Abstract
BACKGROUND AIMS The value of routine chimerism determination after myeloablative hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is unclear, particularly in the setting of anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG)-based graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis. METHODS Blood samples were collected at 3 months post-HCT from 558 patients who received myeloablative conditioning and ATG-based GVHD prophylaxis. Chimerism was assessed using multiplex polymerase chain reaction of short tandem repeats in sorted T cells (CD3+) and leukemia lineage cells (CD13+CD33+ for myeloid malignancies and CD19+ for B-lymphoid malignancies). ATG exposure was determined using a flow cytometry-based assay. The primary outcomes of interest were relapse and chronic GVHD (cGVHD). RESULTS Incomplete (<95%) T-cell chimerism and leukemia lineage chimerism were present in 17% and 4% of patients, respectively. Patients with incomplete T-cell chimerism had a significantly greater incidence of relapse (36% versus 22%, subhazard ratio [SHR] = 2.03, P = 0.001) and lower incidence of cGVHD (8% versus 25%, SHR = 0.29, P < 0.001) compared with patients with complete chimerism. In multivariate modeling, patients with high post-transplant ATG area under the curve and any cytomegalovirus (CMV) serostatus other than donor/recipient seropositivity (non-D+R+) had an increased likelihood of incomplete T-cell chimerism. Patients with incomplete leukemia lineage chimerism had a significantly greater incidence of relapse (50% versus 23%, SHR = 2.70, P = 0.011) and, surprisingly, a greater incidence of cGVHD (45% versus 20%, SHR = 2.64, P = 0.003). CONCLUSIONS High post-transplant ATG exposure and non-D+R+ CMV serostatus predispose patients to incomplete T-cell chimerism, which is associated with an increased risk of relapse. The increased risk of cGVHD with incomplete B-cell/myeloid chimerism is a novel finding that suggests an important role for recipient antigen-presenting cells in cGVHD pathogenesis.

Abstract
This review highlights literature pertinent to chimerism analysis in the context of hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). We also conducted a survey of testing practices of program members of CIBMTR worldwide. Questions included testing methods, time points, specimen type, cell lineage tested and testing indications. Recent literature suggests that detection of low level mixed chimerism has a clinical utility in predicting relapse. There is also increasing recognition of HLA loss relapse to potentially guide rescue decisions in cases of relapse. These developments coincide with wider access to high sensitivity next generation sequencing (NGS) in clinical laboratories. Our survey revealed a heterogeneity in practices as well as in findings and conclusions of published studies. Although the most commonly used method is STR, studies support more sensitive methods such as NGS, especially for predicting relapse. There is no conclusive evidence to support testing chimerism in BM over PB, particularly when using a high sensitivity testing method. Periodic monitoring of chimerism especially in diagnoses with a high risk of relapse is advantageous. Lineage specific chimerism is more sensitive than whole blood in predicting impending relapse. Further studies that critically assess how to utilize chimerism testing results will inform evidence based clinical management decisions.

Long-term survival with mixed chimerism in patients with AML and MDS transplanted after conditioning with targeted busulfan, fludarabine, and thymoglobulin. Bone Marrow Transplant 2021; 57:198-206. Abstract
We evaluated long-term outcome in 40 patients with MDS or AML, transplanted from related or unrelated donors following conditioning with targeted busulfan (Bu, over 4 days), fludarabine (Flu, 120 [n = 23] or 250 [n = 17] mg/m2) and thymoglobulin (THY). Compared to 95 patients conditioned with Bu/Cyclophosphamide (Cy) without THY, BuFluTHY-conditioned patients had lower rates of chronic graft-vs.-host disease (GVHD). Adjusted hazard ratios (HR) for BuFlu(120)THY and BuFlu(250)THY-conditioned patients were 1.60 (95% confidence interval (CI) 0.66-3.86) and 1.87 (0.68-5.11), respectively, for relapse; 0.77 (0.30-1.99) and 1.32 (0.54-3.23) for non-relapse mortality; 0.81 (0.42-1.57) and 1.38 (0.72-2.57) for overall mortality; and 0.78 (0.30-2.05) and 1.62 (0.63-4.41) for relapse or death (failure for relapse-free survival). At one year, 45% of BuFlu(120 or 250)THY-conditioned patients had mixed CD3+ chimerism compared to 0% with BuCy (p < 0.0001). None of 7 patients with long-term mixed chimerism had chronic GVHD; two relapsed, five remained stable mixed chimeras. THY is effective in reducing chronic GVHD, and long-term mixed T-cell chimerism can be compatible with relapse-free survival. However, Thy may also be associated with an increased risk of relapse and, dose-dependent, with non-relapse mortality.

