Abstract
BACKGROUND Existing evidence shows that there is an independent correlation between nephrolithiasis and gout, and hyperuricemia is the most important risk factor for gout. However, hyperuricemia was often used as an accompanying symptom of gout to explore its association with nephrolithiasis, there were few studies to explore whether hyperuricemia itself or serum uric acid (SUA) is related to the risk of nephrolithiasis. Evidence on the relationship between hyperuricemia and nephrolithiasis is still insufficient. METHODS A total of 22,303 participants aged 30 to 79 years who participated in the China Multi-Ethnic Cohort (CMEC) study in Yunnan Province from May 2018 to September 2019 were included in the study. All participants received standardized face-to-face interviews, medical examinations, and biochemical examinations. Logistic regression was used to estimate the association between hyperuricemia and nephrolithiasis, and a restricted cubic spline (RCS) model was used to explore the dose-response relationship between SUA and the risk of nephrolithiasis. RESULTS 14.5% of all participants were diagnosed with hyperuricemia, and 12.1% were diagnosed with nephrolithiasis. After adjusting for all potential confounders, the OR (95%CI) for nephrolithiasis in participants with hyperuricemia compared with participants without hyperuricemia was 1.464 (1.312,1.633), p < 0.001. Restricted cubic spline regression analysis showed that the risk of nephrolithiasis increased with the increase of SUA, and when the level of SUA is higher than 356 μmol/L in males and higher than 265 μmol/L in females, there is a dose-response relationship between the increase of SUA and the risk of nephrolithiasis in both males and females (p for nonlinearity = 0.1668, p for nonlinearity = 0.0667). CONCLUSION Asymptomatic hyperuricemia is associated with an increased risk of developing nephrolithiasis. Before reaching the diagnostic criteria for hyperuricemia, the risk of nephrolithiasis rises with the increase in SUA. This suggests that controlling SUA levels may be significant for the prevention of nephrolithiasis.

Abstract
PURPOSE To design, construct, and evaluate quantitative MR phantoms that mimic MRI signals from the liver with simultaneous control of three parameters: proton-density fat fraction (PDFF), R 2 ∗ , and T1 . These parameters are established biomarkers of hepatic steatosis, iron overload, and fibrosis/inflammation, respectively, which can occur simultaneously in the liver. METHODS Phantoms including multiple vials were constructed. Peanut oil was used to modulate PDFF, MnCl2 and iron microspheres were used to modulate R 2 ∗ , and NiCl2 was used to modulate the T1 of water (T1,water ). Phantoms were evaluated at both 1.5 T and 3 T using stimulated-echo acquisition-mode MRS and chemical shift-encoded MRI. Stimulated-echo acquisition-mode MRS data were processed to estimate T1,water , T1,fat , R 2 , water ∗ , and R 2 , fat ∗ for each vial. Chemical shift-encoded MRI data were processed to generate PDFF and R 2 ∗ maps, and measurements were obtained in each vial. Measurements were evaluated using linear regression and Bland-Altman analysis. RESULTS High-quality PDFF and R 2 ∗ maps were obtained with homogeneous values throughout each vial. High correlation was observed between imaging PDFF with target PDFF (slope = 0.94-0.97, R2 = 0.994-0.997) and imaging R 2 ∗ with target R 2 ∗ (slope = 0.84-0.88, R2 = 0.935-0.943) at both 1.5 T and 3 T. The values of R 2 , fat ∗ and R 2 , water ∗ were highly correlated with slope close to 1.0 at both 1.5 T (slope = 0.90, R2 = 0.988) and 3 T (slope = 0.99, R2 = 0.959), similar to the behavior observed in vivo. The value of T1,water (500-1200 ms) was controlled with varying NiCl2 concentration, while T1,fat (300 ms) was independent of NiCl2 concentration. CONCLUSION Novel quantitative MRI phantoms that mimic the simultaneous presence of fat, iron, and fibrosis in the liver were successfully developed and validated.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), and principally overactive bladder, are common in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, their origin is not necessarily unique. Obesity is widely recognized as a risk factor for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and overactive bladder (OAB) in the general population. We wanted to evaluate the influence of body mass index (BMI) on LUTS in the MS population. MATERIALS AND METHODS We conducted an uncontrolled monocentric retrospective study in 260 subjects classified into 4 BMI groups: underweight, normal weight, overweight, obese people. Comparisons by Mann-Whitney test were made between different BMI groups, in the overall population and then by gender. LUTS (SUI, OAB, BOO (bladder outlet obstruction) were assessed using USP questionnaire. RESULTS In women, the mean OAB score was higher for obese women, 10.27 (SD=4.5) than for normal weight women, 7.96 (SD=4.58), P=0.024. The SUI score was lower for normal weight, 1.69 (SD=2.38) than for overweight, 3.19 (SD=2.91), P=0.002 and obese subjects, 3.80 (SD=3.23), P=0.0005. As in the overall population, the BOO score was higher in subjects with normal weight, 4.09 (SD=3.33) than in subjects with overweight, 1.91 (SD=2.03), P=0.0003 and in obese subjects, 2.33 (SD=2.37), P=0.013. The same comparisons in men were not significant. CONCLUSION In this series, increased BMI was associated with higher OAB and SUI USP questionnaire scores, in women presenting with MS. Risk Analysis of Prostate Cancer Treatments in Promoting Metabolic Syndrome Development and the Influence of Increased Metabolic Syndrome on Prostate Cancer Therapeutic Outcome. Abstract
