Abstract
Introduction Evolution of a patient-reported symptom-based risk stratification system to redesign the suspected head and neck cancer (HNC) referral pathway (EVEREST-HN) will use a broad and open approach to the nomenclature and symptomatology. It aims to capture and utilise the patient reported symptoms in a modern way to identify patients' clinical problems more effectively and risk stratify the patient. Method The review followed the PRISMA checklist for scoping reviews. A search strategy was carried out using Medline, Embase and Web of Science between January 1st 2012 and October 31st 2023. All titles, abstracts and full paper were screened for eligibility, papers were assessed for inclusion using predetermined criteria. Data was extracted pertaining to the aims, type of study, cancer type, numbers of patients included and symptoms, presenting complaints or signs and symptoms. Results There were 9,331 publications identified in the searches, following title screening 350 abstracts were reviewed for inclusion and 120 were considered for eligibility for the review. 48 publications met the eligibility criteria and were included in the final review. Data from almost 11,000 HNC patients was included. Twenty-one of the publications were from the UK, most were retrospective examination of patient records. Data was extracted and charted according to the anatomical area of the head and neck where the symptoms are subjectively and objectively found, and presented according to lay terms for symptoms, clinical terms for symptoms and the language of objective clinical findings. Discussion Symptoms of HNC are common presenting complaints, interpreting these along with clinical history, examination and risk factors will inform a clinician's decision to refer as suspected cancer. UK Head and Neck specialists believe a different way of triaging the referrals is needed to assess the clinical risk of an undiagnosed HNC. EVEREST-HN aims to achieve this using the patient history of their symptoms. This review has highlighted issues in terms of what is considered a symptom, a presenting complaint and a clinical finding or sign.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Although non-squamous tumors of the larynx are really rare, they may not always be viewed from the same perspective in the multidisciplinary treatment approach once the diagnosis is made. In this review, non-squamous tumors of the larynx and current approaches in treatment will be discussed. RECENT FINDINGS When the studies and meta-analyses presented in the last 5 years are evaluated, it is seen that these tumors usually show non-specific symptoms. Due to their submucosal location, the stage of the disease at the time of diagnosis is often advanced. In the literature, treatment may vary in these particular cases. The majority of non-squamous tumors of the larynx includes minor salivary gland tumors, neuroendocrine carcinomas, sarcomas, cartilage tumors, and malignant melanomas. Once treating a patient with these diagnoses, it should be kept in mind that the histopathological subtype is almost as important as the stage of the tumor.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Granular cell tumor of the larynx is an uncommon, typically benign lesion that may be confused for a malignant neoplasm based on histopathology. This review examines cases of granular cell tumor of the larynx in adults to highlight key distinctions in diagnosis/management and demonstrate how misclassification may lead to unnecessary escalations in therapy. DATA SOURCES AND METHODS A systematic search of PubMed, Ovid, and EBSCO Search Hosts was completed in December 2021. The search yielded 501 articles with 87 full-text articles included in the review. Primary search terms included granular cell, tumor, larynx, and adult. Primary endpoints were patient presentation, primary management, pathological features, and disease course. RESULTS A systematic review of 87 articles identified 200 patients with granular cell tumors (GCTs) of the larynx. Of the 200 patients, 50.3% were males and 49.7% were females. Of these, 54.0% were reported as white patients, and 46.0% were reported as black patients. The most common presenting symptoms were dysphonia (85.9%) and stridor/dyspnea (14.1%). On examination, the lesions were most commonly polypoid/nodular and firm. Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia (PEH) was identified in 33.5% of cases, and 2% of cases were malignant. GCTs were misdiagnosed as other malignant lesions in 11% of cases. In benign cases, 13.5% of patients underwent additional surgeries beyond simple excision/laryngofissure, including laryngectomy and neck dissection. Less than 2% of lesions reoccurred. CONCLUSION Granular cell tumors of the larynx are typically benign lesions that may be misdiagnosed with unnecessary escalation of treatment. Abstract
(1) Background: Non-squamous cell laryngeal carcinoma includes endothelial tumors, such as minor salivary gland tumors, lymphoepithelial tumors, neuroendocrine tumors, soft and hard tissue sarcomas, and malignant melanomas. (2) Methods: A state-of-the-art review using the MEDLINE/PUBMED, Google Scholar, Ovid Medline, Embase, and Scopus electronic databases was performed. (3) Conclusions: In order to optimize overall treatment outcomes, a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to the management of non-SCC of the larynx must be adopted universally; a national or international registry on non-SCC laryngeal cancer can be useful to improve understanding about the behavior of this kind of tumor.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Kaposi sarcoma (KS) of the larynx is a rare disease with few cases reported in the literature. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of laryngeal KS, including patient characteristics, treatment, and clinical outcomes. DATA SOURCES PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS, and Cochrane Library. REVIEW METHODS A systematic review of the published English literature was conducted. An electronic search and bibliographic examination of articles pertaining to laryngeal KS were performed. Demographic data, tumor site, treatment strategies, follow-up, and outcome were analyzed. RESULTS A total 77 cases from 50 articles were included in the review. The mean age was 47.6 years (range, 8-81). There was an 8.6:1 male:female ratio. The most common presenting symptoms were dyspnea (n = 35) and hoarseness (n = 25). Laryngeal KS arose most frequently in the supraglottic region (n = 16). Chemotherapy alone (n = 27) was the most common treatment modality in patients with AIDS-associated KS, and surgical excision alone (n = 7) was most common in patients with other subtypes of KS (eg, classic, transplant associated). Average follow-up was 20.4 months (range, 0.75-120). Most patients with AIDS-associated KS died of other causes (n = 25), but most patients with other subtypes of KS were alive with no evidence of disease at follow-up (n = 13). CONCLUSION This review contains the largest pool of laryngeal KS cases to date. Long-term outcomes were generally unfavorable, often due to advanced HIV disease at the time of diagnosis.

