Abstract
3-Phenyl-2-(thio-phen-3-yl)-2,3-di-hydro-4H-pyrido[3,2-e][1,3]thia-zin-4-one (C17H12N2OS2, 1) and 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)-3-phenyl-2,3-di-hydro-4H-pyrido[3,2-e][1,3]thia-zin-4-one 0.438-hydrate (C21H15N3OS·0.438H2O, 2) crystallize in space groups P21/n and C2/c, respectively. The asymmetric unit in each case is comprised of two parent mol-ecules, albeit of mixed chirality in the case of 1 and of similar chirality in 2 with the enanti-omers occupying the neighboring asymmetric units. Structure 2 also has water mol-ecules (partial occupancies) that form continuous channels along the b -axis direction. The thia-zine rings in both structures exhibit an envelope conformation. Inter-molecular inter-actions in 1 are defined only by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds between crystallographically independent mol-ecules. In 2, hydrogen bonds of the type N-H⋯O between independent mol-ecules and C-H⋯N(π) type, and π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings of symmetry-related mol-ecules are observed.

Abstract
In the racemic title compound, C26H24N2O2S2, one of the thia-zine rings shows a twisted boat conformation (Q = 0.743 Å, θ = 92.1°) and the other a half-chair puckering (Q = 0.669 Å, θ = 54.3°). The terminal phenyl rings are almost parallel to each other [dihedral angle 21.71 (10)°]. Both of these rings are orthogonal to the central phenyl ring, subtending a dihedral angle of about 78° in each case. The extended structure is consolidated by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds as well as aromatic ring inter-actions of parallel-displaced and T-type. The mol-ecule has approximate C2 local symmetry but this is not carried over to its three-dimensional structure or the inter-molecular inter-actions.

Abstract
A series of fourteen 2-aryl-3-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-4H-pyrido[3,2-e][1,3]thiazin-4-ones was prepared at room temperature by T3P-mediated cyclization of N-phenyl-C-aryl imines with thionicotinic acid, two difficult substrates. The reactions were operationally simple, did not require specialized equipment or anhydrous solvents, could be performed as either two or three component reactions, and gave moderate–good yields as high as 63%. This provides ready access to N-phenyl compounds in this family, which have been generally difficult to prepare. As part of the study, the first crystal structure of neutral thionicotinic acid is also reported, and showed the molecule to be in the form of the thione tautomer. Additionally, the synthesized compounds were tested against T. brucei, the causative agent of Human African Sleeping Sickness. Screening at 50 µM concentration showed that five of the compounds strongly inhibited growth and killed parasites.

Abstract
The synthesis and crystal structures of 2-(4-fluoro-phen-yl)-3-phenyl-2,3-di-hydro-4H-pyrido[3,2-e][1,3]thia-zin-4-one toluene hemisolvate (1), C19H13FN2OS·0.5C7H8, and 2-(4-nitro-phen-yl)-3-phenyl-2,3-di-hydro-4H-pyrido[3,2-e][1,3]thia-zin-4-one iso-propanol 0.25-solvate 0.0625-hydrate (2), C19H13N3O3S·0.25C3H7O·0.0625H2O, are reported. Both are racemic mixtures (centrosymmetric crystal structures) of the individual com-pounds and incorporate solvent mol-ecules in their structures. Compound 2 has four thia-zine mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. All the thia-zine rings in this study show an envelope pucker, with the C atom bearing the substituted phenyl ring displaced from the other atoms. The phenyl and aryl rings in each of the mol-ecules are roughly orthogonal to each other, with dihedral angles of about 75°. The extended structures of 1 and 2 are consolidated by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N(π), as well as T-type (C-H⋯π) inter-actions. Parallel aromatic ring inter-actions (π-π stacking) are observed only in 2.

Abstract
In this paper, a simple and practical synthesis of benzo[e]benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c][1,3]thiazin-6-imine tetracyclic heterocycles via a CuI nanoparticle-catalyzed intramolecular C(sp2)-S coupling reaction is presented. This strategy provides a straightforward method for synthesizing analogs of the anti-HIV drug 3,4-dihydro-2H,6H-pyrimido[1,2-c][1,3]benzothiazin-6-imine (PD 404182). The reaction rate and yield were increased by employing CuI nanoparticles.

Abstract
Several aza-C-pseudonucleosides bearing 1,3-benzothiazin-4-one (6 and 7) were prepared by the one-pot three-component condensation from the iminosugar aldehyde 3, amino acid ethyl/methyl ester hydrochlorides 4(a-c), and 2-mercaptobenzoic acid 5. After removal of Boc and the isopropylidene groups, the target novel tetracyclic iminosugars fused benzo[e][1,3]thiazin-4-one 1(a-c) and 2(a-b) were first afforded by the intramolecular cyclo-amidation reaction. Their structures were determined by their (1)H, (13)C NMR, and HRMS (ESI) spectra and X-ray. The tetracyclic iminosugars 1(a-c) and 2(a-b) were examined for their HIV reverse transcriptase (RT) inhibitory activities. The result showed that all compounds could effectively inhibit RT activity. Among them, compound 2a was the best one with the IC50 value of RT inhibitory activity of 0.82μM. Structure-activity relationship analysis suggested that 1'R configuration in the tetracyclic azasugars was of benefit to their anti-HIV RT activity.

Abstract
The antioxidant properties of two series of thiazolidinones and thiazinanones were reported. The novel six-membered thiazinanones were synthesized from the efficient multicomponent reaction of 2-picolylamine (2-aminomethylpyridine), arenaldehydes, and the 3-mercaptopropionic acid in moderate to excellent yields. These novel compounds were fully identified and characterized by NMR and GC-MS techniques. In vitro antioxidant activities of all compounds were evaluated by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2'-azinobis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) tests. The antioxidant assays of thiobarbituric acid reactive species and total thiol content levels in the cerebral cortex and liver of rats were also performed. Thiazinanone 5a showed the best radical scavenging activity in DPPH and ABTS tests, as well as reduced lipid peroxidation and increased total thiol group in biological systems. Altogether, the results may be considered a good starting point for the discovery of a new radical scavenger.

Secondary amines react with thiosalicylaldehydes
in the presence
of catalytic amounts of acetic acid to generate ring-fused N,S-acetals in redox-neutral fashion. A
broad range of amines undergo α-sulfenylation, including challenging
substrates such morpholine, thiomorpholine, and piperazines. Computational
studies employing density functional theory indicate that acetic acid
reduces the energy barriers of two separate steps, both of which involve
proton transfer.

Abstract
5,5-Dimethyl-2-[(2-substitutedphenylhydrazinyl)methylene]cyclohexane-1,3-dione, obtained from heating dimedone with N,N‘-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal (DMF-DMA) and phenyl hydrazines, on cyclisation in ethanol gave 6,7-dihydro-1 H-indazol-4(5 H)-ones. The thiosemicarbazone derivative of 6,7-dihydro-1 H-indazole-4(5 H)-ones, on cyclocondensation with a and (3-haloacids in the presence of N,N‘-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide afforded new thiazolidin-4-ones and 1,3-thiazinan-4-ones respectively. Thiosemicarbazone of 6,7-dihydro-1 H-indazol-4(5 H)-ones on stirring with phenacyl bromides yields 2,4-disubstituted thiazoles. X-ray structure of the intermediate compound 5-dimethyl-2-[(2-phenylhydrazinyl)methylene] cyclohexane-1,3-dione was determined.
