Abstract
Turner syndrome (TS) affects 50 per 100 000 females. TS affects multiple organs through all stages of life, necessitating multidisciplinary care. This guideline extends previous ones and includes important new advances, within diagnostics and genetics, estrogen treatment, fertility, co-morbidities, and neurocognition and neuropsychology. Exploratory meetings were held in 2021 in Europe and United States culminating with a consensus meeting in Aarhus, Denmark in June 2023. Prior to this, eight groups addressed important areas in TS care: (1) diagnosis and genetics, (2) growth, (3) puberty and estrogen treatment, (4) cardiovascular health, (5) transition, (6) fertility assessment, monitoring, and counselling, (7) health surveillance for comorbidities throughout the lifespan, and (8) neurocognition and its implications for mental health and well-being. Each group produced proposals for the present guidelines, which were meticulously discussed by the entire group. Four pertinent questions were submitted for formal GRADE (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation) evaluation with systematic review of the literature. The guidelines project was initiated by the European Society for Endocrinology and the Pediatric Endocrine Society, in collaboration with members from the European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, the European Reference Network on Rare Endocrine Conditions, the Society for Endocrinology, and the European Society of Cardiology, Japanese Society for Pediatric Endocrinology, Australia and New Zealand Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, Latin American Society for Pediatric Endocrinology, Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, and the Asia Pacific Pediatric Endocrine Society. Advocacy groups appointed representatives for pre-meeting discussions and the consensus meeting.

Abstract
AIM AND OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to describe and understand how heterosexual women with Turner Syndrome experience sexuality. BACKGROUND Turner Syndrome is a genetic condition that is the result of one of the X chromosomes missing or partially missing, and it affects women of all ages. Turner Syndrome may lead to psychological, relational and sex life disorders. DESIGN This is a qualitative study, and the COREQ checklist was employed to report on the current study. METHODS The study was conducted in a region of southern Spain. Convenience and snowball sampling were used to recruit 18 women, aged 22-51 years, who had been diagnosed with Turner Syndrome. Participants' experiences were explored through semi-structured interviews between January and May 2021. Thematic analysis was used for data analysis. RESULTS Three main themes and eight sub-themes emerge from the data analysis: (1) Sexuality linked to corporeality, with the sub-themes: 'Discovering that your body is different', 'Social stigma limits one's sex life' and 'Fear of penetration surpresses sexual desire'. (2) Adapting one's sexuality to Turner Syndrome, with the sub-themes: 'Feeling like a woman' and 'Suffering from and adapting to comorbidities'. (3) When infertility overshadows sexuality, with the sub-themes: 'Prolonging childhood by ignoring sexuality', 'Fertility treatment: always a possibility' and 'Lack of specialised professional knowledge'. CONCLUSION Heterosexual women with Turner Syndrome suffer from sexual problems, delayed diagnosis and treatment, and lack of information. Unawareness and relational problems may also lead to scarce and late sexual relations, jealousy and a fear of being left. The women with Turner Syndrome refer to little self-exploration or masturbation as well as a fear of penetration. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE Understanding the experiences of sexuality in heterosexual women with Turner Syndrome is a challenge for clinical nurses, who could provide quality care to these women in contextualised services.

Abstract
Turner syndrome (TS) is caused by the absence of a part or whole X chromosome in a phenotypic female and has an estimated prevalence of 25-50/100,000 live-born females. The primary gynecologic manifestation of TS is primary ovarian insufficiency (POI), and the resulting hypoestrogenism and infertility are experienced by most individuals with TS. In this review, we summarize the recommendations for the care of adolescents and young adults with TS, with a focus on primary ovarian insufficiency in TS, hormone replacement therapy, fertility preservation, and pregnancy in TS.

Abstract
Kallmann syndrome (KS) is an uncommon genetic disorder characterized by isolated congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (CHH) and anosmia/hyposmia. KS originates from abnormal embryonic migration of olfactory axons and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)-synthesizing neurons. It can be challenging to diagnose due to its heterogeneous clinical presentation and genes implied. Herein, we report a rare phenotype of KS in two sisters accompanied by a variety of nonreproductive disorders such as hypoparathyroidism, hypercortisolism, atrophy of the cerebellum, intellectual disability, and remarkably, ovarian dysgenesis. Additionally, both subjects present muscle weakness, exercise intolerance, marked hypotonia and seizures, being suspected, although not fully confirmed, mitochondrial encephalomyopathy. These cases illustrate the heterogeneous clinical presentation and the diagnostic difficulties often found in patients suffering from this condition. These clinical features have never been described before as associated with KS; therefore, we decided to report this novel KS phenotype.

