Abstract
Diminishing the charge recombination rate by improving the photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is essential for better water oxidation. In this concern, this research explores the competent approach to enhance the PEC performance of g-C3N4 nanosheets (NSs), creating their nanocomposites (NCs) with metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived porous CeO2 nanobars (NBs) along with ZnO nanorods (NRs) and TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs). The synthesis involved preparing CeO2 NBs and g-C3N4 NSs through the calcination of respective precursors, while the sol-gel method is employed for ZnO NRs and TiO2 NPs. Following the subsequent analysis of the physicochemical properties of the materials, the binder-free brush-coating method is deployed to fabricate NC-based photoanodes, followed by an evaluation of the PEC performance through various electrochemical techniques. Remarkably, the binary g-C3N4/CeO2 NCs with 20 wt % CeO2 NBs (gC20 NCs) exhibited a significantly enhanced current density of 0.460 mA/cm2 at 1.23 V vs reversible hydrogen electrode, which is 2.3 times greater than that of bare g-C3N4 NSs (0.195 mA/cm2). Further improvements are observed with ternary gC20/TiO2 (gCT50) and gC20/ZnO (gCZ50) NCs, achieving current densities of 1.810 and 1.440 mA/cm2, respectively. These enhanced current densities are attributed to increased donor densities, reduced charge transfer resistances, and efficient charge transport within the NCs. In addition, higher surface areas with beneficial instinctive defects are perceived for gCT50 and gCZ50 NCs, as revealed by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller and electron spin resonance analysis. Finally, the stability of gCZ50 and gCT50 NC-based photoanodes is predicted and forecasted with the help of the recurrent neural network-based long short-term memory technique. Overall, this study demonstrates the efficacy of organic-inorganic hybrids for efficient photoanodes, facilitating advancements in water-splitting studies.

Abstract
Building S-scheme heterostructures is a sophisticated approach to receiving outstanding catalysts for environmental detoxification. Herein, ternary CuO/Cd0.5Zn0.5S/Bi5O7I (CO/CZS/BOI) nanocomposites were constructed by in-situ decorating of CuO and Cd0.5Zn0.5S nanoparticles onto Bi5O7I micro-sphere in a facile route. The optimal CO/CZS/BOI reflected reinforced bisphenol A (BPA) photo-oxidation (95% in 70 min) and Cr(VI) photo-reduction (96.6 in 60 min) under visible light. Besides, CO/CZS/BOI afforded 5.10 (4.44), 4.42 (3.71), and 6.60 (5.27) fold reinforcement in the BPA (Cr(VI)) photo-reaction rate compared to BOI, CZS, and CO, respectively. This behavior was linked to the development of S-scheme mechanisms resulting from the co-effects of BOI, CZS, and CO in retaining the optimum redox capacity, facilitating the dissolution of photo-carriers, increasing reactive sites, and strengthening the visible-light response. The parameters influencing the catalytic reaction of CO/CZS/BOI, such as light intensity, catalyst dosage, and pH, were deeply studied. The quenching tests declared the prominent roles •O2- and •OH in the breaking down of BPA and the participation of electrons and •O2- in the photocatalytic conversion of Cr(VI). The cyclic tests verified the robust photostability of CO/CZS/BOI, which is associated with the reintegration process between the free h+ coming from CZS and the photo-induced e- of CO and BOI in the S-scheme system. In conclusion, the present study provides a profound understanding of the photo-reaction mechanism of CO/CZS/BOI and introduces a novel concept for constructing a superior dual-Scheme system for efficient wastewater detoxification.

Abstract
In this study, heterostructured g-C3N4/Ag-TiO2 nanocomposites were successfully fabricated using an easily accessible hydrothermal route. Various analytical tools were employed to investigate the surface morphology, crystal structure, specific surface area, and optical properties of as-synthesized samples. XRD and TEM characterization results provided evidence of the successful fabrication of the ternary g-C3N4/Ag-TiO2 heterostructured nanocomposite. The heterostructured g-C3N4/Ag-TiO2 nanocomposite exhibited the best degradation efficiency of 98.04% against rhodamine B (RhB) within 180 min under visible LED light irradiation. The g-C3N4/Ag-TiO2 nanocomposite exhibited an apparent reaction rate constant 13.16, 4.7, and 1.33 times higher than that of TiO2, Ag-TiO2, and g-C3N4, respectively. The g-C3N4/Ag-TiO2 ternary composite demonstrated higher photocatalytic activity than pristine TiO2 and binary Ag-TiO2 photocatalysts for the degradation of RhB under visible LED light irradiation. The improved photocatalytic performance of the g-C3N4/Ag-TiO2 nanocomposite can be attributed to the formation of an excellent heterostructure between TiO2 and g-C3N4 as well as the incorporation of Ag nanoparticles, which promoted efficient charge carrier separation and transfer and suppressed the rate of recombination. Therefore, this study presents the development of heterostructured g-C3N4/Ag-TiO2 nanocomposites that exhibit excellent photocatalytic performance for the efficient degradation of harmful organic pollutants in wastewater, making them promising candidates for environmental remediation.

