Ge-Doped Boron Nitride Nanoclusters Functionalized with Amino Acids for Enhanced Binding of Bisphenols A and Z: A Density Functional Theory Study

This study uses density functional theory to investigate boron nitride nanoclusters functionalized with amino acids for enhanced binding of bisphenols A (BPA) and Z (BPZ) to mimic the estrogen-related receptor gamma. Three categories of nanoclusters were examined: pristine B12N12, and those which were germanium-doped for boron or nitrogen. The study reveals that hydrogen bonding patterns and molecular stability are significantly influenced by the type of functional group and the specific amino acids involved. Ge-doping generally enhances the binding stability and spontaneity of the nanocluster-amino acid-bisphenol complexes, with Glu 275 emerging as the most stable binding site. The analysis of electronic properties such as energy gap, ionization potential, electron affinity, and chemical hardness before and after bisphenol binding indicates a general trend of increased reactivity, particularly in Ge-doped nanoclusters. The findings highlight the potential of these nanocluster composites in applications requiring high reactivity and electron mobility, such as pollutant removal and drug delivery.

A novel polymer micelle as a targeted drug delivery system for 10-hydroxycamptothecin with high drug-loading properties and anti-tumor efficacy

A novel polyethylene glycol-polycaprolactone-poly-l-tyrosine (MPEG-PCL-PTyr) amphiphilic triblock copolymer micelle was synthesized for the first time. 10-hydroxycamptothecin (HCPT) was embedded in MPEG-PCL-PTyr nanomicelles using the emulsion solvent evaporation method. A series of was conducted to confirm the structure of the compound and to evaluate the physical properties of the MPEG-PCL-PTyr nanomicelles. Cellular uptake, cytotoxicity, and apoptosis were assessed using flow cytometry and MTT assays. Confocal microscopy and flow cytometry results demonstrated that the nanocapsules carrying HCPT had significantly increased anti-tumor activity against HepG2 cells and could target HepG2 cell lysosomes with obvious liver targeting. In addition, the drug-loaded nanomicelles could significantly block the S phase of cancer cells and induce apoptosis; thus, they could be potential carriers for future 10-HCPT delivery and cancer treatment.

The structural reconformation of peptides in enhancing functional and therapeutic properties: Insights into their solid state crystallizations

Therapeutic peptides derived proteins with alpha-reconformation states like antibody shape have shown potential effects in combating terrible diseases linked with earlier signs of angiogensis, mutagenesis and transgenesis. Alpha reconformation in material design refers to the folding of the peptide chains and their transitions under reversible chemical bonds of disulfide chemical bridges and further non-covalence lesions. Thus, the rational design of signal peptides into alpha-helix is intended in increasing the defending effects of peptides into cores like adjuvant antibiotic and/or vaccines. Thereby, the signal peptides are able in displaying multiple eradicating regions by changing crystal-depositions and deviation angles. These types of molecular structures could have multiple advantages in tracing disease syndromes and impurities by increasing the host defense against the fates of pathogens and viruses, eventually leading to the loss in signaling by increasing peptide susceptibility levels to folding and unfolding and therefore, formation of transgenic peptide models. Alpha reconformation peptides is aimed in triggering as well as other regulatory functions such as remodulating metabolic chain disorders of lipolysis and glucolysis by increasing the insulin and leptin resistance for best lipid storages and lipoprotein density distributions.