Abstract
CONTEXT Central congenital hypothyroidism (CH) requires lifelong medical treatment. The majority of children with central CH have multiple pituitary hormone deficiencies (MPHD), but in some cases central CH is isolated. Most pituitary hormone deficiencies are associated with impaired health-related quality of life (HRQoL). However, studies on HRQoL in central CH are lacking. OBJECTIVE To evaluate HRQoL and fatigue in children and young adults with central CH, as well as parent perspectives. DESIGN Nationwide cross-sectional study comparing HRQoL between early-detected central CH patients and unaffected siblings with the Pediatric Quality of Life inventory (PedsQL™) and PedsQL Multidimensional Fatigue Scale. Participants ≥ 8 years old filled in self-reports; parents of participants aged 3 to 18 years filled in parent reports. Isolated central CH patients, MPHD patients, and siblings were compared using a linear mixed model and Tukey's post hoc test. RESULTS Eighty-eight patients and 52 siblings participated, yielding 98 self-reports and 115 parent reports. Isolated central CH patients (n = 35) and siblings showed similar scores on all subscales, both in the self-reports and parent reports. For MPHD patients (n = 53), self-reported scores were similar to those of siblings. Parent reported total HRQoL and fatigue scores were significantly poorer in MPHD patients compared with siblings (mean differences -10.2 and -9.4 points; P < 0.01), as were scores for physical functioning, social functioning and general fatigue. CONCLUSION Self-reported HRQoL scores in isolated central CH and MPHD patients were similar to siblings. However, parents reported significantly lower HRQoL and fatigue scores for MPHD patients, suggesting a difference in perceived limitations between MPHD patients and their parents.

Abstract
(1) Background: Isolated hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH) is a genetic condition characterized by impaired puberty and fertility. IHH can significantly impact patient health-related quality of life (HRQoL), sexual satisfaction (SS) and mood. (2) Methods: Participants included 132 IHH subjects (89 men and 43 women) and 132 sex- and age-matched controls. HRQoL, depressive symptoms, erectile dysfunction (ED), and SS were assessed in an online survey using the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), 15D instrument of HRQoL (15D), Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (SSQ), and 5-item International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5). (3) Results: QoL and SS were significantly lower in the IHH group vs. controls. There was a high rate of ED (53.2% vs. 33%, p = 0.008) and depressive symptoms (45.00 ± 17.00 vs. 32.00 ± 12.00, p < 0.001) in patients vs. controls. The age of patients at IHH diagnosis inversely correlated with their overall 15D scores. An alarming non-compliance rate was seen (51.6%). No differences were found between scores of patients receiving hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and untreated subjects in any of the scales. (4) Conclusions: The HRQoL, SS, ED, and depression levels observed in IHH patients, despite HRT, are alarming. Late IHH diagnosis may have a particularly negative impact on HRQoL. More attention should be devoted to HRT adherence and various HRQoL aspects of IHH patients.

Abstract
Puberty is a remarkable period of postnatal development culminating in reproductive capacity. Biological changes of puberty are accompanied by social and emotional changes including psychosexual development. Developmental changes of adolescence are influenced by numerous biological, psychological and social influences. Work to date has identified associations between disrupted puberty (i.e. delayed, incomplete or absent) and psychosexual development. This brief review summarizes our current understanding of the psychosexual effects of delayed puberty and congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (Kallmann syndrome). The importance of psychosocial support and transitional care is highlighted and future directions are discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Turner syndrome (TS) affects approximately one out of 2500 females. Previous research indicates that women with TS experience impairment in several psychosocial domains as well as in quality of life (QoL). Data, however, mainly focus on girls, whereas data on adult women is extremely scarce, inconsistent and mainly low in sample size. Separate analysis of adult women, however, is important since women face other challenges of TS than girls. METHODS We compared 301 women with TS aged 16-73 years (from 14 centres in six European countries) to healthy controls with regard to depression, anxiety, self-esteem, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, romantic relationships, social participation, amount of working hours and satisfaction with income as well as with regard to psychological, physical, environmental, social and global QoL. The influence of psychosocial well-being on the different QoL-domains was examined via multiple regression models. RESULTS Women with TS showed impairments in all psychosocial variables (anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, self-esteem, social participation all p < 0.001) except for the amount of working hours (p = 0.062) and satisfaction with income (p = 0.369). They also showed lower social (p < 0.001), psychological (p < 0.001) and physical QoL (p < 0.001) compared to controls. Depression, satisfaction with income and self-esteem could be shown to be the best predictors for QoL. CONCLUSION In conclusion, quality of life in TS is impaired, in particular it seems to be negatively affected by depression and low self-esteem whereas satisfaction with income has a positive influence. These results implicate that medical staff needs to pay attention on possible psychosocial impairments when treating women with TS. Strengthening self-esteem and counteracting depression potentially raises their QoL.