Abstract
Background The significance of very early chimerism assessment before day + 28, which is considered the moment of engraftment, is still unclear. In this retrospective study, we evaluated the clinical impact of very early chimerism on the clinical outcome after allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). Methods The study group included 38 boys and 18 girls. Very early chimerism was evaluated on days + 7, + 14, + 21 and + 28 after the transplant. Short tandem repeat polymerase chain reaction (STR PCR) was used to analyse chimerism. Results Overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) were 84 and 80%, respectively. The OS in the group of 24 patients with complete donor chimerism on day + 14 was 83%, and it did not differ statistically compared to the 32 patients with mixed chimerism on day + 14 (OS was 84%). In our cohort of patients, the matched unrelated donor, male gender of donor, number of transplanted cells above 4.47 × 106 kg and no serotherapy with anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) were statistically related to a higher level of donor chimerism. The immunophenotypes of disease, age of patient at time HSCT, recipient sex, stem cell source (peripheral blood/bone marrow) and conditioning regimen had no impact on early chimerism. Acute graft versus host disease grades II-IV was diagnosed in 23 patients who presented with donor chimerism levels above 60% on day 7. Conclusions The data presented in this study provide valuable insight into the analysis of very early chimerism in children with ALL treated with HSCT.

Abstract
The increase of mixed chimerism (MC) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has been associated with a high risk of relapse. A variety of techniques that use polymorphic markers have been established to survey hematopoietic chimerism status. The highest sensitivity is achieved using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR) analysis of insertion/deletion polymorphism, which allows the detection of disease recurrence and subsequently the earlier initiation of therapeutic intervention. The purpose of this study is the evaluation of multiplex RQ-PCR for MC assessment (six biallelic genetic systems and Y-specific locus), allowing the amplification and detection of target gene of interest and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase reference housekeeping gene in a single microtube. With optimized amounts of primers and probe, the quantification of target DNA was shown to be linear throughout the tested range (100%-0.05%). The efficiencies of multiplex RQ-PCR were in a range of 0.89 to 1.07. The sensitivity of individual systems ranged 0.02% to 0.04% with an average of 0.034%. A high degree of linear correlation between the chimerism results obtained by multiplex RQ-PCR vs singleplex RQ-PCR was observed (P < 0.0001, Spearman's coefficient = 0.9927), while correlation between multiplex RQ-PCR vs short tandem repeat analysis was also statistically significant (P < 0.0001, Spearman's coefficient = 0.9769). This new multiplex RQ-PCR assay is a quick, sensitive, reproducible, and cost-effective method for accurate MC assessment.