Abstract
Heterogeneous catalysis is widely known as an efficient, clean, and low-cost technology to mitigate the environmental pollution of industrial effluents. This research aimed at optimizing the preparation and characterization of efficient g-C3N4/Co3O4 nanocomposite for catalytic removal of Rhodamine B (Rh B) dye. The detected XRD peaks for the prepared nano-Co3O4 are matched with the cubic crystal structure. In contrast, the broad peak at 27.3° corresponding to the graphite reflection of hkl (002) was noticeably weakened in the XRD pattern of the g-C3N4/Co3O4 composite. FTIR spectra of g-C3N4/Co3O4 nanocomposites revealed the active vibrational modes of each Co3O4 and g-C3N4 component. The microstructure study of g-C3N4 showed the strong interlayer stacking of carbon nitride nanosheets, while the surface morphology of g-C3N4/Co3O4 nanocomposite revealed a hybrid particulate system. EDS analysis indicated that the spot area of g-C3N4/Co3O4 confirmed the chemical ratios of carbon, nitrogen, cobalt, and oxygen. BET measurements of g-C3N4/Co3O4 showed a significant increase in the surface area and pore volume of single components due to the lamination of stacked g-C3N4 nanosheets by the intercalated Co3O4 nanoparticles. The prepared 30% g-C3N4/Co3O4 revealed the lowest value of Eg ~1.2 eV and the highest light absorptivity suggesting strong promotion for the photocatalytic performance under visible light. The maximum photocatalytic activity of about 87% was achieved by 30% g-C3N4/Co3O4 due to the photonic enhancement, which reduces the recombination of excited electrons. The developed nanocomposite with a g-C3N4/Co3O4 ratio of 0.3 exhibited high stability in its photocatalytic performance after four recycling times, and a slight decrease of about 7% was estimated after the 5th reuse test.

Abstract
Heterogeneous photocatalysts have garnered extensive attention as a sustainable way for environmental remediation and energy storage process. Water splitting, solar energy conversion, and pollutant degradation are examples of nowadays applications where semiconductor-based photocatalysts represent a potentially disruptive technology. The exploitation of solar radiation for photocatalysis could generate a strong impact by decreasing the energy demand and simultaneously mitigating the impact of anthropogenic pollutants. However, most of the actual photocatalysts work only on energy radiation in the Near-UV region (<400 nm), and the studies and development of new photocatalysts with high efficiency in the visible range of the spectrum are required. In this regard, hybrid organic/inorganic photocatalysts have emerged as highly potential materials to drastically improve visible photocatalytic efficiency. In this review, we will analyze the state-of-art and the developments of hybrid photocatalysts for energy storage and energy conversion process as well as their application in pollutant degradation and water treatments.

Abstract
The Ti3C2 and g-C3N4NS were obtained first, and the CdS/Ti3C2/g-C3N4NS Z-scheme composites were prepared via a facile hydrothermal synthesis, and their photocatalytic properties were investigated. The g-C3N4NS with a high surface area displayed higher adsorption and degradation capacity. Compared with Ti3C2/g-C3N4NS and CdS, the visible light photocatalytic activity of CdS/Ti3C2/g-C3N4NS composites was improved. The as-synthesized CTN-4:1 composite exhibited outstanding photocatalytic performance for degradation of orange II, approximately 3.2 and 10.7 times higher than that of Ti3C2/g-C3N4NS and CdS, respectively. The fabrication of CdS/Ti3C2/g-C3N4NS Z-scheme heterostructure using Ti3C2 as electron transfer medium improved the separation ability of the photoinduced e--h+ pairs, thereby leading to the improvement of visible light-driven photocatalytic activity. This finding provides new insights into the construction of high efficiency Z-scheme heterostructure photocatalyst.

Abstract
The potential of green nanomaterials for environmental and agricultural fields is emerging due to their biocompatible, eco-friendly, and cost-effective performance. We report the use of Canna indica flowers extract as new capping and stabilizing source to bio-fabricate ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO NPs for dyes removal, seed germination. ZnO NPs was biosynthesized by ultrasound-assisted alkaline-free route to reach the critical green strategy. The physicochemical findings of ZnO revealed small crystallite size (27.82 nm), sufficient band-gap energy (3.08 eV), and diverse functional groups. Minimum‑run resolution IV approach found the most pivotal factors influencing on removal of Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250. Uptake studies pointed out that pseudo second-order, and Langmuir were the best fitted models. Dye molecules behaved monolayer adsorption on ZnO surface layers, and controlled by chemisorption. Natural solar light was used as effective source for photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (94.23% of removal and 31.09 mg/g of uptake capacity). Compared with H2O and ZnSO4, ZnO NPs positively affected the growth of shoot and root lengths (10.2-27.8%) of bean seedlings in most cases. ZnO acts an agrochemical for boosting weight gain, and germination ratio. This study may be promising for developing the recyclable, multifunctional ZnO nanoparticles for environmental and agricultural applications.