Abstract
Turner syndrome (TS) is a genetic condition characterized by partial or complete monosomy X. Alterations in hormonal function, height, and peer relationships, among other features and correlates of TS, appear to be risks for depressive illness. In order to summarize what is known about depression in Turner syndrome, with the aim of determining whether individuals with TS are at increased risk for depression, a literature search and analysis were conducted. In total, 69 studies were identified and 35 met criteria of being peer-reviewed English language articles that collected original data on the experience of depression in individuals with TS. Most studies used patient or parent questionnaires to evaluate depressive symptoms. These studies, a majority of which examined adults and half that examined adolescents, found that individuals with TS experienced more frequent and severe depressive symptoms than individuals without TS diagnoses. Articles studying children with TS did not demonstrate a difference in their depressive experience compared to individuals without TS. Three articles used clinician-administered scales, such as the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV; all diagnosed depression in those with TS at higher rates than others. Five studies relied on expert opinion to evaluate depression. The remaining eight articles were case reports or case series that relied on expert opinion. From these data, we conclude that adolescents and adults with TS are at risk for depression and adulthood appears to be the period of the highest risk. Studies in the last 12 years show consistently more severe depressive symptoms in individuals with TS than in previous years. Implications, risk factors, and recommendations for future research are discussed.

Abstract
Turner syndrome is recognized now as a syndrome familiar not only to pediatricians and pediatric specialists, medical geneticists, adult endocrinologists, and cardiologists, but also increasingly to primary care providers, internal medicine specialists, obstetricians, and reproductive medicine specialists. In addition, the care of women with Turner syndrome may involve social services, and various educational and neuropsychologic therapies. This article focuses on the recognition and management of Turner syndrome from adolescents in transition, through adulthood, and into another transition as older women. It can be viewed as an interpretation of recent international guidelines, complementary to those recommendations, and in some instances, an update. An attempt was made to provide an international perspective. Finally, the women and families who live with Turner syndrome and who inspired several sections, are themselves part of the broad readership that may benefit from this review.

Abstract
For various reasons, sexuality of individuals with differences/disorders of sex development (DSD) may be affected. The aim of the study was to describe sexual activity, satisfaction with sex life, satisfaction with genital function, and sexual problems in people with different DSD conditions. Data were collected from 1,040 participants in Europe. Many people with a variety of DSD conditions do not appear to be satisfied with their sex life, experience a variety of sexual problems, and are less sexually active than the general population; therefore sexuality should be explicitly addressed in the care of people with DSD.

Abstract
Transition from pediatric to adult care for young women with Turner Syndrome (TS) is characterized by high drop-out rates and inadequate follow-up, leading to increased morbidity and mortality. The complexity of the health issues young women with TS face or new problems that may arise warrants a well-structured and efficiently coordinated gradual transition plan, which is adapted to the individual needs of the emerging young adult and is based on interdisciplinary communication between physicians. In order to achieve a high level of care, it is important for the patient to be sincerely informed about her condition but also supported throughout this critical period of rising responsibility and autonomy by an experienced, multidisciplinary team. In this review, we present the basic concepts that should characterize transition and the major health issues that should be thoroughly addressed, including growth, Hormone Replacement Treatment and fertility options, cardiovascular disease, bone health, gastrointestinal disorders, autoimmunity, orthopaedic and ENT issues, as well as the overall psychological well-being of the young adult with TS.

