Arthroscopy Honors 2023 Award Winning Publications and Authors

With earnest appreciation to the Arthroscopy Association of North America Education Foundation for its generous support for Arthroscopy's Annual Awards, we announce the 2023 publications determined to represent the best clinical research, basic science research, resident/fellow research, and systematic reviews published in 2023, as well as the most downloaded and most cited articles published 5 years ago. This year, we also present the inaugural award for the Most Viewed Arthroscopy Techniques article and video published 5 years ago, as well as our best Podcasts of 2023.

Arthroscopy Announces Annual Awards

Social media has transformed the way we communicate, including truncating the manner in which we converse. A positive result is that we are mindfully succinct as we acclaim our annual research prize winners. Just as investigations have limitations, we are limited in the number of publications that we can recognize. We are excited to celebrate our outstanding papers.

Arthroscopy Journal at 35

As we commence our 35th year, we acknowledge our team and launch 2 new initiatives: Infographics and Arthroscopy Journal Podcasts.

Editorial Commentary: Be on the Lookout for White Chalk! Hip Labrum Calcification

Amorphous calcification of the hip labrum is a little known and relatively rare condition. Although patients with amorphous calcification have favorable post-arthroscopic surgery self-reported outcome, it is unclear how much of their improvement can be attributed to the debridement of the calcific lesion itself.

Award Winning Research Recognized

One of the joys of the editorial team is selecting the annual Journal Awards. Recognizing research excellence is what we do. If a manuscript was ultimately selected for publication, it is already excellent, as we publish less than 20% of original scientific article submissions, and we received more than 1,300 such submissions in 2017. To be one of our award winners is to be truly "elite."