Abstract
Effector memory T cells (TEM) are less capable of inducing graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) compared with naive T cells (TN). Previously, in the TS1 TCR transgenic model of GVHD, wherein TS1 CD4 cells specific for a model minor histocompatibility Ag (miHA) induce GVHD in miHA-positive recipients, we found that cell-intrinsic properties of TS1 TEM reduced their GVHD potency relative to TS1 TN Posttransplant, TS1 TEM progeny expressed higher levels of PD-1 than did TS1 TN progeny, leading us to test the hypothesis that TEM induce less GVHD because of increased sensitivity to PD-ligands. In this study, we tested this hypothesis and found that indeed TS1 TEM induced more severe skin and liver GVHD in the absence of PD-ligands. However, lack of PD-ligands did not result in early weight loss and colon GVHD comparable to that induced by TS1 TN, indicating that additional pathways restrain alloreactive TEM TS1 TN also caused more severe GVHD without PD-ligands. The absence of PD-ligands on donor bone marrow was sufficient to augment GVHD caused by either TEM or TN, indicating that donor PD-ligand-expressing APCs critically regulate GVHD. In the absence of PD-ligands, both TS1 TEM and TN induced late-onset myocarditis. Surprisingly, this was an autoimmune manifestation, because its development required non-TS1 polyclonal CD8+ T cells. Myocarditis development also required donor bone marrow to be PD-ligand deficient, demonstrating the importance of donor APC regulatory function. In summary, PD-ligands suppress both miHA-directed GVHD and the development of alloimmunity-induced autoimmunity after allogeneic hematopoietic transplantation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In the light of an increasing number of hematopoietic stem cell transplantations and more frequent use of reduced-intensity conditioning as preparative regimens for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, post-transplant cell chimera monitoring is considered a necessity. METHODS The quantitative fluorescence polymerase chain reaction method, along with the commercial AmpFSTR SGMPlus kit, was applied in research on hematopoietic chimeras. RESULTS The total of 102 patients who had undergone allogenic transplantations were investigated. Chimerism monitoring was commenced on the seventh day after transplantation and lasted up to 12 years in some cases, according to the instituted schedule. CONCLUSIONS The kit has been shown to be fully sufficient for determining genetic profiles of recipients and donors and selecting informative markers. The method has been proven effective and satisfactory for assessing quantitative chimeras.

Abstract
Background: The study attempts to assess the relationship between chimerism analysis using polymerase chain reaction of short tandem repeat (STR) and the incidence of chronic graft versus host disease (GvHD) as well as survival. Subjects and Methods: The retrospective cohort included all patients who received allo-HSCT during 2005-2013. Data collected by day +100 were reviewed in terms of the incidence of chronic GvHD and survival. Chimerism was evaluated for whole blood, T-cell and PMN cells on days 15, 30 and 60, respectively using polymerase chain reaction of short tandem repeat (STR). Results: Forty (69%) patients developed chronic GvHD, 11 (19%) relapsed and 22 (39.7%) expired during the study. There was a significant relationship between chronic GvHD and chimerism analysis including whole blood on day 60 (p=0.001), Polymorphonuclear neutrophil (PMN) on day 60 (p=0.05), T-cell on days 15 (p=0.028), 30 (p=0.01) and 60 (p=0.004). Patients with chronic GvHD showed a long-term survival as compared with those without chronic GvHD (p=0.0013). Conclusion: Conducting continuous analysis of chimerism provides an opportunity to initiate immediate measures in order to prevent complications.

Abstract
Immune reconstitution kinetics and subsequent clinical outcomes in HLA-matched recipients of allogeneic stem cell transplantation (SCT) are variable and difficult to predict. Considering SCT as a dynamical system may allow sequence differences across the exomes of the transplant donors and recipients to be used to simulate an alloreactive T cell response, which may allow better clinical outcome prediction. To accomplish this, whole exome sequencing was performed on 34 HLA-matched SCT donor-recipient pairs (DRPs) and the nucleotide sequence differences translated to peptides. The binding affinity of the peptides to the relevant HLA in each DRP was determined. The resulting array of peptide-HLA binding affinity values in each patient was considered as an operator modifying a hypothetical T cell repertoire vector, in which each T cell clone proliferates in accordance with the logistic equation of growth. Using an iterating system of matrices, each simulated T cell clone's growth was calculated with the steady-state population being proportional to the magnitude of the binding affinity of the driving HLA-peptide complex. Incorporating competition between T cell clones responding to different HLA-peptide complexes reproduces a number of features of clinically observed T cell clonal repertoire in the simulated repertoire, including sigmoidal growth kinetics of individual T cell clones and overall repertoire, Power Law clonal frequency distribution, increase in repertoire complexity over time with increasing clonal diversity, and alteration of clonal dominance when a different antigen array is encountered, such as in SCT. The simulated, alloreactive T cell repertoire was markedly different in HLA-matched DRPs. The patterns were differentiated by rate of growth and steady-state magnitude of the simulated T cell repertoire and demonstrate a possible correlation with survival. In conclusion, exome wide sequence differences in DRPs may allow simulation of donor alloreactive T cell response to recipient antigens and may provide a quantitative basis for refining donor selection and titration of immunosuppression after SCT.