Abstract
Background Previous studies in quality of life (QOL) in individuals with disorders/differences of sex development (DSD) have been restricted to subpopulations of the condition. We describe QOL in adult persons with DSD compared to country specific references and assess the impact of diagnosis. Methods The multicentre cross-sectional clinical evaluation (dsd-LIFE) took place in 14 specialized clinics in six European countries. Adolescents (≥16 years) and adults having a DSD condition were included from 02/2014 to 09/2015. The main outcome QOL was measured by the WHOQOL-BREF (domains of physical health, psychological, social relationships, and environment). QOL was compared to country specific reference populations by using unpaired t-tests. Linear regression models explained the additional variance of the diagnosis on QOL. Results Three hundred one individuals with Turner Syndrome, 219 with Klinefelter Syndrome (including XYY), 226 with 46,XX CAH and 294 with rare DSD conditions (gonadal dysgenesis, androgen insensitivity syndrome, severe hypospadias, and androgen synthesis errors or other diagnosis) took part. Compared to healthy European populations, QOL was similar in psychological, slightly worse in physical health, and slightly better in environment. In social relationships, QOL was significantly poorer compared to healthy and non-healthy reference populations. In linear regression models health status was the most important predictor of QOL; additional variance was explained by feelings about household’s income in all domains, and the relationship status in social relationships. Diagnosis explained nearly no additional variance. Conclusions Except for social relationships, most people with DSD adapt well to their life circumstances and report a good QOL. Not diagnosis, but the individual’s health status is much more important than previously thought. Therefore care for people with DSD should focus more on chronic physical or mental health problems both related and unrelated to the diagnosis itself. Abstract
OBJECTIVE Little is known about how women with isolated GnRH deficiency cope with their condition. This study aimed to examine the health and informational needs of women with congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (CHH) and evaluate if their experiences differ from women with more common forms of infertility. DESIGN Cross-sectional, multiple methods study using web-based data collection to reach dispersed rare disease patients. METHODS A community-based participatory research framework was employed to develop an online survey and collect quantitative and qualitative data. Adult women diagnosed with CHH who had received at least one year of hormonal treatment completed the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale, Revised Illness Perception Questionnaire and Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale. Information on health care experiences, treatment outcomes and patient-reported challenges were also collected. RESULTS Women (n = 55) were often diagnosed late (20.7 ± 7.4, range: 10-48 years) and 16/20 patients receiving fertility treatment conceived. Poor adherence was frequently observed (34/55) while more than half (27/49) reported a gap in treatment exceeding a year. Low adherence correlated with depressive symptoms (r = 0.3, P > 0.05). Negative illness perceptions were pervasive and 30/55 exhibited some depressive symptoms - significantly greater than women with common female factor infertility (P < 0.01). Symptoms were underappreciated by providers as only 15 of 55 patients had discussions about psychological services. Women identified isolation, need for information and finding expert care as challenges to living with CHH. CONCLUSIONS Despite being a treatable form of female infertility, the presumable availability of treatment does not necessarily ensure adequate quality of life for women with isolated GnRH deficiency.

