Abstract
In this investigation, a novel alginate complex was developed for the selective separation of molybdenum (Mo(VI)) ions from some rare earth elements (REEs). In this regard, alginate as a natural polysaccharide was impregnated and modified with 2-hydroxy-5-nonylacetophenone oxime (Lix-84) and characterized using FT-IR, TGA/DTA and SEM-EDX. The relation between medium acidity, adsorption kinetics, sorbent dose, isotherm models, temperature and Mo(VI) recovery was investigated. It was concluded that the impregnation stage promoted the Mo(VI) separation. The kinetics and isotherm data were well-fitted and matched with the pseudo-first-order model and Langmuir isotherm model; respectively. The Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity of Mo(VI) reached 72.2 mg/g. The developed material showed excellent separation performance towards Mo ions over the investigated REEs. The desorption and recovery of the loaded Mo(VI) ions were achieved using 1.0 M HCl. Reutilization of Alg/Lix-84 was confirmed up to three adsorption-desorption cycles with no damage of the beads as proved with SEM analysis. The adsorption mechanism of molybdenum onto Alg/Lix-84 was elucidated through FTIR and XPS measurements and was found to be governed by both electrostatic interaction and ion exchange. Therefore, the developed material has a promising potential for the selective separation of molybdenum from REEs-containing solution.

Abstract
A new approach for extraction of 99Mo tracer as a lighter homolog of Seaborgium (Sg) by three different the ionic liquids are studied. Aliquat-336 [Aliq-336.Cl-] as anion exchange has been used for the preparation of three ionic liquid, namely: ([Aliq-336]+ [SCN]-), ([Aliq-336]+ [S]- ) and ([Aliq-336]+ [Fe(CN)6]-). Their potential extraction of carrier free 99Mo from HNO3 solutions has been evaluated. The obtained results demonstrated that successful extraction of carrier free 99Mo from HNO3 solutions is achieved. The ([Aliq-336]+ [Fe(CN)6]-) is found to give the highest extraction affinity for 99Mo than the others ionic liquids investigated. The preliminary results could be useful for the upcoming aqueous experiments of Seaborgium.

Abstract
Abstract
No-carrier-added (nca) rhenium isotopes (182,182m,183Re) were produced by irradiation with 30 MeV α particles on natural tantalum target. The short-lived 182,182mRe were allowed to decay and long-lived nca 183Re was separated from bulk tantalum matrix by aqueous biphasic system (ABS) using 2 M solutions of nine different salts, namely, Na2SO4, Na2SO3, NaHSO3, Na2S2O3, Na2HPO4, Na2CO3, Na-citrate, Na-tartrate, and (NH4)2SO4 as salt rich phases against 50% (w/w) PEG-4000 as polymer rich phase at room temperature. The influence of temperature and thermodynamic parameters Δ Hº and Δ Sº were obtained for the partition of 183Re and tantalum in these systems. Nca 183Re was extracted in high amount in polymer rich phases irrespective of the salt rich phases. Bulk tantalum showed tendency to remain in salt rich phases. ABSs with PEG-4000 polymer rich phase in combination with Na2SO4, Na2SO3, NaHSO3, Na2HPO4, Na2CO3, Na-citrate and Na-tartrate as salt rich phases at basic pH and at ambient temperature (27 ºC) offered single-step separation between nca 183Re and bulk Ta. When Na2S2O3 and (NH4)2SO4 were used as salt rich phase, slight extraction of bulk tantalum was observed in PEG-4000 rich phase. The dynamic dissociation constant of 183Re-PEG-4000 complex was measured by dialysis of the PEG-rich phase against de-ionised water. The k
dissociation value was found as low as 0.0185 min−1. Therefore, it is possible to have pure 183Re in de-ionized water immediately after the dialysis.