Abstract
Chimerism and clinical outcome data from 244 hematopoietic stem cell transplants in 218 children were retrospectively analyzed to assess their relevance for the detection of graft rejection and malignant relapse. Patients transplanted for a non-malignant disease had significantly higher proportions of residual recipient T cells in peripheral blood at one, three, and six months compared with patients transplanted for malignant disease. Recipient T-cell levels were below 50% at one month after transplantation in most patients (129 of 152 transplants). Graft rejection occurred more frequently in the group of patients with high levels of recipient cells at one month (10 graft rejections in the 23 patients with recipient T cells >50% at one month as compared to seven graft rejections occurred in 129 patients with recipient T cells <50% (p < 0.001). Multilineage chimerism data in 87 children with leukemia at one, three, and six months after transplantation were not correlated with subsequent relapse of malignant disease. In conclusion, early analysis of lineage-specific chimerism in peripheral blood can be used to identify patients who are at high risk of graft rejection. However, the efficacy of early chimerism analysis for predicting leukemia relapse was limited.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is one of the main complications after haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Clinical features of GVHD include either an acute (aGVHD) or a chronic (cGVHD) condition that affects locations such as the oral mucosa. While the involvement of the host's dendritic cells (DCs) has been demonstrated in aGVHD, the origin (donor/host) and mechanisms underlying oral cGVHD have not been completely elucidated. In this study, we intend to determine the origin of DCs present in mucosal tissue biopsies from the oral cavity of transplanted patients affected by cGVHD. METHODS We purified DCs, from oral biopsies of three patients with cGVHD, through immunobeads and subsequently performed DNA extraction. The origin of the obtained DCs was determined by PCR amplification of 13 informative short tandem repeat (STR) alleles. We also characterised the DCs phenotype and the inflammatory infiltrate from biopsies of two patients by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS Clinical and histological features of the biopsies were concordant with oral cGVHD. We identified CD11c-, CD207- and CD1a-positive cells in the epithelium and beneath the basal layer. Purification of DCs from the mucosa of patients affected by post-transplantation cGVHD was >95%. PCR-STR data analysis of DCs DNA showed that 100% of analysed cells were of donor origin in all of the evaluated patients. CONCLUSION Our results demonstrate that resident DCs isolated from the oral tissue of allotransplanted patients affected by cGVHD are originated from the donor. Further research will clarify the role of DCs in the development and/or severity of oral cGVHD.

Abstract
In vivo T-cell depletion, using alemtuzumab therapy prior to SCT, can reduce the incidence of GVHD. This treatment has a potential to delay immune reconstitution resulting in increased morbidity due to viral illnesses. We retrospectively analyzed data on all pediatric patients with non-malignant disorders who received alemtuzumab-based conditioning regimens in our center over the last 10 yr (n = 91). Our data show an OS of 91.2%. The incidence of acute (grade 2-4) GVHD was 18.7% and that of chronic GVHD 5.5%. Viremia due to adenovirus, EBV and CMV was seen in 19.8%, 64.8% and 39.6% patients, respectively, with only two deaths attributed to viral infection (adenovirus). Chimerism level at three month was predictive of graft outcome. Nine patients, who had graft failure after first SCT, were salvaged with a second SCT using RIC and same donor (if available). Based on these results, we conclude that the use of in vivo T-cell depletion is safe, achieves good chimerism and does not lead to increased morbidity and mortality due to viral infections. It is associated with a reduced incidence of chronic GVHD.

