Abstract
Antibiotics are widely used as fungicides because of their antibacterial and bactericidal effects. However, it is necessary to control their dosage. If the amount of antbiotics is too much, it cannot be completely metabolized and absorbed, will pollute the environment, and have a great impact on human health. Many antibiotics usually left in factory or aquaculture wastewater pollute the environment, so it is vital to detect the content of antibiotics in wastewater. This article summarizes several common methods of antibiotic detection and pretreatment steps. The detection methods of antibiotics in wastewater mainly include immunoassay, instrumental analysis method, and sensor. Studies have shown that immunoassay can detect deficient concentrations of antibiotics, but it is affected by external factors leading to errors. The detection speed of the instrumental analysis method is fast, but the repeatability is poor, the price is high, and the operation is complicated. The sensor is a method that is currently increasingly studied, including electrochemical sensors, optical sensors, biosensors, photoelectrochemical sensors, and surface plasmon resonance sensors. It has the advantages of fast detection speed, high accuracy, and strong sensitivity. However, the reproducibility and stability of the sensor are poor. At present, there is no method that can comprehensively integrate the advantages. This paper aims to review the enrichment and detection methods of antibiotics in wastewater from 2020 to the present. It also aims to provide some ideas for future research directions in this field.

Abstract
Owing to the considerable potential of photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors, they have gained significant attention in the analysis of biological, environmental, and food markers. However, the limited charge mass transfer efficiency and rapid recombination of electron hole pairs have become obstacles in the development of PEC sensors. In this case, considering the unique advantages of carbon-based materials, they can be used as photosensitizers, supporting materials and conductive substrates and coupled with semiconductors to prepare composite materials, solving the above problems. In addition, there are many types of carbon materials, which can have semiconductor properties and form heterojunctions after coupling with semiconductors, effectively promoting the separation of electron hole pairs. Herein, we aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of reports on carbon-based PEC sensors by introducing their research and application status and discussing future development trends in this field. In particular, the types and performance improvement strategies of carbon-based electrodes and the working principles of carbon-based PEC sensors are explained. Furthermore, the applications of carbon-based photoelectric sensors in environmental monitoring, biomedicine, and food detection are highlighted. Finally, the current limitations in the research on carbon-based PEC sensors are emphasized and the need to enhance the sensitivity and selectivity through material modification, structural design, improved device performance, and other strategies are emphasized.

Abstract
In this work, a novel two-dimensional semiconducting metal covalent organic framework (CuTAPc-TFPP-COF) was synthesized and used as biosensing platform to construct aptasensor for trace detection of tetracycline (TC). The CuTAPc-TFPP-COF integrates the highly conjugated structure, large specific surface area, high porosity, abundant nitrogen functional groups, excellent electrochemical activity, and strong bioaffinity for aptamers, providing abundant active sites to effectively anchor aptamer strands. As a result, the CuTAPc-TFPP-COF-based aptasensor shows high sensitivity for detecting TC via specific recognition between aptamer and TC to form Apt-TC complex. An ultralow detection limit of 59.6 fM is deduced from the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy within a wide linear range of 0.1-100000 pM for TC. The CuTAPc-TFPP-COF-based aptasensor also exhibits good selectivity, reproducibility, stability, regenerability, and excellent applicability for real river water, milk, and pork samples. Therefore, the CuTAPc-TFPP-COF-based aptasensor will be promising for detecting trace harmful antibiotics residues in environmental water and food samples.

Abstract
Human health and ecology are seriously threatened by harmful environmental contaminants. It is essential to develop efficient and simple methods for their detection. Environmental pollutants can be detected using photoelectrochemical (PEC) detection technologies. The key ingredient in the PEC sensing system is the photoactive material. Due to the unique characteristics, such as a large surface area, enhanced exposure of active sites, and effective mass capture and diffusion, porous materials have been regarded as ideal sensing materials for the construction of PEC sensors. Extensive efforts have been devoted to the development and modification of PEC sensors based on porous materials. However, a review of the relationship between detection performance and the structure of porous materials is still lacking. In this work, we present an overview of PEC sensors based on porous materials. A number of typical porous materials are introduced separately, and their applications in PEC detection of different types of environmental pollutants are also discussed. More importantly, special attention has been paid to how the porous material's structure affects aspects like sensitivity, selectivity, and detection limits of the associated PEC sensor. In addition, future research perspectives in the area of PEC sensors based on porous materials are presented.