Abstract
Laryngeal chondrosarcomas (LCS) are rare lesions that behave as locally aggressive tumours, producing symptoms such as dysphonia, dyspnoea, dysphagia and hoarseness. Different approaches for the treatment of LCS have been described in the literature. The main purpose of this investigation was to find all cases of LCS published to date and analyse management data and survival outcomes. In December 2020, a systematic review was performed following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and the Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS) method including articles published up to this date on different aspects of LCS. The search included the terms larynx, laryngeal, chondrosarcoma. A total of 148 articles were included in this systematic review describing 381 cases of LCS. Dyspnoea was the most reported symptom followed by hoarseness and neck mass sensation. Cricoid cartilage was the most usual location. Survival rate was influenced by both surgical technique (log-rank = 11.7; p = 0.008) and the degree of tumour histologic differentiation (log-rank = 18.3; p = 0.003).

Abstract
Laryngeal adult-type hemangiomas are very rare lesions, more frequent in men, whose optimal treatment consists of microlaryngoscopical excision. We herein report a case of larynx cavernous hemangioma in a 64-year-old woman with hoarseness for about six months. Histologically, the tumor was composed of multiple vessels embedded in an edematous stroma.

Primary sarcomas of the larynx: A report of three cases and literature review. SRP ARK CELOK LEK 2022. Abstract
Introduction. Primary sarcomas are uncommonly seen in larynx and comprise
around 1% of all laryngeal malignant tumors. We present three cases of
patients with different types of laryngeal sarcomas and discuss about
diagnostic and treatment difficulties. Case outline. Each patient presented
with hoarseness and shortness of breath. Computed tomography scans showed
large transglottic tumors of the larynx with no signs of cervical
lymphadenopathy and definitive diagnoses of sarcomas were made by
pathologists. Each patient underwent total laryngectomy with clear resection
margins. Patient with laryngeal leiomyosarcoma developed large locoregional
relapse of malignant disease and pulmonary metastasis four months after
surgery and patient with laryngeal osteosarcoma was diagnosed with
inoperative locoregional relapse of malignant disease three months after
surgery. Both patients died within six months after surgery. On the other
hand, patient with laryngeal chondrosarcoma was disease-free during
three-year follow-up. Conclusion. Primary laryngeal sarcomas have low
incidence and they differ from SCC by their biological characteristics and
behavior. Radical surgical resection remains the mainstay of treatment with
uncertain outcome due to their high potential for recurrence or metastatic
spread.