Abstract
Chimerism dynamics in bone marrow, peripheral blood (PB), and T lymphocytes (TL) has been associated with the development of various complications after allogeneic stem-cell transplantation (allo-SCT). In the present study, the usefulness of chimerism monitoring in CD25(+)-activated leukocytes (AL), together with that in bone marrow, PB, and TL, for the anticipation of complications after allo-SCT, has been analyzed in 68 patients. In AL, we observed a slower dynamics toward complete chimerism (CC) than in PB (p = 0.042), while no significant differences were found between TL and PB (p = 0.12). Complete chimerism achievement in AL at day +30 has shown to be an independent risk factor for the development of grade II-IV acute graft-versus-host disease (aGvHD; hazard ratio [95% confidence interval]: 11.9 [1.5-91.7]; p = 0.017). Moreover, among patients achieving CC in TL and AL at different time-points after SCT (n = 17/68), the incidence of grade II-IV aGvHD was significantly higher in patients who achieved CC earlier in AL (5/5) than in those who achieved CC earlier in TL (1/11; p = 0.001). Therefore, achievement of early complete donor chimerism in CD25(+) AL is a strong predictor for the development of aGvHD. Prospective analysis of chimerism in AL could improve the post-SCT management of immunosuppressive therapy in transplanted patients.

Abstract
Analysis of short tandem repeats (STR) is the predominant method for post-transplant monitoring of donor engraftment. It can enable early detection of disease relapse, level of engraftment and provide useful information on the graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)/graft-versus-tumour (GVT) effect, facilitating therapeutic intervention. Harmonization and standardization of techniques and result interpretation is essential to reduce the impact of laboratory variability on both clinical management and the results of multi-centre clinical trials. However, the United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Service for Leucocyte Immunophenotyping (UK NEQAS LI) has highlighted significant issues inherent in STR testing that impact upon inter- and intra- laboratory variation. We present here consensus best practice guidelines and recommendations for STR chimerism testing, data interpretation and reporting that have been drawn up and agreed by a consortium of 11 UK and Eire clinical laboratories. This document uses data obtained from the UK NEQAS LI Post-Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) Chimerism Monitoring Programme.

Abstract
The main aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of early T-cell chimerism status on the incidence and clinical course of acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) in allogeneic transplant recipients after myeloablative conditioning. Of 62 patients, 38 (61%) had complete T-cell donor chimerism (DC), and 24 (39%) had mixed T-cell chimerism (MC). The incidence of early death (before day 100) with steroid-resistant aGVHD was significantly higher in patients with complete DC compared to patients with MC (6/38 vs. 0/24, p = 0.04). The time from aGVHD diagnosis to nonrelapse death was markedly different in patients with complete DC versus MC [53 days (range 12–183) vs. 238 days (range 135– 550), p = 0.005]. Conditioning with Etopophos/total body irradiation (TBI) resulted in significantly more patients with MC compared to conditioning with cyclophosphamide/TBI. In conclusion, early complete T-cell DC was associated with a high incidence of early death in patients receiving highdose steroids for the treatment of aGVHD.

Abstract
Donor chimerism after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) is commonly used to predict overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS). Because chimerism is observed at 1 or more times after allo-SCT and not at baseline, if chimerism is in fact associated with OS or DFS, then the occurrence of either disease progression or death informatively censors (terminates) the observed chimerism process. This violates the assumptions underlying standard statistical regression methods for survival analysis, which may lead to biased conclusions. To assess the association between the longitudinal post-allo-SCT donor chimerism process and OS or DFS, we analyzed data from 195 patients with acute myelogenous leukemia (n = 157) or myelodysplastic syndrome (n = 38) who achieved complete remission after allo-SCT following a reduced-toxicity conditioning regimen of fludarabine/intravenous busulfan. Median follow-up was 31 months (range, 1.1 to 105 months). Fitted joint longitudinal-survival time models showed that a binary indicator of complete (100%) donor chimerism and increasing percent of donor T cells were significantly associated with longer OS, whereas decreasing percent of donor T cells was highly significantly associated with shorter OS. Our analyses illustrate the usefulness of modeling repeated post-allo-SCT chimerism measurements as individual longitudinal processes jointly with OS and DFS to estimate their relationships.

