good recovery.

Abstract
The human population is generally subjected to diverse pollutants and contaminants in the environment like those in the air, soil, foodstuffs, and drinking water. Therefore, the development of novel purification techniques and efficient detection devices for pollutants is an important challenge. To date, experts in the field have designed distinctive analytical procedures for the detection of pollutants including gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and atomic absorption spectroscopy. While the mentioned procedures enjoy high sensitivity, they suffer from being laborious, expensive, require advanced skills for operation, and are inconvenient to deploy as a result of their massive size. Therefore, in response to the above-mentioned limitations, electrochemical sensors are being developed that enjoy robustness, selectivity, sensitivity, and real-time measurements. Considerable advancements in nanomaterials-based electrochemical sensor platforms have helped to generate new technologies to ensure environmental and human safety. Recently, investigators have expanded considerable effort to utilize polymer nanocomposites for building the electrochemical sensors in view of their promising features such as very good electrocatalytic activities, higher electrical conductivity, and effective surface area in comparison to the traditional polymers. Herein, the first section of this review briefly discusses the most important methods for polymer nanocomposites synthesis, such as in situ polymerization, direct mixing of polymer and nanofillers (melt-mixing and solution-mixing), sol-gel, and electrochemical methods. It then summarizes the current utilization of polymer nanocomposites for the preparation of electrochemical sensors as a novel approach for monitoring and detecting environmental pollutants which include heavy metal ions, pesticides, phenolic compounds, nitroaromatic compounds, nitrite, and hydrazine in different mediums. Finally, the current challenges and future directions for the polymer nanocomposites-based electrochemical sensing of environmental pollutants are outlined.

Abstract
Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) decorated bimetallic CuNi-based hollow nanoarchitecture (CNHN) are reported for the first time as a nonenzymatic sensor for the quantification of nitrite in neutral solution . The CNHN was prepared via a convenient calcining routine using the bimetallic CuNi-MOFs as a coprecursor. The unique chemical structure of hollow CNHN with high specific surface area and abundant terminal amino groups effectively avoid the aggregation of AuNPs and facilitate the subsequent adsorption of nitrite. The Au/CNHN exhibited high electrocatalytic activity towards nitrite oxidation due to the synergetic catalytic effect of AuNPs and CNHN. Chronoamperometric detection of nitrite at the Au/CNHN/GCE achieved a lower linear calibration range of 0.05 to 1.15 mM, with an LOD of 0.017 μM compared with previous reports. The proposed method obtained satisfactory recoveries for nitrite determination in practical applications, which was verified by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The prepared sensor based on Au/CNHN featured favorable selectivity and stability, which provides a promising approach for real sample analysis. Graphical abstract.

Abstract
In this work, cerium-doped LaF3 nanoparticles (LaF3:Ce NPs) were successfully synthesized and characterized. Its chemiluminescence (CL) property was studied, and it was amazingly found that it intensely enhanced the ultra-weak CL of the NaNO2-H2O2 system. The CL mechanism was systematically investigated and suggested to be the recombination of electron-injected and hole-injected LaF3:Ce NPs. The new CL system was developed to be a facile, original, and direct method for nitrite analysis. Experimental conditions were optimized and then a satisfactory linear relationship between CL intensity and nitrite concentration was obtained. This work introduced a new pathway for the research and application of traditional fluoride NPs doped with RE3+.