Abstract
Heterojunction structure and ion doping techniques are viable tactics in facilitating the generation and separation of photogenerated electrons and holes in photocatalysis. In the current study, a novel Bi ion-doped MIL-68(In,Bi)-NH2@BiOBr (MIBN@BOB) type-II heterojunction was first synthesized in a one-step solvothermal reaction. Doping of Bi ions not only broadened the light-sensing range but also provided reliable anchor sites for the in situ growth of BiOBr. Meanwhile, the heterostructure supplied new channels for photogenerated carriers, accelerating the transfer and inhibiting the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole. The obtained MIBN@BOB exhibited enhanced photocatalytic performance (91.1%) than MIL-68(In)-NH2 (40.8%) and BiOBr (57.5%) in ciprofloxacin (CIP) degradation under visible light, with excellent reusability. Photocatalysts were characterized in detail, and a series of photoelectrochemical tests were utilized to analyze the photoelectric properties. MIBN@BOB were deduced to conform the electron conduction mechanism of conventional type-II heterojunctions. More importantly, based on the above experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculation, BiOBr-Bi in MIBN@BOB can serve as the major active sites of CIP enrichment, and •O2- and 1O2 generated at the BiOBr interface can react with the adsorbed CIP directly. Lastly, the possible degradation products and pathways of CIP were analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS). This study provides a reference for the construction of ion-doping-modified metal-organic framework (MOF)-based heterojunction photocatalysts and their application in antibiotic removal.

Abstract
Pursuing a more efficient signal amplification strategy is highly demanded for improving the performance of the promising cathodic photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors. In this work, we present an extremely effective dual signal amplification strategy by the integration of a Z-scheme nanohybrids-based photocathode with the effective signal modulation of an organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) device. Specifically, photocathodic gate material of CdTe-BiOBr nanohybrids with a Z-scheme electron-transfer route was designed and synthesized for preliminary improvement of the activity of the photogate; afterward, signal modulation of the OPECT system by the photocathodic gate of CdTe-BiOBr was then accomplished for further signal amplification by 2 orders of magnitude. As a result, the output PEC signal of CdTe-BiOBr was enhanced by 17.5-fold as compared to BiOBr, and the channel current (IDS) of the OPECT device was 117-fold magnified than its gate current (IG) response. Exemplified by tetracycline (TC) as a model target and aptamer as the specific recognition element, a versatile cathodic aptasensing platform was constructed based on the proposed OPECT device. The introduced OPECT aptasensor merits advantages, including a good linear range (1.0 × 10-12 to 1.0 × 10-6 M), a low limit of detection (4.2 × 10-13 M), and superior sensitivity than the traditional PEC methods for TC detection, which represents a universal protocol for developing the innovative photocathodic OPECT sensing platform toward accurate analysis.

Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) layered MoS2 has good dispersion and adsorption properties, but being a narrow bandgap semiconductor limits its application in photoelectric sensing. In this study, a homogeneous photoelectrochemical sensor based on three-dimensional (3D) ZnO/Au/2D MoS2 is proposed for the ultrasensitive detection of tetracycline (TET). MoS2 is uniformly embedded on the 3D ZnO/Au surface by ordered self-assembly. The physical method of π-π interaction of MoS2 replaces the conventional use of chemically modifying aptamers on the electrode material surface. Under optimal conditions, this method has been successfully applied to the detection of TET in milk, honey, pig kidney and pork samples with reliable results. We believe that this study presents a method for the preparation of sensing carriers and target detection with great potential for application.