Abstract
Purpose Non-squamous cell carcinoma (non-SCC) accounts for about 5% of laryngeal malignancies. Survival data are limited, and consensus on management principles is lacking. The present study reviews our experience in the surgical treatment of non-metastatic non-SCC of the larynx and compares oncological and functional outcomes in a cohort of patients affected by traditional SCC. Methods We collected data on 592 patients affected by laryngeal neoplasms. Univariate and multivariable survival analyses were performed using Cox proportional-hazards models; survival estimates were reported by hazard ratios (HR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI), and survival curves were established with the Kaplan–Meier method. Results We identified 326 patients affected by untreated SCC, while 21 had non-SCC histotypes. The non-SCC cohort was composed of 5 soft tissue sarcomas, 8 chondrosarcomas, 2 adenoid cystic carcinomas, 2 neuroendocrine carcinomas, 2 solitary fibrous tumors, 1 Kaposi’s sarcoma, and 1 malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. Overall survival and disease-specific survival were not significantly different according to histology (p = 0.6 and p = 0.349, respectively). The non-SCC group showed an increased risk of recurrence (HR 5.87; CI95 2.15–16.06; p < 0.001). Nonetheless, no significant difference (p = 0.31) was found at multivariable analysis between the two groups in total laryngectomy-free survival with an organ preservation rate over 5 years of 81% for the non-SCC histologies. Conclusion Non-SCC is a broad spectrum pathology, but generalized laryngeal surgical management principles are still feasible and it is possible to identify patients amenable to conservative surgical treatment without affecting survival. Abstract
A rare observation of ossifying fibromyxoid tumor of the larynx in a 23-year-old young man is presented. Surgical intervention, performed in two stages, provided a positive result. With dynamic observation of this patient for three years, continued growth and tumor recurrence were not observed. Due to the fact that ossifying fibromyxoid tumor is rare, differs in the complexity of differential diagnosis and an uncertain prognosis of the course of the disease, registration and dispensary observation of patients with this pathology is necessary.

