Abstract
Dengue virus (DENV) is the most prevalent global arbovirus, exhibiting a high worldwide incidence with intensified severity of symptoms and alarming mortality rates. Faced with the limitations of diagnostic methods, an optical and electrochemical biosystem was developed for the detection of DENV genotypes 1 and 2, using cysteine (Cys), cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dots, and anti-DENV antibodies. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), surface plasmon resonance (SPR), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were employed to characterize the immunosensor. The AFM and SPR results demonstrated discernible topographic and angular changes confirming the biomolecular recognition. Different concentrations of DENV-1 and DENV-2 were evaluated (0.05 × 106 to 2.0 × 106 PFU mL-1), resulting in a maximum anodic shift (ΔI%) of 263.67% ± 12.54 for DENV-1 and 63.36% ± 3.68 for DENV-2. The detection strategies exhibited a linear response to the increase in viral concentration. Excellent linear correlations, with R2 values of 0.95391 for DENV-1 and 0.97773 for DENV-2, were obtained across a broad concentration range. Data analysis demonstrated high reproducibility, displaying relative standard deviation values of 3.42% and 3.62% for Cys-CdTe-antibodyDENV-1-BSA and Cys-CdTe-antibodyDENV-2-BSA systems. The detection limits were 0.34 × 106 PFU mL-1 and 0.02 × 106 PFU mL-1, while the quantification limits were set at 1.49 × 106 PFU mL-1 and 0.06 × 106 PFU mL-1 for DENV-1 and DENV-2, respectively. Therefore, the biosensing apparatus demonstrates analytical effectiveness in viral screening and can be considered an innovative solution for early dengue diagnosis, contributing to global public health.

Abstract
The dielectric properties of epoxy/MWCNT (multi-walled carbon nanotubes)/MgO hybrid composites with a fixed MWCNT amount of 0.12 vol.% (0.2 wt.%) and varying MgO concentrations up to 3 vol.% were investigated in broad frequency (20-40 GHz) and temperature (20-500 K) ranges. The composites with up to 2 vol.% MgO nanoparticles concentration showed a significant increase of DC conductivity in relation to their non MgO-containing counterparts. The optimal content of MgO was found, i.e., 0.46 vol.%, which gave up to 2.5 orders of magnitude larger DC conductivity than those of the samples prepared without MgO additives. Using various amounts of MgO, it is possible to predictably vary the broadband electromagnetic properties of the composites, even entirely eliminating the electrical percolation. Electrical transport at different temperatures can be substantially controlled by the addition of given amounts of MgO. The broadband properties are discussed in terms of the distribution of relaxation times, which are proven to be an effective, noninvasive, and simple tool for checking composite fabrication issues, such as the distribution of MWCNT aggregates within the epoxy matrix.

Abstract
In this study, magnesium oxide (MgO)-modified carbon adsorbents were fabricated using a nitrogen-enriched carbon precursor by microwave-assisted irradiation for CO2 capture. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns showed the characteristic diffraction peaks of MgO at 43° and 62.5°, and no impurities were apparent. By changing the microwave reaction time, the spherical structure of the parent material was transformed to a hybrid structure with MgO crystalline particles in a carbon matrix. The morphology evolution and properties of the prepared materials were also investigated using transmission electron microscopy and N2 adsorption, respectively. On optimising the conditions, the prepared sample attained a high CO2 uptake of 1.22 mmol/g (5.3 wt.%) under flue gas conditions (15% CO2 in N2). It was found that MgO affected the CO2 capture behaviour by enhancing the fundamental characteristics of the carbon surfaces.

Abstract
A novel PCR-free DNA-based assay was developed for the detection of Vibrio spp. A sandwich hybridization format using an immobilized capture probe and a labeled signal probe was selected and combined with chemiluminescent method for the detection of the RNA target. In a first step, probes were validated using positive controls (PCs). A linearity was observed between 0.1 and 2.5 nM of PC, and detection limit was determined as 0.1 nM. In a second step, specificity was checked by using RNA extracted from a panel of 31 environmental bacterial strains. Detection limit of 5 ng μL-1 of total fragmented RNA was obtained, and the assay allowed a good discrimination between the 21 Vibrio and the 10 non-Vibrio strains tested. Finally, the DNA-based assay was successfully applied to analysis of spiked and natural environmental samples. Stability and analysis time of the DNA-based assay were also investigated to optimize working conditions. We demonstrated that microplates can be coated beforehand with capture probe and stored at 4 °C without any buffer in wells for at least 30 days. The use of the pre-made plates enables the assay to be completed in 2 h. The developed assay appeared as an interesting tool to determine the presence of bacteria in environmental samples.