Abstract
Integration of extended gate field-effect transistors (EGFET) and photoelectrochemical (PEC) measurement to construct highly sensitive sensors is an innovative research field that was proven feasible by our previous work. However, it remains a challenge on how to adjust the interaction between the extended gate and the analyte and study its influence on EGFET-based PEC sensors. Herein, a new sensing strategy was proposed by a mutual electrostatic interaction. Three-dimensional TiO2 and g-C3N4 core-shell heterojunction on flexible carbon cloth (TCN) was designed as the extended sensing gate. Tetracycline (TC) was also used as a model analyte, and it contains electron-donating groups (-NH2 and -OH) with negative charge. The designed TCN-extended sensing gate was negatively charged in the dark by introducing carbon vacancies with oxygen doping in the g-C3N4 shell, while it was positively charged under illustration due to the aggregation of photogenerated holes on the surface. Therefore, a light-activated PEC sensing platform for the sensitive and selective determination of tetracycline (TC) was demonstrated. Such a PEC sensor exhibited wide linear ranges within 100 pM to 1 μM and 1-100 μM with a low detection limit of 0.42 pM. Furthermore, the sensing platform possessed excellent selectivity, good reproducibility, and stability. The proposed sensing strategy in this work can expand the paradigm for developing a light-regulated FET-based PEC sensor by mutual electrostatic interaction, and we believe that this work will offer a new perspective for the design of interface interaction in PEC devices.

Abstract
The development of effective strategies for the detection of oxytetracycline (OTC) in soil is of great importance for preserving agri-environmental safety and human health. Herein, a novel photoactive material of metal-organic framework (MOF) derived ZnO nanopolyhedra/graphitic carbon nitride (ZnO/g-C3N4) heterojunction was designed by mixing calcination of zeolite imidazole framework-8 (ZIF-8) and melamine. A self-powered photoelectrochemical aptasensor for the sensitive and selective detection of OTC in soil was proposed using ZnO/g-C3N4 as the photoanode. The photoactivity of the MOF derived ZnO nanopolyhedra was regulated effectively by the introduction of g-C3N4, which resulted in a 7-fold increase in the photocurrent of the ZnO nanopolyhedra at a bias potential of 0 V. It was assigned to the higher carrier density of ZnO/g-C3N4. By virtue of the amplified photocurrent of ZnO/g-C3N4, the specificity of the OTC aptamer and the anti-interference ability of the self-powered sensing method, the designed aptasensor demonstrated the advantages of a wide linear range (0.005-200 nM), low limit of detection (1.49 × 10-3 nM), good selectivity and good reproducibility. For real soil sample analysis, satisfactory recoveries were obtained and further verified by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS).

Abstract
Recently emerged Z-scheme heterostructure-based immunoassays have presented new opportunities for photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensing development. Here, we described a tunable signal-on PEC biosensor for the detection of cardiac troponin I (cTnI), which exploited a competitive absorption effect between Cu(II) ions and a Zr metal-organic framework (Zr-MOF) constructed on TiO2 nanorods (Cu2+@Zr-MOF@TiO2 NRs). Water-stable Zr-MOF was coated onto TiO2 NRs on fluorine-doped tin oxide to form a Z-scheme heterostructure substrate (Zr-MOF@TiO2 NRs), which exhibited a high photoelectric response. Cu2+@Zr-MOF@TiO2 NRs, constructed by loading Cu(II) ions onto the architecture of Zr-MOF by electrostatic interaction, demonstrated a low background signal. After sandwich immunorecognition within a 96-well plate, H2S, generated by confined alkaline phosphatase on zeolitic imidazolate framework-8, was directed to react with Cu(II) ions to form CuS. This resulted in an in situ change in the photoelectrode and an enhanced photoelectric signal. The developed PEC biosensing platform exhibited high sensitivity and selectivity for the cTnI immunoassay with a detection limit of 8.6 pg/mL. The Z-scheme-based competition absorption modulation of photoelectrochemistry provides a new strategy for general PEC biosensing development.