In clinical practice, few prostate cancer (PCa) patients are associated with metabolic syndrome (MetS), while few others acquire MetS during treatment. Whether the treatment of PCa increases the occurrence of MetS remains to be confirmed. This study reviewed the changes in MetS patients before and after PCa treatment to evaluate the effects of various treatment methods on MetS. We analyzed data of 1162 PCa patients, whether or not diagnosed with MetS, and changes in MetS patients after PCa treatment. Data of lower urinary tract symptoms, C-reactive protein (CRP), platelet distribution width (PDW), prostate-specific antigen (PSA), Gleason score, clinical stage, treatment methods, and progressive incidents were evaluated using logistic regression according to MetS diagnosis. The results showed significant differences in the prevalence of MetS before (17.38%) and after (23.67%) PCa treatment (P < 0.001). Bad diet, living habits, and prostate cancer treatment were considered as risk factors for MetS (OR = 1.731, 95%CI 1.367-2.193, P < 0.001). Radical prostatectomy (RP), androgen deprivation therapy including surgical castration and medical castration, iodine-125 seed brachytherapy (125I limited), and chemotherapy were independent risk factors of MetS. The MetS incidence rates after treatment in ADT+125I limited+chemotherapy compared to RP+TURP+EBRT were statistically significant at the corresponding risk grade (all P < 0.001). After treatment, the occurrence rates of progressive incidences were higher in MetS-PCa patients compared to non-MetS-PCa patients (all P < 0.001). So, the findings suggested that among PCa patients, multiple factors contribute to the occurrence of MetS, and PCa treatment is one among them. ADT+125I limited+chemotherapy may be the most influential treatment for MetS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Animal models have shown that erectile dysfunction is associated with adipocyte accumulation under tunica albugínea, which could be involved in venous leakage and loss of penile rigidity. In the current sudy, we compared the histology of the penile sub-albuginean region of drug-refractory erectile dysfunction patients undergoing penile prosthesis implantation with potent patients with Peyronie's disease undergoing curvature correction procedures. MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventeen refractory erectile dysfunction patients and fourteen potent patients with Peyronie's disease were recruited. Sub-albuginean tissue samples were taken in each surgery. An expert uropathologist analysed each section. A bivariate analysis was performed. Multivariate logistic regression was used to calculate adjusted odds ratios; P value<.05 was considered significant. RESULTS Eleven patients (11/17) in the case group presented cavernous fat cell accumulation, while only one patient (1/14) in the control group presented this finding (P<.05). Adjusted odds ratio for erectile dysfunction was 40.72; 95% CI 2.28-727.29 (P=.012). CONCLUSIONS Different studies have shown that androgen disruption could be involved in penile structural changes, leading to trabecular smooth muscle apoptosis and trans or de-differentiation into adipocytes. This is the first prospective study in humans to report an association between erectile dysfunction and sub-albuginean adipocyte accumulation. Venous leakage secondary to this phenomenon could be a factor in the pathophysiology of erectile dysfunction, especially in patients that do not respond to medical therapy.

Abstract
Background Sexual dysfunction (SD) is very common in people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) and contributes a significant burden of disease, particularly for young people. SD has direct neurological contributions from depression and fatigue, which occur commonly in PwMS. Modifiable factors may represent potential targets for treatment and prevention of SD. We aimed to assess the prevalence of SD and explore associations between SD and demographic and modifiable risk factors, as well as depression and fatigue in a large cohort of PwMS. Methods We analysed self-reported data from a large, international sample of PwMS recruited via Web 2.0 platforms, including demographic, lifestyle and disease characteristics. Specific sexual function questions included 4 items from the sexual function scale and 1 item regarding satisfaction with sexual function, part of the MS Quality of Life-54 instrument. Results 2062 PwMS from 54 countries completed questions on sexual function. 81.1 % were women, mean age was 45 years, most (62.8 %) reported having relapsing-remitting MS. The majority (54.5 %) reported one or more problems with sexual function and were classified as having SD. Lack of sexual interest (41.8 % of women), and difficulty with erection (40.7 % of men) were most common. The median total sexual function score was 75.0 out of 100, and 43.7 % were satisfied with their sexual function. Regression modeling revealed independent associations between sexual function and satisfaction and a range of demographic factors, including age, as well as depression risk, antidepressant use, and fatigue in PwMS. Conclusion This cross-sectional study shows that SD and lack of satisfaction with sexual function are associated with depression risk and fatigue, as well as modifiable lifestyle factors diet and physical activity (after adjusting for depression and fatigue). Planned longitudinal follow-up of this sample may help clarify these associations and the underlying mechanisms. There is potential to prevent and treat SD in PwMS by addressing depression and fatigue and their determinants. Clinicians and PwMS should be aware of SD and associated factors as part of a comprehensive preventive approach to managing MS.
