Abstract
An efficient general method for the synthesis of a wide family of α-aminophosphonate analogs of aspartic acid bearing tetrasubstituted carbons is reported through an aza-Reformatsky reaction of α-iminophosphonates, generated from α-aminophosphonates, in an umpolung process. In addition, the α-aminophosphonate substrates showed in vitro cytotoxicity, inhibiting the growth of carcinoma human tumor cell lines A549 (carcinomic human alveolar basal epithelial cell) and SKOV3 (human ovarian carcinoma). In view of the possibilities in the diversity of the substituents that offer the synthetic methodology, an extensive profile structure-activity is presented, measuring IC50 values up to 0.34 µM in the A549 and 9.8 µM in SKOV3 cell lines.

Abstract
A series of novel α-aminophosphonate derivatives containing hydrazone were designed and synthesized based on active fragments. Bioassay results demonstrated that title compounds possessed good activities against tobacco mosaic virus. Among them, compounds 6a, 6g, 6i, and 6j were equivalent to the commercial antiviral agents like dufulin. On structure optimization-based molecular docking, compound 6k was synthesized and displayed excellent activity with values of 65.1% curative activity, 74.3% protective activity, and 94.3% inactivation activity, which were significantly superior to the commercial antiviral agents dufulin and ningnanmycin. Therefore, this study indicated that new lead compounds could be developed by adopting a joint strategy with active fragments and molecular docking.

Abstract
Intramolecular hydroarylation-redox cross-dehydrogenative coupling of N-propargylanilines with phosphite diesters proceeded in the presence of Cu(I)-catalysts (20 mol%) to selectively give 2-phosphono-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines in good yields with 100% atomic utilization. P-H and two C-H bonds are activated at once and these hydrogen atoms are trapped by a propargylic triple bond in the molecule.

Abstract
The reaction of alkene-tethered trifluoroacetimidoyl chlorides with trialkyl phosphites furnishes 1-amino-2,2,2-trifluoroalkylphosphonates. The products were generated in moderate to good yields, and the scalability of this process was showcased. Partial hydrolysis of the phosphonate moiety was achieved. The cyclization is proposed to occur via formation of an imidoyl phosphonate intermediate that becomes susceptible to nucleophilic attack at nitrogen through the strong electron-withdrawing groups at the imidoyl carbon.

Abstract
Due to their structural similarity with natural α-amino acids, α-aminophosphonic acid derivatives are known biologically active molecules. In view of the relevance of tetrasubstituted carbons in nature and medicine and the strong dependence of the biological activity of chiral molecules into their absolute configuration, the synthesis of α-aminophosphonates bearing tetrasubstituted carbons in an asymmetric fashion has grown in interest in the past few decades. In the following lines, the existing literatures for the synthesis of optically active tetrasubstituted α-aminophosphonates are summarized, comprising diastereoselective and enantioselective approaches.

Abstract
Background:As a new kind of green media and bioactive compounds with special structure, Ionic Liquids (ILs) are attracting much attention and applied widely in many fields. However, their roles and potential have not been fully recognized by many researchers of medicinal chemistry. Because of obvious differences from other traditional drugs and reagents, their uses and performance together with advantages and disadvantages need to be explored and reviewed in detail. Methods:For a systematic and explicit description of the relationship between ILs and medicinal chemistry, all of the contents were elucidated and summarized in a series of independent parts. In each part, it started from the research background or a conceptual framework and then specific examples were introduced to illustrate the theme. Finally, the important conclusions were drawn and its future was outlooked after the discussion about related key problems appearing in each mentioned research. Meanwhile, methodologies such as empirical analysis, comparison and induction were applied in different sections to exposit our subject. Results:The whole review was composed of five parts, and 148 papers were cited in total. Related basic information of ionic liquids was provided on the basis of representative references, including their concepts and important characters. Then 82 papers outlined ionic liquid-like active pharmaceutical ingredients, which unfolded with their major biological activities (antimicrobial activity, antibiofilm activity, antitumor activity, anticholinesterase activity and so on). Applications of ionic liquids in the synthesis of drugs and pharmaceutical intermediates were elaborated in 92 papers to illustrate the important roles of ILs and their extraordinary properties in this field. Moreover, new technologies (such as immobilization of IL, microwave reaction, solventfree synthesis, microreactor, etc) were introduced for further innovation. Finally, 26 papers were included to expound the status of the IL-assisted derivatization of various natural lead compounds. Conclusion:This review placed emphasis on chemical structures of ILs and their structureactivity relationships in a specific manner, leading to meaningful and valuable related information to some related fields and thus promotes further development and application of various ILs for medicinal chemistry. The deep exploration for key scientific problems is the driving force to propel their theoretical breakthrough and industrial production.