Abstract
Metal-organic framework (MOFs)-based composites have been popular in photocatalysis due to their outstanding physicochemical properties, such as large surface area, high activity and good transmission properties. Herein, a method of ionic liquids (ILs)-assisted synthesis of IL/MIL-68(In)-NH2 composite materials were proposed, and composites were used for visible light catalytic degradation of doxycycline hydrochloride (DOXH). The effects of four kinds of ionic liquids on the structure and photocatalytic properties of the composites were explored, including diethylenetriamine acetate ([DETA][OAc]), diethylenetriamine hexafluorophosphate ([DETA][PF6]), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazole acetate ([EMIM][OAc]) and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazole hexafluorophosphate ([EMIM][PF6]). The results show that the introduction of different ionic liquids affects the grain growth of MOFs material and photocatalytic activity. Among them, ILDAc/MIL-68(In)-NH2 samples showed the highest photocatalytic activity. 92% removal rate of doxycycline hydrochloride and kinetic degradation constant (0.00918 min-1) was observed under the optimal addition of ILDAc (10 wt%), which was 4.6 times that of MIL-68(In)-NH2. The enhancement was attributed to a combined effect of efficient adsorption at low concentration, an increase of active sites, and efficient charge transfer. In addition, the effects of pH and initial concentration were investigated. Finally, the photocatalytic mechanism of DOXH was elucidated, and the possible intermediate products and degradation pathways were discussed. Considering the excellent photostability and ultra-fast photodegradation of ILDAc/MIL-68(In)-NH2, this study opens up a new prospect for the preparation of ionic liquids functionalized MOFs with wide practical application value.

Abstract
Ever-increasing anthropogenic activities are radically deteriorating the environment by causing severe pollution. Thus, curtailing the environmental pollution and promotion of sustainable development, are the hot issues confronted by scientists in this modern era. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been highly recognized as emerging promising materials for environmental remediation due to their versatile structure and extraordinary properties. Among them, MILs (MIL = Matérial Institute of Lavoisier) are the series of MOFs mostly known for their incredible stability, unique tailorable pore structures, and astounding versatile environmental applications. Their exclusive physiochemical properties and multifunctionality make them proficient for a wide range of pollutants removal in the exposure of versatile harsh environments, compared to other MOFs. This piece of research summarizes the state-of-the-art of development of MILs on the broad spectrum, highlighting their specificities, such as synthesis techniques, modifications and applications for environmental remediation. However, MILs wonderful properties and extraordinary applications in multiple fields, their deployment on practical and commercial-scale pollutants remediation is hindered by insufficient scientific research on underlying mechanisms and relationships. Henceforth, this review not only signifies the emerging importance of MILs for environmental applications but also indicates the urgency to maximize the scientific research for exploitation of MOFs on a practical level and promotion of green technologies for environmental remediation.