Abstract
Delayed or failed engraftment remains a concern after cord blood transplantation (CBT) even when using double-unit grafts. Therefore, we analyzed the association between BM assessment performed approximately 21 days after transplantation, and the speed and success of sustained donor-derived neutrophil engraftment in 56 myeloablative double-unit CBT (DCBT) recipients. Overall, the cumulative incidence of sustained neutrophil engraftment was 95% (95% confidence intervals (CI): 89-100). Of the percentage of myeloid precursors, the BM cellularity and the total donor chimerism the total donor chimerism percentage had the most critical association with the speed and success of engraftment. DCBT recipients who were 100% donor achieved a 98% engraftment rate at a median of 22 days. This compared with 100% engraftment in patients who were 90-99% donor, but at a delayed median of 29 days and only 68% engraftment in patients <90% donor at a median of 37 days (P=0.001). Multivariate analysis was performed in the subgroup of patients who had not engrafted at the time the BM analysis was performed, the subgroup of most clinical concern. This confirmed donor chimerism was predictive of subsequent neutrophil recovery (P=0.004). These findings demonstrate the importance of the day 21 BM chimerism determinations after DCBT.

Abstract
We conducted a 45 patient prospective study of reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC) and transplantation of unrelated umbilical cord blood (UCB) and CD34(+) stem cells from a haploidentical family member. Median age was 50 years; weight was 80 kg. Fifty-eight percent had active disease. Neutrophil engraftment occurred at 11 days (interquartile range [IQR], 9-15) and platelet engraftment at 19 days (IQR, 15-33). In the majority of patients, early haploidentical engraftment was replaced by durable engraftment of UCB by 100 days, with regular persistence of minor host and/or haplo-hematopoiesis. Percentage of haplochimerism at day 100 correlated with the haplo-CD34 dose (P = .003). Cumulative incidence of acute GVHD (aGVHD) was 25% and chronic GVHD (cGVHD) was 5%. Actuarial survival at 1 year was 55%, progression-free survival (PFS) was 42%, nonrelapse mortality (NRM) was 28%, and relapse was 30%. RIC and haplo-cord transplantation results in fast engraftment of neutrophils and platelets, low incidences of aGVHD and cGVHD, low frequency of delayed opportunistic infections, reduced transfusion requirements, shortened length of hospital stay, and promising long-term outcomes. UCB cell dose had no impact on time to hematopoietic recovery. Therefore, UCB selection can prioritize matching, and better matched donors can be identified rapidly for most patients. Abstract
Timely diagnosis of impending graft rejection is crucial for effective therapeutic intervention after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (SCT). We have investigated the predictive potential of early leukocyte subset-specific chimerism for graft loss in children undergoing SCT. In total, 192 pediatric patients transplanted for the treatment of malignant and non-malignant diseases after reduced-intensity or myeloablative conditioning were investigated. Surveillance of lineage-specific chimerism was initiated upon first appearance of leukocyte counts amenable to cell sorting. Graft rejection occurred in 23 patients between 24 and 492 days post-transplant (median 63 days). The first chimerism analysis of T and NK cells performed at a median of 20 days after SCT identified three different risk groups that were independent from the conditioning regimen: recipient chimerism (RC) levels in T cells below 50% indicated a very low risk of rejection (1.4%), whereas high levels of RC (>90%) both in T and NK cells heralded graft loss in the majority of patients (90%) despite therapeutic interventions. RC >50% in T cells and ≤90% in NK cells defined an intermediate-risk group in which timely immunotherapy frequently prevented rejection. Early assessment of T- and NK-cell chimerism can therefore be instrumental in the risk assessment and therapeutic management of imminent graft rejection.

Abstract
Allogeneic stem cell transplantation (SCT) can be considered the most successful method of adoptive immunotherapy of cancer. It is successful in part because of the potent graft-versus-tumor (GVT) effects of the donor graft, which are independent of the conditioning regimen. This potent GVT reaction can be harnessed in some cases to treat patients who relapse after allogeneic SCT with the use of donor leukocyte infusions (DLIs). This has led to the rapid development of reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC) regimens for allogeneic SCT, an approach that relies primarily on GVT activity. However, the effects of GVT have clear disease specificity and remain associated with significant GVHD. Optimization of GVT induction will require a better understanding of the important target antigens and effector cells, as well as the development of methods that enhance GVT reactivity without excessive GVHD. The appropriate clinical setting and timing for GVT induction need to be defined more clearly, but ultimately, the immunologic control of cancer through allogeneic adoptive immunotherapy represents one of the most potent and promising therapeutic strategies for patients with hematologic malignancies.
