Abstract
3D printing technology, especially coaxial 3D mode of multiple-component shaping, has great potential in the manufacture of personalized nutritional foods. However, integrating and stabilizing functional objectives of different natures remains a challenge for 3D customized foods. Here, we used starch nanoparticle (SNP) to assisted soy protein (SPI) emulsion to load hydrophilic and hydrophobic bioactives (anthocyanin, AC, and curcumin, Cur). The addition of SNP significantly improved the storage stability of the emulsion. Xanthan gum (XG) was also added to the SNP/SPI system to enhance its rheology and form an emulsion gel as inner core of coaxial 3D printing. Low field nuclear magnetic resonance and emulsification analyses showed that AC/Cur@SNP/SPI/XG functional inner core had a strong water binding state and good stability. After printing with outer layer, the SNP/SPI coaxial sample had the lowest deviation rate of 0.8 %. Also, SNP/SPI coaxial sample showed higher AC (90.2 %) and Cur (90.8 %) retention compared to pure starch (S), pure SNP, pure SPI, and S/SPI samples as well as SNP/SPI sample printed without outer layer. In summary, this study provides a new perspective for the manufacture of customized products as multifunctional foods, feeds and even potential delivery of drugs.

Abstract
Upon the pressure of conventional land agriculture and marine environment facing the future of human beings, the emerging of alternative proteins represented by cultured meat is expected with a breakthrough of efficient, safe and sustainable production. However, the cell proliferation efficiency and final myofiber density in current animal-derived scaffolds are still limited. Here, we incorporated five plant-derived edible polymeric glucosyl nanoparticles (GNPs) into gelatin/alginate hydrogels to spontaneously form nanoaggregates where nanotopographies were observed inside. The nanoscale topological morphology significantly enhances the adhesion and proliferation efficiencies of piscine satellite cells (PSCs) in the tailored extracellular matrix of as-prepared scaffold. Physically, the presence of GNP-induced nanoaggregate increases the interaction between ITG-A1 (membrane protein of PSCs) and hydrogel microenvironment, which activates the focal adhesion-integrin-cytoskeleton mechanotransduction signaling to promote cell proliferation. With a controlled diameter of hydrogel filament, these inner topological GNP nanoaggregates can also improve the density, alignment and differentiation efficiency of PSCs. When cultured in vitro for 15 days, the cell density, size and orientation of muscle fibers in the GNP-stimulated cultured fish fillet are very similar to the total cell mass in native fish muscle tissue.

Abstract
Three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting has great potential in the applications of tissue engineering, including cell culturing meat, because of its versatility and bioimitability. However, existing bio-inks used as edible scaffold materials lack high biocompatibility and mechanical strength to enable cell growth inside. Here, we added starch nanoparticles (SNPs) in a gelatin/sodium alginate (Gel/SA) hydrogel to enhance printing and supporting properties and created a microenvironment for adherent proliferation of piscine satellite cells (PSCs). We demonstrated the biocompatibility of SNPs for cells, with increasing 20.8% cell viability and 36.1% adhesion rate after 5 days of incubation. Transcriptomics analysis showed the mechanisms underlying the effects of SNPs on the adherent behavior of myoblasts. The 1% SNP group had a low gel point and viscosity for shaping with PSCs infusion and had a high cell number and myotube fusion index after cultivation. Furthermore, the formation of 3D muscle tissue with thicker myofibers was shown in the SNP-Gel/SA hydrogel by immunological staining.

Abstract
Inflammation-associated diseases encompass a range of infectious diseases and non-infectious inflammatory diseases, which continuously pose one of the most serious threats to human health, attributed to factors such as the emergence of new pathogens, increasing drug resistance, changes in living environments and lifestyles, and the aging population. Despite rapid advancements in mechanistic research and drug development for these diseases, current treatments often have limited efficacy and notable side effects, necessitating the development of more effective and targeted anti-inflammatory therapies. In recent years, the rapid development of nanotechnology has provided crucial technological support for the prevention, treatment, and detection of inflammation-associated diseases. Various types of nanoparticles (NPs) play significant roles, serving as vaccine vehicles to enhance immunogenicity and as drug carriers to improve targeting and bioavailability. NPs can also directly combat pathogens and inflammation. In addition, nanotechnology has facilitated the development of biosensors for pathogen detection and imaging techniques for inflammatory diseases. This review categorizes and characterizes different types of NPs, summarizes their applications in the prevention, treatment, and detection of infectious and inflammatory diseases. It also discusses the challenges associated with clinical translation in this field and explores the latest developments and prospects. In conclusion, nanotechnology opens up new possibilities for the comprehensive management of infectious and inflammatory diseases.

