Abstract
Naturally occurring peroxides received great interest and attention from scientific research groups worldwide due to their structural diversity, versatile biological activities, and pharmaceutical properties. In the present review, we describe the historical discovery of natural peroxides from plants systematically and update the researchers with recently explored ones justifying their structural caterogrization and biological/pharmaceutical properties intensively. Till the end of 2023, 192 peroxy natural products from plants were documented herein for the first time implying most categories of natural scaffolds (e. g. terpenes, polyketides, phenolics and alkaloids). Numerically, the reported plants' peroxides have been classified into seventy-four hydro-peroxides, hundred seven endo-peroxides and eleven acyl-peroxides. Endo-peroxides (cyclic alkyl peroxides) are an important group due to their high variety of structural frameworks, and we have further divided them into "four-, five-, six and seven"-membered rings. Biosynthetically, a shedding light on the intricate mechanisms behind the formation of plant-derived peroxides are addressed as well.

Abstract
Ten new highly oxidized monomeric (1-8) and dimeric guaianolides (9 and 10), along with two known guaianolide derivatives (11 and 12), were isolated from the aerial parts of Chrysanthemum indicum using a bioassay-guided fractionation procedure. The new compounds were characterized by the basic analysis of the spectroscopic data obtained, and the absolute configurations were determined by both empirical approaches and ECD calculations. Inhibitory effects of 1-12 on nitric oxide production were investigated in lipopolysaccaride (LPS)-mediated RAW 264.7 cells, and most of them (1-8 and 11) displayed IC50 values in the range 1.4-9.7 μM. Moreover, a mechanistic study revealed that the potential anti-inflammatory activity of compound 1 appears to be mediated via suppression of an LPS-induced NF-κB pathway and down-regulation of MAPK activation.

Abstract
Abstract
In continuation of our chemical investigation on some medicinal plants of the genus Achillea, chromatographic investigation of the methylene chloride/methanol (1:1) extract of the air-dried aerial part of Achillea biebersteinii Afan. (family Asteraceae) afforded a new natural monoterpene (2), in addition to two known sesquiterpenes (3 and 4). Compound 1 was isolated as light needle crystals. Structures were established on the basis of MS and NMR spectroscopic (1H, 13C, 1H-1H correlation spectroscopy, heteronuclear multiple-quantum coherence and heteronuclear multiple-bond correlation) data and in case of compound 1 were confirmed by X-ray analysis. All isolated compounds were examined for their anti-inflammatory activity to inhibit lipopolysaccharide-induced NO production in RAW264.7 macrophage cells. Compounds 3 and 4 produced a promising anti-inflammatory effect (76% and 80% inhibition, respectively). However, compounds 1 and 2 produced moderate inhibition of NO release recording a 41% and 36% inhibition of NO production, respectively.

Abstract
The aim of this work was to study the chemical composition, antioxidant and antibacterial properties of Achillea distans Waldst. et Kit. subsp. distans and Achillea distans Waldst. et Kit. subsp. alpina Rochel, from the Rodna Mountains (Romania). The identification and quantification of major phenolic compounds was performed by a HPLC-MS method. The total polyphenolic and flavonoid content was determined spectrophotometrically. The antioxidant activity was evaluated using the DPPH bleaching method, trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity assay (TEAC), hemoglobin ascorbate peroxidase activity inhibition (HAPX) assay, and an Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy method. A data indicated that A. distans subsp. alpina extract has more antioxidant activity than A. distans subsp. distans extract. Luteolin, apigenin, quercetin, caffeic and chlorogenic acids were present in the two extracts of A. distans, but in different amounts. Three flavonoids were detected only in A. distans subsp. alpina. The polyphenol-richer A. distans subsp. alpina extract showed a higher antioxidant activity than A.distans subsp. distans extract. A.distans subsp. distans extract showed inhibitory activity for Gram-positive bacteria, as evaluated with four species. The quantitative and qualitative differences between the two subspecies of Achillea distans could be used as a potential taxonomic marker in order to distinguish the species.

Abstract
In a screening program for natural products that can overcome TRAIL resistance, a new eudesmane-type sesquiterpenoid (1), three new guaianolides, mehirugins A-C (2-4), and two known guaianolides (5 and 6) were isolated from a MeOH extract of Kandelia candel leaves. Compounds 1 and 3-6 in combination with TRAIL showed cytotoxic activity in sensitizing TRAIL-resistant human gastric adenocarcinoma cells.

Abstract
The essential oil of Achillea distans W. et K. flower heads was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Altogether 43 components in concentrations more than 0.1% were identified representing 93.5% of the oil composition. The main constituents were 1,8-cineole (16.8%), trans-thujone (9.8%), sabinene (8.2%), borneol (7.5%), β-pinene (6.5%), and camphor (5.8%). The oil showed moderate activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans, and weak activity against Salmonella typhimurium, Proteus vulgaris, and Escherichia coli.