Abstract
The complex synthesis of photoelectric materials and the difficulty of fixing the identification elements on the photoelectrode are long-standing problems in the field of photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensing. In this work, a simple PEC aptasensor construction strategy based on a sulfur-doped g-C3N4 (SCN)/n-GaN heterostructure photoelectrode was proposed. The SCN/n-GaN heterostructure can be formed through self-assembly in solution since SCN can be uniformly dispersed in solution. In addition, as a dual-function mediate, an aptamer can be fixed on an SCN substrate automatically because of the good adsorption performance of SCN. Therefore, tedious steps of PEC electrode preparation and the fixing of recognition elements were both avoided. Compared with the traditional ones, the construction difficulty and time cost of the prepared PEC aptasensors are greatly reduced. The simplified experimental process improves the stability and reproducibility of the aptasensor. Finally, tetracycline (TET) was used as a model target to verify the sensing performance of the proposed PEC strategy. TET can consume the photogenerated holes of the SCN/n-GaN heterostructure, promote carrier migration, and result in the change in the photocurrent. The linear relationship between the change in the photocurrent intensity and the TET concentration can be used to detect TET. The aptasensor has a linear range of 0.10-10.0 nmol L-1 and the detection limit is 0.030 nmol L-1 (3S/N). The aptasensor was applied to the detection of TET in milk samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract
Exploring effective methods for tetracycline (TC) detection in soil has great significance because of its emerging environmental problem and increasing threat to soil quality and general public health worldwide. In this work, a sensitive photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor toward TC detection was designed and constructed based on an efficient photosensitive material of Z-scheme CdTe-BiOBr heterojunction. Due to the sensitization of CdTe quantum dots (QDs) on the BiOBr nanoflowers, the photocurrent intensity of the CdTe-BiOBr heterojunction was enhanced about 5.0-fold and 8.0-fold than that of pure BiOBr and CdTe under visible-light irradiation, which was attributed to the low electron-hole combination efficiency, high visible light utilization efficiency, and high carrier density of the heterojunction. On the merits of the excellent PEC activity of the CdTe-BiOBr and the specificity of the aptamer, the proposed PEC aptasensor has the advantages of satisfying linear range (from 10 to 1500 pM), low detection limit (9.25 pM), good selectivity, and reproducibility. In addition, acceptable accuracy was obtained for TC detection in real soil sample, giving acceptable accuracy in comparison with the referenced high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector method, revealing a promising avenue for accurate and ultrasensitive estimation of other kinds of contaminants in the broad field of analysis.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) materials constructed by the coordination chemistry of metal ions and organic ligands are important members of the crystalline materials family. Owing to their exceptional properties, for example, high porosity, tunable pore size, and large surface area, MOFs have been applied in several fields such as gas or liquid adsorbents, sensors, batteries, and supercapacitors. However, poor conductivity and low stability hamper their potential applications in several attractive fields such as energy and gas storage. The integration of MOFs with carbon nanotubes (CNTs), a well-established carbon allotrope that exhibits high conductivity and stability, has been proposed as an efficient strategy to overcome such limitations. By combining the advantages of MOFs and CNTs, a wide variety of composites can be prepared with properties superior to their parent materials. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the preparation of CNT@MOF composites and focuses on their recent applications in several important fields, such as water purification, gas storage and separation, sensing, electrocatalysis, and energy storage (supercapacitors and batteries). Future challenges and prospects for CNT@MOF composites are also discussed.

Abstract
Nowadays, the emerging photoelectrochemical (PEC) bioanalysis has drawn intensive interest due to its numerous merits. As one of its core elements, functional nanostructured materials play a crucial role during the construction of PEC biosensors, which can not only be employed as transducers but also act as signal probes. Although both chemical composition and morphology control of nanostructured materials contribute to the excellent analytical performance of PEC bioassay, surveys addressing nanostructures with different dimensionality have rarely been reported. In this review, according to classification based on dimensionality, zero-dimensional, one-dimensional, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional nanostructures used in PEC bioanalysis are evaluated, with an emphasis on the effect of morphology on the detection performances. Furthermore, using the illustration of recent works, related novel PEC biosensing patterns with promising applications are also discussed. Finally, the current challenges and some future perspectives in this field are addressed based on our opinions.

Abstract
A photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor on basis of [Ru(bpy)3]2+@Ce-UiO-66/Mn:Bi2S3 composites was constructed for detecting ofloxacin (OFL). First, Ce-UiO-66, prepared by a solvothermal method, had Zr4+-Zr3+ and Ce4+-Ce3+ intervalence cycles to increase the charge separation efficiency. Subsequently, Ce-UiO-66 was further modified by [Ru(bpy)3]2+ and Mn:Bi2S3 cosensitization to improve the photoelectric activity. [Ru(bpy)3]2+ not only broadened the range of light absorbed but also reacted with an electron donor to maintain the photoelectric conversion process. Among the [Ru(bpy)3]2+@Ce-UiO-66/Mn:Bi2S3 heterojunction, Mn:Bi2S3 was a photosensitizer, which maximized the efficiency of the electron-hole separation and significantly improved photocurrent. Then, an aptamer was used as a biorecognition unit for OFL-specific detection. Under the best conditions, the PEC aptasensor realized the sensitive detection of OFL, with a detection range of 0.01-100 nmol/L and a detection limit of 6 pmol/L. In addition, the constructed PEC OFL sensor showed good reproducibility, stability, and specificity.