Abstract
Primary sarcomas of the larynx are rare and are associated with diagnostic and treatment challenges. Studies of these tumors are limited, and most examples have been reported as small series. To further increase our understanding of laryngeal sarcomas, we reviewed our experience of an adult cohort. A retrospective search for laryngeal sarcomas from our pathology archives and consultation files of one of the authors was performed. We studied 27 primary laryngeal sarcomas that included 25 males, and 2 females, with a mean age of 60 years (range 33-85). The cases included conventional chondrosarcoma (16), well-differentiated liposarcoma (2), clear cell chondrosarcoma (1), leiomyosarcoma (2), high grade myxofibrosarcoma (2), high grade myofibroblastic sarcoma (1), low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma (1), malignant granular cell tumor (1), and Kaposi sarcoma (1). Data on treatment and follow-up was available in 17 and 16 cases, respectively. 12 patients underwent partial laryngeal resection; five had total laryngectomy, and the patient with Kaposi sarcoma received combined highly active antiretroviral therapy and chemotherapy. Three patients developed local recurrence, and two patients developed metastases. The remaining patients with follow up had a favorable outcome and were disease-free after treatment. The important differential diagnosis of spindle cell sarcoma is sarcomatoid squamous cell carcinoma, and their distinction often requires extensive sampling of the mucosal surface and immunohistochemical analysis. The mainstay of treatment for laryngeal sarcomas is surgical removal, with the extent dictated by tumor type and grade. Adjuvant therapy is reserved for high-grade sarcomas and may be given in a neoadjuvant or adjuvant setting.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Laryngeal sarcoma is rare. We performed a systematic review and individual patient analysis to evaluate the patterns of care, prognostic factors, and role of radiotherapy in laryngeal soft tissue sarcoma. METHODS A systematic search on PubMed and Google scholar was done. An individual patient data analysis was done. RESULTS Of the 300 cases of laryngeal sarcoma, 80% underwent surgery. 44% underwent larynx preservation surgery and 25% received radiotherapy with surgery. Median progression free survival (PFS) was 48 months and overall survival (OS) of 224 months for the entire cohort. Patients with large primary, cartilage invasion, and positive margins had numerically worse PFS. Cartilage invasion and primary tumor size >3 cm were the most common risk factors for adjuvant radiation therapy. Patients receiving radiotherapy were not associated with better survival. CONCLUSION Laryngeal sarcoma associated with a good survival. Larynx preservation surgery is feasible in nearly half patients. Adjuvant radiotherapy may be warranted in patients poor prognostic factors.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Granular cell tumors of the larynx are exceedingly rare in the pediatric population. The purpose of this review is to further characterize features of these tumors and trends in their management. METHODS A search of the PubMed, Ovid Medline and Cochrane Collaboration databases was undertaken using the terms: pediatric, child, laryngeal, larynx, granular cell tumor, granular cell myoblastoma, benign mass. RESULTS A total of 38 children with laryngeal granular cell tumor were identified. Their ages ranged from 4 to 16 years. The most common presenting symptom was dysphonia. Five patients were previously treated for asthma. Within the laryngeal subsites, 49% presented with subglottic tumors, while 43% were found at the level of the glottis. Subglottic tumors were found anteriorly 42% of the time and posteriorly 53% of the time. Multifocal disease was present in four patients. Around half of patients were treated by cold steel excision and/or CO2 laser, 31% through laryngofissure, and two required laryngectomy. There were four documented cases of recurrence ranging from 4 months to 3 years after treatment. CONCLUSIONS Laryngeal granular cell tumor during childhood occurs most commonly in the subglottis. Posterior laryngeal tumors were more frequent than anterior tumors. Patients should be carefully evaluated for multifocal disease. Long-term surveillance for recurrence is recommended.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumours (IMT) are rare benign neoplasms in the pediatric population, found most frequently in the lungs with rare reports of laryngeal involvement. The aim of this paper is to present a clinical case of laryngeal IMT followed by a systematic review on pediatric laryngeal IMT. CASE REPORT We present the case and the management of a 13-year-old boy with a laryngeal IMT MATERIAL AND METHODS: A comprehensive review of literature was conducted in September 2019 using Pubmed and Scopus. Included articles were reviewed for mean age at presentation, gender, main symptoms, treatment modality, histopathological features and follow-up RESULTS: Sixteen cases of pediatric laryngeal IMT were reported in the literature. The mean age of presentation was 7 years; endoscopic surgical resection was used in 87% of procedures, and the mean number of interventions needed to achieve remission was 1.6. CONCLUSIONS Pediatric laryngeal IMT are rare benign proliferations with only 16 reported case in the medical literature. The diagnosis of this entity remains a challenge and the standard of care is surgery with clear margins.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Anastomosing hemangioma (AH) is a novel tumor of vascular origin. Though well-documented in the kidney and retroperitoneum, only a single case has been documented in the head and neck, and AH in larynx has not been described. METHODS A 37-year-old male presented with difficulty in breathing, and hoarseness. Imaging revealed a lesion involving left paraglottic and cricothyroid spaces with destruction of cricoid cartilage, suggestive of a malignant cartilageneous neoplasm. Multiple biopsies were non-diagnostic. RESULTS Intraoperative frozen section during transcervical resection showed a vascular tumor devoid of nuclear atypia. Histopathological examination revealed a vasoformative tumor comprised of anastomosing capillary-sized vessels lined by flat and hobnail endothelial cells, consistent with AH. The patient was disease-free at 12 months. CONCLUSION AH are rare neoplasms that may mimic a malignancy on imaging, especially in sites where they have not been documented. Due to their vascular nature, biopsies are often non-diagnostic, making preoperative diagnosis difficult. Frozen section may assist in decision-making on the extent of resection required.