Abstract
Turner syndrome and idiopathic congenital hypogonadism including Kallmann syndrome are conditions associated to a large number of widely known comorbidities that need a medical support forever. One of the characteristics shared by both conditions is the lack of sexual development that influencing the sexuality functioning and quality of life of the affected women. Few studies have been conducted to assess these topics, but they need to be considered in the treatment to all women with hypogonadism. This review on the major medical issues and psychological aspects, also focus in the present knowledge about sexual function and quality of life of women with Turner syndrome and idiopathic congenital hypogonadism, which aims to help in the comprehensive management of these patients.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Androgens have been implicated as important for female sexual function and dysfunction. AIM To review the role of androgens in the physiology and pathophysiology of female sexual functioning and the evidence for efficacy of androgen therapy for female sexual dysfunction (FSD). METHODS We searched the literature using online databases for studies pertaining to androgens and female sexual function. Major reviews were included and their findings were summarized to avoid replicating their content. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Quality of data published in the literature and recommendations were based on the GRADES system. RESULTS The literature supports an important role for androgens in female sexual function. There is no blood androgen level below which women can be classified as having androgen deficiency. Clinical trials have consistently demonstrated that transdermal testosterone (T) therapy improves sexual function and sexual satisfaction in women who have been assessed as having hypoactive sexual desire disorder. The use of T therapy is limited by the lack of approved formulations for women and long-term safety data. Most studies do not support the use of systemic dehydroepiandrosterone therapy for the treatment of FSD in women with normally functioning adrenals or adrenal insufficiency. Studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of vaginal testosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone for the treatment of vulvovaginal atrophy are ongoing. CONCLUSION Available data support an important role of androgens in female sexual function and dysfunction and efficacy of transdermal T therapy for the treatment of some women with FSD. Approved T formulations for women are generally unavailable. In consequence, the prescribing of T mostly involves off-label use of T products formulated for men and individually compounded T formulations. Long-term studies to determine the safety of T therapy for women and possible benefits beyond that of sexual function are greatly needed.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Studies suggest younger women with Turner syndrome (TS) have good quality of life. Less is known about everyday functioning in adults with TS. In a 6-year follow-up study, multiple areas of functioning were compared between TS women and controls. DESIGN Women with TS and controls were mailed a self-report survey 6 years after a baseline study. PATIENTS Fifty-seven women with TS (M age 40·6 ± 11·1 years) and 101 controls (M age 38·8 ± 10·6 years, ns) responded. MEASUREMENTS Measures of background information, experienced life strain and presence/impact of health conditions were developed for this study. The QPS Nordic measured perceived workload challenges. The LiSat-9 measured life satisfaction. The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale measured self-esteem. RESULTS More TS women lived alone, fewer had biological children, and more had adoptive children. TS women reported fewer sex partners and less sexual confidence. Controls had higher education. There was no difference in employment status. More TS women received disability pensions. TS women reported their work as more physically challenging, less positively challenging and requiring less knowledge skills. TS women experienced more life strain in school, adolescence and late working life. Controls reported higher overall life satisfaction, with no difference between samples on specific domains. TS women reported lower self-esteem. For TS women only, physical health at baseline predicted length of education and mental health at baseline predicted self-esteem. CONCLUSIONS Women with TS face more challenges than controls on several domains of functioning. Early physical and mental health may influence later educational achievement and self-esteem for women with TS.

Abstract
UNLABELLED BACKGROUD/AIMS: Poor quality of life (QoL) has been reported in adults with growth hormone deficiency. Few studies have examined QoL in adults with childhood onset multiple pituitary hormone deficiencies (COMPHD). We evaluated QoL in adults with COMPHD. METHODS COMPHD participants aged ≥18 years were identified from hospital medical records and the clinics of one author (M.Z.). Age- and sex-matched controls were recruited for every participant. The World Health Organization QoL Questionnaire, the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale, the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the Male Sexual Quotient (MSQ) were used to measure QoL, psychological distress and psychosexual function. RESULTS Ninety-two (68.1%) patients (males 55%; mean age 29.7 years, range 18-61) participated. COMPHD was caused by a brain tumour in 63 (68.5%), congenital hypopituitarism in 19 (20.1%), other cancers in 7 (7.6%) and trauma in 3 (3.3%) patients. COMPHD participants were shorter and more overweight, reported more childhood behavioural problems and had less education, more unemployment, lower marital rates and incomes and fewer children compared to healthy controls (p < 0.05 for each). Although they scored lower in all QoL domains (p ≤ 0.001) and psychosexual function (FSFI and MSQ, p < 0.001), there was no difference in reported psychological distress (p = 0.119). QoL was influenced by background diagnosis and treatment in a subgroup analysis. CONCLUSION Adults with COMPHD have a significantly lower QoL compared to physically healthy peers. Difficulties in psychosocial and psychosexual function in these patients need to be addressed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Abnormal sex chromosome numbers in humans are observed in Turner (45,X) and Klinefelter (47,XXY) syndromes. Both syndromes are associated with several clinical phenotypes, whose molecular mechanisms are obscure, and show a range of inter-individual penetrance. In order to understand the effect of abnormal numbers of X chromosome on the methylome and its correlation to the variable clinical phenotype, we performed a genome-wide methylation analysis using MeDIP and Illumina's Infinium assay on individuals with four karyotypes: 45,X, 46,XY, 46,XX, and 47,XXY. RESULTS DNA methylation changes were widespread on all autosomal chromosomes in 45,X and in 47,XXY individuals, with Turner individuals presenting five times more affected loci. Differentially methylated CpGs, in most cases, have intermediate methylation levels and tend to occur outside CpG islands, especially in individuals with Turner syndrome. The X inactivation process appears to be less effective in Klinefelter syndrome as methylation on the X was decreased compared to normal female samples. In a large number of individuals, we verified several loci by pyrosequencing and observed only weak inter-loci correlations between the verified regions. This suggests a certain stochastic/random contribution to the methylation changes at each locus. Interestingly, methylation patterns on some PAR2 loci differ between male and Turner syndrome individuals and between female and Klinefelter syndrome individuals, which possibly contributed to this distinguished and unique autosomal methylation patterns in Turner and Klinefelter syndrome individuals. CONCLUSIONS The presented data clearly show that gain or loss of an X chromosome results in different epigenetic effects, which are not necessary opposite.