Abstract
A practical method for synthesizing chiral α-amino phosphonic acid derivatives was developed. Readily available and stable N-o-nitrophenylsulfenyl (Nps) imino phosphonate was utilized as a substrate for a highly enantioselective Friedel-Crafts-type addition of indole or pyrrole nucleophiles catalyzed by chiral phosphoric acid. The resulting adduct was easily converted into N-9-fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl (Fmoc) amino phosphonic acid, which is useful for synthesizing peptides containing an amino phosphonic acid.

Abstract
A new diphenyl (aryl) (Ǹ-quinazolin-4-yl-hydrazino) methylphosphonates 3a-3d was synthesized via anhydrous zinc chloride catalyzed Kabachnic-Fields reaction. The structure of the synthesized compounds was confirmed by elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 31P NMR and MS spectral data. The synthesized compounds showed significant antimicrobial and also remarkable cytotoxicity anticancer activities against breast carcinoma cell line (MCF7). The quantum chemical calculations were performed using density functional theory (DFT) to study the effect of the changes of molecular and electronic structures on the biological activity of the investigated compounds. Also, NBO and theoretical FT-IR were calculated. The experimental results were validated by molecular docking simulation of compound 3b in the active pocket of the enzyme. The important binding interactions with the key residues in the active site were revealed. A good correlation was found between the quantum chemical parameters and experimental data.

Abstract
In this paper, we report the synthesis of a new series of α-aminophosphonates derivatives based in an efficient three-component reaction. All compounds prepared showed significant anti-inflammatory activity, being the compounds 1a, 1c, 1d, 1f, 2b and 2c the most promising ones, in terms of maximal efficacy (over 95%), potency (ED50 range between 0.7 and 10.1 mg/ear) and relative potency (range from 0.04 to 0.67). Compounds 1a, 1c, 1d and 1f significantly decrease the number of neutrophils (range from 46.7 to 63.0%) and monocytes (18.9-34.1%) in blood samples from the orbital sinus. Additionally, QSAR model revealed that the spherical molecular shape and the location of the HOMO on the phenyl ring improves the anti-inflammatory activity of the compounds. The values of R2, Q2, s and F statistical parameters and the QUIK, asymptotic Q2 and Overfitting rules validate the descriptive and predictive ability of the QSAR model. Altogether these results suggest that these new α-aminophosphonates are potential agents for the treatment of inflammation.

Abstract
The application of Rhodospirillum toruloides strain allowed resolving the chemically synthesized racemic mixtures of following chiral aminophosphonic acids: 1-aminoethylphosphonic acid (1), 1-amino-1-iso-propyl-1-phosphonic acid (2), 1-amino-1-phenylmethylphosphonic acid (4) and 1-amino-2-phenylethylphosphonic acid (3). The applied protocols resulted in obtaining pure (R)-1-aminoethylphosphonic acid (100 % of e.e.) and enantiomerically enriched mixtures of other phosphonates (73 % e.e. of (S)-1-amino-1-phenylmethylphosphonic acid, 51 % e.e. of (R)-1-amino-2-phenylethylphosphonic acid and 40 % e.e. of (S)-1-amino-2-methylpropylphosphonic acid). Products are valuable chiral building blocks and serve as aminophosphonic acids platform for further applications. Performed experiments allowed to define the path of xenobiotics bioconversion.

Abstract
The friction and adhesion between pairs of materials (silica, alumina, and polytetrafluoroethylene) have been studied and interpreted in terms of the long-ranged interactions present. In ambient laboratory air, the interactions are dominated by van der Waals attraction and strong adhesion leading to significant frictional forces. In the presence of the ionic liquid (IL) ethylammonium nitrate (EAN) the van der Waals interaction is suppressed and the attractive/adhesive interactions which lead to "stiction" are removed, resulting in an at least a 10-fold reduction in the friction force at large applied loads. The friction coefficient for each system was determined; coefficients obtained in air were significantly larger than those obtained in the presence of EAN (which ranged between 0.1 and 0.25), and variation in the friction coefficients between systems was correlated with changes in surface roughness. As the viscosity of ILs can be relatively high, which has implications for the lubricating properties, the hydrodynamic forces between the surfaces have therefore also been studied. The linear increase in repulsive force with speed, expected from hydrodynamic interactions, is clearly observed, and these forces further inhibit the potential for stiction. Remarkably, the viscosity extracted from the data is dramatically reduced compared to the bulk value, indicative of a surface ordering effect which significantly reduces viscous losses.

Abstract
Several fungal strains, namely Bauveria bassiana, Cuninghamella echinulata, Aspergillus fumigatus, Penicillium crustosum and Cladosporium herbarum, were used as biocatalysts to resolve racemic mixtures of 1-aminoethanephosphonic acid using L/D amino acid oxidase activity. The course of reaction was analyzed by 31P-NMR in the presence of cyclodextrin used as chiral discriminating agent. The best result (42% e.e of R-isomer) was obtained with a strain of Cuninghamella echinulata.