Abstract
Background Laryngeal sarcoma is an extremely rare malignant tumor of larynx and usually reported as case reports or small series. At present, there is no research based on big data about the prognostic factors affecting laryngeal sarcoma. Our study aimed to investigate the prognostic survival factors of laryngeal sarcoma and develop a comprehensive nomogram for predicting the survival of laryngeal sarcoma. Methods Data were obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to find patients diagnosed with laryngeal sarcoma from 1998 to 2016. The data were obtained using SEER Stat 8.3.5 software, collated, and analyzed by Excel 2016 software and SPSS (v25.0). Kaplan-Meier curves were used for survival analysis. The variables obtained by univariate analysis were introduced into the Cox proportional hazard model for multivariate analysis. The risk factors affecting the prognosis of laryngeal sarcoma were obtained (P<0.05 indicated statistical significance). The independent prognostic factors of laryngeal sarcoma were integrated and used to construct a nomogram. Results A total of 381 patients with laryngeal sarcoma were included. The median age of diagnosis was 67 years. The proportion of patients who had received surgical treatment was 62.73%, while 22.31% of patients had received no surgery. The 1-, 3-, 5-, and 10-year survival rates were 87%, 76%, 61%, and 45%, respectively. The median survival time was 102.35 months. Univariate analysis showed that increased age, primary site, pathology, pathological grade, and surgical treatment were significantly correlated with patient survival time and were risk factors for the patients' prognosis. Race, gender, and even lymph node metastasis were not significantly correlated with patient prognosis. The risk factors obtained from the univariate analysis were incorporated into the Cox risk model for multivariate analysis, the independent risk factors for prognosis of patients were: age (HR 1.569, 95% CI: 1.358–1.813, P<0.005), pathology (HR 0.834, 95% CI: 0.734–0.948, P<0.005), pathological grade (HR 1.433, 95% CI: 1.164–1.764, P<0.001), surgical treatment (HR 0.778, 95% CI: 0.696–0.870, P<0.000), primary site was excluded (P=0.092). We included all the risk factors from the multi-factor analysis to construct a nomogram, and the C-index value was 0.73, indicating that it was well-calibrated in the medium and long term. Conclusions Laryngeal sarcoma is a rare malignant tumor of the larynx, which most often affects people between the ages of 50 and 79 and males. Our study shows that age, pathology, pathological grade, surgical treatment may be the risk factors for patients’ prognosis. Based on this, we constructed a nomogram model with a prediction accuracy of 73% that could help clinicians make decisions on an individual basis.

Abstract
Granular cell tumour is a rare, benign tumour that may arise in the soft tissues of various locations. It is often asymptomatic; hence, it gets misdiagnosed as other conditions. This is a case of an asymptomatic 50-year-old male with an incidental finding of a supraglottic lesion during routine oesophagogastroscopy. Examination under general anaesthetic showed a whitish non-ulcerating exophytic lesion on the laryngeal surface of the epiglottis, sparing anterior commissure and vocal cords. Surgical excision was performed with an open supraglottic laryngectomy approach. Histopathology confirmed GCT, strongly positive for S-100 protein and weakly positive for CD68. Accurate histologic analysis is a key to identify this rare tumour among other differentials. Although benign, ongoing monitoring is advised due to risk of recurrence.

Primary Sarcomas of the Larynx: A Single Institutional Experience with Ten Cases. Head Neck Pathol 2019; 14:707-714. Abstract
Sarcomas infrequently arise in the larynx where the vast majority of tumors are of epithelial origin. Given their rarity, studies of these lesions are limited in number. In this series, we describe our institutional experience with ten primary sarcomas of the larynx encountered over an 18 year period, comprising 1.9% of all laryngeal malignancies observed in this timeframe. The cases include four chondrosarcomas and one example each of osteosarcoma, embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, undifferentiated spindle cell sarcoma, well-differentiated liposarcoma, Kaposi sarcoma, and synovial sarcoma. Patients included nine males and one female, with a mean age of 59 years (range 34-75). The mean clinical follow-up time was 3.4 years (range 0-12 years). Clinically, all patients presented with vocal and/or respiratory symptoms, and all received surgical treatment with the exception of the case of Kaposi sarcoma. Of the nine patients who underwent surgical excision, two, both chondrosarcomas, experienced local recurrence. No instances of distant metastasis or death of disease had occurred at the time of preparation of this manuscript. In conclusion, primary sarcomas of the larynx are rare but tend to present with early symptoms. This likely allows for earlier detection and intervention as compared to their counterparts in other deep soft tissue locations. Pathologically, it is important, although difficult in some cases, to distinguish these neoplasms from sarcomatoid carcinoma and reactive processes. Careful morphologic and immunohistochemical evaluation, as well as correlation with the clinical and radiologic findings, is important for accurate tumor classification.

