Abstract
Bacterial communities in soil and rhizosphere maintain a large collection of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). However, few of these ARGs and antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARB) are well-characterized under traditional farming practices. Here we compared the ARG profiles of maize rhizosphere and their bulk soils using metagenomic analysis to identify the ARG dissemination and explored the potential impact of chemical fertilization on ARB. Results showed a relatively lower abundance but higher diversity of ARGs under fertilization than straw-return. Moreover, the abundance and diversity of MGEs were significantly promoted by chemical fertilizer inputs in the rhizosphere compared to bulk soil. Machine learning and bipartite networks identified three bacterial genera (Pseudomonas, Bacillus and Streptomyces) as biomarkers for ARG accumulation. Thus we cultured 509 isolates belonging to these three genera from the rhizosphere and tested their antimicrobial susceptibility, and found that multi-resistance was frequently observed among Pseudomonas isolates. Assembly-based tracking explained that ARGs and four class I integrons (LR134330, LS998783, CP065848, LT883143) were co-occurred among contigs from Pseudomonas sp. Chemical fertilizers may shape the resistomes of maize rhizosphere, highlighting that rhizosphere carried multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas isolates, which may pose a risk to animal and human health. This study adds knowledge of long-term chemical fertilization on ARG dissemination in farmland systems and provides information for decision-making in agricultural production and monitoring.

Abstract
In the present work, the biomass of Aspergillus flavus (AF) was modified using magnetic nanoparticles MnFe2O4 and metal-organic framework of ZIF-67, and its ability to remove tetracycline antibiotic (TCH) was investigated. With the help of physicochemical tests, AF biomass modification with ZIF-67 and MnFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles was confirmed. Based on the BET value, AF-MnFe2O4-ZIF-67 (139.83 m2/g) has a higher surface value than AF (0.786 m2/g) and AF/MnFe2O4 (17.504 m2/g). Also, the magnetic saturation value revealed that the modified biomass can be isolated from the treated solution using a simple magnetic field. Maximum TCH elimination (99.04%) using AF-MnFe2O4-ZIF-67 was obtained at pH 7, adsorber mass of 1 g/L, adsorption time of 40 min, and TCH content of 10 mg/L. The thermodynamic study indicated that the TCH abatement using the desired composite is spontaneous and exothermic. The experimental results showed that the adsorption process is compatible with the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Freundlich model. The maximum adsorption capacity for AF, AF-MnFe2O4, and AF-MnFe2O4-ZIF-67 was quantified to be 9.75 mg/g, 25.59 mg/g, and 43.87 mg/g, respectively. The reusability of the desired adsorbers was examined in up to 8 steps. The outcomes showed that the adsorbers can be used several times in TCH elimination. The provided composite can remove TCH from hospital wastewater, so it can be suggested for use in water and wastewater treatment works.

Abstract
Livestock manure is one of the most important pools of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in the environment. Aerobic composting can effectively reduce the spread of antibiotic resistance risk in livestock manure. Understanding the effect of aerobic composting process parameters on manure-sourced ARGs is important to control their spreading risk. In this study, the effects of process parameters on ARGs during aerobic composting of pig manure were explored through data mining based on 191 valid data collected from literature. Machine learning (ML) models (XGBoost and Random Forest) were utilized to predict the rate of ARGs changes during pig manure composting. The model evaluation index of the XGBoost model (R2 = 0.651) was higher than that of the Random Forest (R2 = 0.490), indicating that XGBoost had better prediction performance. Feature importance was further calculated for the XGBoost model, and the XGBoost black box model was interpreted by Shapley additive explanations analysis. Results indicated that the influencing factors on the ARGs variation in pig manure were sequentially divided into thermophilic period, total composting period, composting real time, and thermophilic stage average temperature. The findings gave an insight into the application of ML models to predict and decipher the ARG changes during manure composting and provided suggestions for better composting manipulation and optimization of process parameters.

Abstract
Aerobic composting is a sustainable and effective waste disposal method. However, it can generate massive amounts of ammonia (NH3) via volatilization. Effectively reducing NH3 volatilization is vital for advancing aerobic composting and protecting the ecological environment. Herein, two crystal types of MnO2 (α-MnO2 and δ-MnO2) are combined with biochar (hydrochar (WHC) and pyrochar (WPC), respectively) and used as conditioners for the aerobic composting of chicken manure. Results reveal that α-MnO2 (34.6%) can more effectively reduce NH3 accumulation than δ-MnO2 (27.1%). Moreover, the combination of WHC and MnO2 better reduces NH3 volatilization (48.5-58.9%) than the combination of WPC and MnO2 (15.8-40.1%). The highest NH3 volatilization reduction effect (58.9%) is achieved using the combination of WHC and δ-MnO2. Because the added WHC and δ-MnO2 promote the humification of the compost, the humic acid to fulvic acid ratio (HA/FA ratio) dramatically increases. The combination of WHC and δ-MnO2 doubled the HA/FA ratio and resulted in a net economic benefit of 130.0 RMB/t. Therefore, WHC and δ-MnO2 co-conditioning can promote compost decomposition, improving the quality of organic fertilizers and substantially reducing NH3 volatilization.

Abstract
Fate of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) during composting of antibiotic fermentation waste (AFW) is a major concern. This review article focuses on recent literature published on this subject. The key findings are that antibiotics can be removed effectively during AFW composting, with higher temperatures, appropriate bulking agents, and suitable pretreatments improving their degradation. ARGs dynamics during composting are related to bacteria and mobile genetic elements (MGEs). Higher temperatures, suitable bulking agents and an appropriate C/N ratio (30:1) lead to more efficient removal of ARGs/MGEs by shaping the bacterial composition. Keeping materials dry (moisture less than 30%) and maintaining pH stable around 7.5 after composting could inhibit the rebound of ARGs. Overall, safer utilization of AFW can be realized by optimizing composting conditions. However, further removal of antibiotics and ARGs at low levels, degradation mechanism of antibiotics, and spread mechanism of ARGs during AFW composting require further investigation.

Abstract
Applying compost to soil may lead to the spread of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in the environment. Therefore, removing ARGs from compost is critical. In this study, for the first time, nano zero-valent iron (nZVI) was added to compost during the maturation stage to remove ARGs. After adding 1 g/kg of nZVI, the abundance of total intracellular and total extracellular ARGs was decreased by 97.62% and 99.60%, and that of total intracellular and total extracellular mobile genetic elements (MGEs) was decreased by 92.39% and 99.31%, respectively. A Mantel test and network analysis indicated that the reduction in potential host bacteria and intI1 after nZVI treatment promoted the removal of intracellular and extracellular ARGs. The addition of nZVI during composting reduced the horizontal transfer of ARGs and improve the total nitrogen and germination index of compost, allowing it to meet the requirements for organic fertilizers.

Abstract
This article provides an overview of biochar application for organic waste co-composting and its biochemical transformation mechanism. As a composting amendment, biochar work in the adsorption of nutrients, the retention of oxygen and water, and the promotion of electron transfer. These functions serve the micro-organisms (physical support of niche) and determine changes in community structure beyond the succession of composing primary microorganisms. Biochar mediates resistance genes, mobile gene elements, and biochemical metabolic activities of organic matter degrading. The participation of biochar enriched the α-diversity of microbial communities at all stages of composting, and ultimately reflects the high γ-diversity. Finally, easy and convincing biochar preparation methods and characteristic need to be explored, in turn, the mechanism of biochar on composting microbes at the microscopic level can be studied in depth.