Abstract
The development of efficient visible-light-driven photocatalysts is one of the critically important issues for solar hydrogen production. Herein, high-efficiency visible-light-driven In2 O3 /CdZnS hybrid photocatalysts are explored by a facile oil-bath method, in which ultrafine CdZnS nanoparticles are anchored on NH2 -MIL-68-derived fusiform In2 O3 mesoporous nanorods. It is disclosed that the as-prepared In2 O3 /CdZnS hybrid photocatalysts exhibit enhanced visible-light harvesting, improves charges transfer and separation as well as abundant active sites. Correspondingly, their visible-light-driven H2 production rate is significantly enhanced for more than 185 times to that of pristine In2 O3 nanorods, and superior to most of In2 O3 -based photocatalysts ever reported, representing their promising applications in advanced photocatalysts.

Abstract
The residual tetracyclines in food are frequently applied as the model compounds to develop aptasensors. Until now, more than 100 advanced aptasensors towards tetracyclines have been developed and published in English. This review summarizes and discusses comprehensively these advanced aptasensors, in terms of the principle designs, applied frontier transducers/materials, working performance, and advantages/disadvantages. The aptasensors are classified according to the inherent transduction techniques, i.e., optics, optics-electricity, optics-mass, and electricity-mass. Moreover, the present challenges such as the limited specificity and limited affinity of the aptamers, the future prospects and trends such as further combination with other advanced materials and technologies, and the urgent need of expanding the practical application were discussed and prospected. We hope this review can serve as a powerful tool for both tracing the development progresses of aptasensors and providing adequate references for further development of aptasensing methods for food-related analytes.

Abstract
The detection of antimicrobial residues in food products of animal origin is of utmost importance. Indeed antimicrobial residues could be present in animal derived food products because of animal treatments for curative purposes or from illegal use. The usual screening methods to detect antimicrobial residues in food are microbiological, immunological or physico-chemical methods. The development of biosensors to propose sensitive, cheap and quick alternatives to classical methods is constantly increasing. Aptasensors are one of the major trends proposed in the literature, in parallel with the development of immunosensors based on antibodies. The characteristics of electrochemical sensors (i.e., low cost, miniaturization, and portable instrumentation) make them very good candidates to develop screening methods for antimicrobial residues in food products. This review will focus on the recent advances in the development of electrochemical aptasensors for the detection of antimicrobial residues in food products. The contribution of nanomaterials to improve the performance characteristics of electrochemical aptasensors (e.g., Sensitivity, easiness, stability) in the last ten years, as well as signal amplification techniques will be highlighted.

Abstract
As a class of crystalline porous materials, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted increasing attention. Due to the nanoscale framework structure, adjustable pore size, large specific surface area, and good chemical stability, MOFs have been applied widely in many fields such as biosensors, biomedicine, electrocatalysis, energy storage and conversions. Especially when they are combined with aptamer functionalization, MOFs can be utilized to construct high-performance biosensors for numerous applications ranging from medical diagnostics and food safety inspection, to environmental surveillance. Herein, this article reviews recent innovations of aptamer-functionalized MOFs-based biosensors and their bio-applications. We first briefly introduce different functionalization methods of MOFs with aptamers, which provide a foundation for the construction of MOFs-based aptasensors. Then, we comprehensively summarize different types of MOFs-based aptasensors and their applications, in which MOFs serve as either signal probes or signal probe carriers for optical, electrochemical, and photoelectrochemical detection, with an emphasis on the former. Given recent substantial research interests in stimuli-responsive materials and the microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology, we also present the stimuli-responsive aptamer-functionalized MOFs for sensing, followed by a brief overview on the integration of MOFs on microfluidic devices. Current limitations and prospective trends of MOFs-based biosensors are discussed at the end.