Abstract
Introduction The tissues of the laryngeal region only rarely harbor primary cartilaginous lesions, and squamous cell carcinoma remains the most frequently encountered malignant tumor in this area. Materials and Methods We reviewed the salient histological features of cartilaginous laryngeal lesions to provide differential diagnostics and guidelines for distinguishing the benign from the malignant ones. Results Cartilaginous neoplasms of the larynx include chondroma and chondrosarcoma. Among the overarching group of all forms of laryngeal sarcoma, chondrosarcoma forms the most common entity in the larynx, followed by rhabdomyosarcoma. Cartilaginous tumors comprise about 0.1%–1% of all laryngeal neoplasms with chondrosarcomas being more frequently encountered than chondromas. Several neoplasms earlier reported as giant-cell tumors of the larynx would most likely, using current terminology, be classified as cases of undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (previously known as malignant fibrous histiocytoma, giant-cell variant) or aneurysmal bone cyst. Conclusion When true laryngeal sarcomas do exist, they may prove to be challenging lesions both for the pathologist and the treating clinician. The diagnostic problems are mainly a result of the infrequent exposure of clinicians and diagnosticians to these lesions.

Abstract
PURPOSE Laryngeal neoplasms are almost always epithelial in origin and squamous cell carcinoma is the most common tumor of the larynx. Non-epithelial tumors make a small subset of laryngeal neoplasms. We present the experience of a single institution to define clinical presentations and outcomes. MATERIALS AND METHODS The pathology archives and clinical records of our center with the diagnosis of laryngeal tumors between the 2005 and 2018 were reviewed. Age, gender, symptoms, location of the tumor, histopathological diagnosis, treatment modality and disease status were discussed. RESULTS 657 patients were diagnosed with laryngeal tumor between 2005 and 2018 and 13 patients with non-epithelial tumors were identified. The majority of the patients were male. The age ranged between 13 and 93 years. The most common tumor localizations were vocal cords and subglottis. Seven patients were diagnosed with malignant tumors and six patients had benign tumors. Chondrosarcoma was the most common malignant mesenchymal tumor. Others were leiomyosarcoma, fibrosarcoma and liposarcoma. The most common benign non-epithelial tumors were schwannoma and hemangioma. Plexiform neurofibroma and granular cell tumor were the other benign tumors. Eleven patients underwent excisional biopsy. One patient underwent partial laryngectomy and one had total laryngectomy. Three cases presented with recurrent tumor. Among the recurrent cases, two were malignant tumors. CONCLUSION Non-epithelial tumors of the larynx are rare and have a wide histological diversity. Immunohistochemical studies are of great importance in the diagnosis of these tumors. Primary mesenchymal tumors of the larynx should be kept in mind in differential diagnosis.

Abstract
Primary sarcomas of the larynx are rare and miscellaneous. The most common is chondrosarcoma. Other sarcomas are very rare. Sarcomas can have heterogeneous morphologic features of spindle, small round, epithelioid, pleomorphic and giant cells. Laryngeal sarcomas may mimic carcinomas, lymphomas, small cell carcinoma, mesothelioma and melanoma. This imposes diagnostic challenges for unfamiliar pathologists particularly in small laryngeal biopsies. Our aim was to study the different types of sarcomas that can involve the larynx in our institution, to investigate their diagnostic challenges and potential pitfalls and to find helpful histologic clues to avoid misinterpretation and missed diagnosis. We performed a retrospective review study over 13 years. We retrieved 5 cases of laryngeal sarcomas. They included Kaposi sarcoma, low-grade chondrosarcoma, epithelioid angiosarcoma, polypoid leiomyosarcoma and small cell osteosarcoma. The age range was between 32 and 74 years with an average age of 52 years. The male to female ratio was 3:2. The Kaposi sarcoma and chondrosarcoma were correctly diagnosed. The angiosarcoma was initially missed as recurrent carcinoma. The leiomyosarcoma was initially inferred as polypoid sarcomatoid squamous cell carcinoma. The small cell osteosarcoma initiated the differential diagnosis of high-grade lymphoma, small cell carcinoma, undifferentiated carcinoma, Ewing sarcoma and rhabdomyosarcoma. An implementation of a panel of immunohistochemical markers guided by certain histomorphologic clues was helpful to make the correct diagnosis. Pathologists should be aware of the morphologic spectrum and different growth patterns of laryngeal sarcomas. Immunohistochemistry studies are essential. Correct diagnosis, classification and grading of laryngeal sarcomas are clinically important for the prognosis and appropriate management of patients.