Abstract
Different types and ratios of surfactant, co-surfactant, and oil phase, have a greater impact on nanoemulsion preparation. The presence of surfactants in the nanoemulsion can reduce surface tension and characteristic stability. In this study, four groups of oil-in-water (O/W) nanoemulsions (NEs) with different ratios of surfactant and co-surfactant, and two oils were formulated as carriers of Rhodiola rosea. The variable optimization was investigated and then indicated as optimization group A (Opt A) with the formula of 10% of transcutol, 16.63% of tween 80, Opt B with 10% of tween 80, 29.87% of span 80, Opt C with 28.42% of transcutol, 30% of labrasol, and Opt D with 30% of transcutol, 30% of tween 80. Labrafac and soybean oil were used as the oil phase. The optimized formula using the response surface method (RSM) by design expert software showed the ideal conditions with a higher desirability score. Desirability score are 0.72% (Opt A), 0.81% (Opt B), 0.76% (Opt C) and 0.98% (Opt D), the desirability rating close to 1 indicates a high possibility that the projected values would closely match the experimental results for the optimum formula. All of the optimized formulation were also checked for the characteristics of nanoemulsion including particle size, polydispersity index (PDI), zeta potential, viscosity, encapsulation efficiency, transmission electron microscope (TEM), antioxidant activity, skin irritation test and stability studies. Our study provides a promising combination of surfactant-co-surfactant and oil phases to produce a stable nanoemulsion that can be used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics in the future.

Abstract
Bacterial infections can lead to the formation of chronic wounds and delay the wound-healing process. Therefore, it is important to explore safe and efficient antimicrobial agents that have wound-healing and biocompatible properties. In this study, novel starch-fabricated silver nitroprusside nanoparticles (S-AgNP NPs) were prepared for biocompatible wound-healing applications. The study showed that S-AgNP NPs are spherical, with an average size of 356 ± 22.28 d. nm and zeta potential of -27.8 ± 2.80 mV, respectively. Furthermore, the FTIR and XRD results showed that S-AgNP NPs have functional groups and crystal structures from the silver nitroprusside nanoparticles (AgNP NPs) and starch. Additionally, S-AgNP NPs showed excellent bacterial and biofilm inhibition on B. cereus (15.6 μg/mL), L. monocytogenes (15.6 μg/mL), S. aureus (31.3 μg/mL), E. coli (31.3 μg/mL) and S. enterica (62.5 μg/mL). Moreover, S-AgNP NPs promoted cell migration and proliferation at a concentration of 62.5 μg/mL compared to AgNP NPs. Meanwhile, S-AgNP NPs had good biocompatibility and low cytotoxicity compared to AgNP NPs. Therefore, this study provided new ideas for the development of wound-healing agents with bacteriostatic properties in chronic wounds.

Abstract
Starch as an edible, biosafe, and functional biopolymer, has been tailored at nanoscale to deliver bioactive guests. Nanostarches fabricated in various morphologies including nanosphere, nanorod, nanoworm, nanovesicle, nanopolyhedron, nanoflake, nanonetwork etc., enable them to assemble different kinds of bioactives due to structural particularity and green modification. Previous studies have reviewed nanostarch for its preparation and application in food, however, no such work has been done for the potential of delivery system via polymorphic nanostarches. In this review, we focus on the merits of nanostarch empowered by multi-morphology for delivery system, and also conclude the assembly strategies and corresponding properties of nanostarch-based carrier. Additionally, the advantages, limitations, and future perspectives of polymorphic nanostarch are summarized to better understand the micro/nanostarch architectures and their regulation for the compatibility of bioactive molecules. According to the morphology of carrier, nanostarch effectively captures bioactives on the surface and/or inside core to form tight complexes, which maintains their stability in the human microenvironment. It improves the bioavailability of bioactive guests by different assembly approaches of carrier/guest surface combination, guest@carrier embedment, and nanostarch-mediated encapsulation. Targeted release of delivery systems is stimulated by the microenvironment conditions based on the complex structure of nanostarch loaded with bioactives.