Abstract
This study describes the development, verification and practical application of an aptasensor for the fluorometric detection of kanamycin. Using the nucleic acid aptamer with FAM fluorescent group as the conjugate, using gold nanoparticles as the fluorescence dynamic quenching source, a fluorescence sensor was fabricated through the signal-on method for the micro-detection of kanamycin. The nucleic acid chimera is connected to the fluorophore, and the gold nanoparticles are used as the fluorescence dynamic quenching source under actual conditions. The detection limit of kanamycin is 0.1 pM, and the detection range is 0.1 pM to 0.1 μM. This biosensor works satisfactorily in complex samples with no impurities, which gives this method an obvious advantage over other analytical methods. In addition, the mechanism of action between gold nanoparticles/FAM-aptamer/kanamycin is discussed and studied in depth here. It provides a more thorough analysis and more application possibilities for fluorescence-aptamer biosensing.

Abstract
Aptasensors form a class of biosensors that function on the basis of a biological recognition. An aptasensor is advantageous because it incorporates a unique biologic recognition element, i.e., an aptamer, coupled to a transducer to convert a biological interaction to readable signals that can be easily processed and reported. In such biosensors, the specificity of aptamers is comparable to and sometimes even better than that of antibodies. Using the SELEX technique, aptamers with high specificity and affinity to various targets can be isolated from large pools of different oligonucleotides. Nowadays, new modifications of the SELEX technique and, as a result, easy generation and synthesis of aptamers have led to the wide application of these materials as biological receptors in biosensors. In this regard, aptamers promise a bright future. In the present research a brief account is initially provided of the recent developments in aptasensors for various targets. Then, immobilization methods, design strategies, current limitations and future directions are discussed for aptasensors.

Abstract
In this work, we fabricate a novel bismuth vanadate/two dimensional-carbon nitride/deoxyribonucleic acid (BiVO4/2D-C3N4/DNA) aptamer photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor, and this sensor provides a record detection sensitivity area (5 × 10-7 μg/L - 10 μg/L) for Microcystin-LR (MC-LR). Meanwhile, except for MC-LR detection, this sensor presents highly sensitivity for tumor marker, heavy metal ion, antibiotic also by changing the DNA aptamer. Photo charge dynamic and theory calculation results reveal that 2D-C3N4 is a key material for multifunctional interface reconciliation of this PEC aptamer sensor. Firstly, it can serve as photogenerated hole oriented-transfer medium from the BiVO4 photoanode to the detective target; In addition, 2D-C3N4 with large area of π electron cloud can fix the DNA aptamer parallelly by π-π bonding with the nucleic acid in the DNA aptamer to shorten the hole transfer distance from the semiconductor to target. So that, a record MC-LR detection sensitivity has been achieved by the 2D-C3N4 modified BiVO4/DNA aptamer sensor.

Abstract
Herein, a novel aptasensor was constructed for ultrasensitive detection of bisphenol A (BPA). In this method, an electrochemically mediated atom transfer radical polymerization (eATRP) signal amplification strategy was applied to BPA detection for the first time. The 5'-end modified sulfhydryl group and the 3'-end modified azide group hairpin DNA were immobilized on a gold electrode through an Au-S bond. The double-stranded DNA was formed by the hybridization of an aptamer and a single-stranded DNA partially paired with the hairpin DNA. In the presence of BPA, the aptamer combined with BPA and the single-stranded DNA was released to open the hairpin structure, making the azide groups at the 3' end exposed. Subsequently the initiator of eATRP was introduced into hairpin DNA through click chemistry reaction and eATRP was conducted for the polymerization of the electroactive probe ferrocene methyl methacrylate (FMMA). As a result, the ultrasensitive detection of BPA was realized, and the detection limit of this aptasensor was as low as 59 aM and a good selectivity was obtained in the presence of 100-fold structural analogs. The application of this aptasensor was evaluated by detecting BPA in pure water samples, and recoveries were in the range of 95.23-98.40%, holding promising applications in biological analysis.