Abstract
Objective. In the process of care for disorders of sex development (DSD), clinical decisions should focus on the long-term quality of life (QOL). We sought to investigate the QOL of patients with DSD in China. Design. Case-control study was carried out. Patients. 90 patients of DSD participated in the study. Finally, 87 patients were analyzed including Turner's syndrome (23), Noonan syndrome (2), androgen insensitivity syndrome (22), testicular regression syndrome (2), congenital adrenal hyperplasia (16), and pure gonadal dysgenesis (22). Measurements. The WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire was chosen for the present investigation. Four domain scores were analyzed independently including physical, psychological, and social relationship and environmental domains. Results. The average age of the DSD group is 22.34 ± 4.97 years, and only 13.79% patients ever had sexual life. The scores of psychological and environmental domains were lower than that of the physical and social relationship domains, but the difference was not significant (P > 0.05). Compared with the Chinese urban population, the QOL scores of DSD patients in China were not significantly lower. Conclusions. With proper treatment, including the follow-up and psychological support, the QOL of DSD patients cannot be significantly reduced. For DSD patients, more attention should be paid to the potential psychological and sexual problems.

Abstract
Turner syndrome (TS) is the result of (partial) absence of one X-chromosome. Besides short stature, gonadal dysgenesis and other physical aspects, TS women have typical psychological features. Since psychological effects of androgen exposure in childhood probably are long-lasting, we explored long-term psychological functioning after oxandrolone (Ox) therapy during childhood in adults with TS in terms of neurocognition, quality of life and social-emotional functioning. During the initial study, girls were treated with growth hormone (GH) combined with placebo (Pl), Ox 0.03 mg/kg/day, or Ox 0.06 mg/kg/day from the age of eight, and estrogen from the age of twelve. Sixty-eight women participated in the current double-blinded follow-up study (mean age 24.0 years, mean time since stopping GH/Ox 8.7 years). We found no effects on neurocognition. Concerning quality of life women treated with Ox had higher anxiety levels (STAI 37.4 ± 8.4 vs 31.8 ± 5.0, p=0.002) and higher scores on the depression subscale of the SCL-90-R (25.7 ± 10.7 vs 20.5 ± 4.7, p=0.01). Regarding social-emotional functioning, emotion perception for fearful faces was lower in the Ox-treated patients, without effect on interpersonal behavior. Our exploratory study is the first to suggest that androgen treatment in adolescence possibly has long-term effects on adult quality of life and social-emotional functioning. However, differences are small and clinical implications of our results seem limited. Therefore we would not recommend against the use of Ox in light of psychological consequences.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To describe in practical terms the clinical management in adult life of patients with Turner syndrome. MATERIAL & METHODS Systematic review of the literature and practical issues. An evaluation of clinical trials, meta-analysis, case reports and reviews assessing the management of different conditions related to Turner syndrome was done using the following data sources: Medline, PubMed (from 1966 to July 2014) and the Cochrane Controlled Clinical Trials Register, Embase (up to July 2014). RESULTS Extracted information is summarized here on karyotype, screening of malformations, malformations debuting in adult life, final height, treatments with growth hormone, cardiovascular risk, endocrino-metabolic and liver abnormalities, sensorineural disorders and osteoporosis and its treatment. CONCLUSIONS This review provides recommendations for the management of adult patients with Turner syndrome and insight into the associated medical complaints. A link between karyotypes and clinical features suggests a novel hypothesis to explain the different phenotypes and clinical abnormalities of these patients.