Abstract
Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were employed as added particles for nanofluids in this practical investigation. To identify the most appropriate nanofluid for cooling PVT systems that are functional in the extreme summer environment of Baghdad, the parameters of base fluid, surfactant, and sonication time used for mixing were examined. Water was chosen as the base fluid instead of other potential candidates such as ethylene glycol (EG), propylene glycol (PG), and heat transfer oil (HTO). Thermal conductivity and stability were important thermophysical qualities that were impacted by the chosen parameters. The nanofluid tested in Baghdad city (consisting of 0.5% MWCNTs, water, and CTAB with a sonication period of three and a quarter hours) resulted in a 119.5, 308, and 210% enhancement of thermal conductivity (TC) for water compared with EG, PG, and oil, respectively. In addition, the nanofluid-cooled PVT system had an electrical efficiency that was 88.85% higher than standalone PV technology and 44% higher than water-cooled PVT systems. Moreover, the thermal efficiency of the nanofluid-cooled PVT system was 20% higher than the water-cooled PVT system. Finally, the nanofluid-cooled PVT system displayed the least decrease in electrical efficiency and a greater thermal efficiency even when the PV panel was at its hottest at noon.

Abstract
Quinoa starch nanoparticles (QSNPs) prepared by nanoprecipitation had a uniform particle size of 191.20 nm. QSNPs with amorphous crystalline structure had greater contact angle than QS with orthorhombic crystalline structure, which can therefore be utilized to stabilize Pickering emulsions. QSNPs-based Pickering emulsions prepared by suitable formulations (QSNPs concentration of 2.0-2.5 %, oil volume fraction of 0.33-0.67) exhibited good stability against pH of 3-9 and ionic strength of 0-200 mM. The oxidative stability of the emulsions increased with increasing starch concentration and ionic strength. Microstructural and rheological results indicated that the structure of the starch interfacial film and the thickening effect of the water phase affected the emulsion stability. The emulsion had excellent freeze-thaw stability and can be produced as a re-dispersible dry emulsion using the freeze-drying technique. These results implied that the QSNPs had great potential for application in the preparation of Pickering emulsions.

Abstract
To apply octenyl succinic anhydride (OSA)-modified corn, potato and pea starch nanoparticles (OCSNPs, OPtSNPs and OPSNPs, respectively) as Pickering emulsion stabilizers, effect of environmental conditions such as 30 days of storage period, pH of 1-11, ionic strength of 0.1-0.9 mol/L and heat of 30-90 °C on the stability of the emulsions was evaluated. Compared with emulsions stabilized by starch nanoparticles (SNPs), the emulsions stabilized by OSA-modified SNPs (OSNPs) kept stable against different environmental stresses (pH, ionic strength and heat) as well as for a storage period of 30 days, especially for OPtSNPs. Additionally, oiling-off was not observed in OSNPs emulsions over the storage time. OSNPs emulsions also showed improved protection on curcumin during storage and controlled release during in vitro digestion. These findings enlarged the application of OCSNPs, OPtSNPs and OPSNPs stabilized-Pickering emulsion in food systems and deliver system.

Abstract
Pickering emulsions are increasingly preferred over typical surfactant-based emulsions due to several advantages, such as lower emulsifier usage, simplicity, biocompatibility, and safety. These types of emulsions are stabilized using solid particles, which produce a thick layer at the oil-water interface preventing droplets from aggregating. Starch nano-particles (SNPs) have received considerable attention as natural alternatives to synthetic stabilizers due to their unique properties. Physical formulation processes are currently preferred for SNP production since they are environmentally friendly procedures that do not require the use of chemical reagents. This review provides a thorough overview in a critical perspective of the physical processes to produce starch nano-particles used as Pickering emulsion stabilizers, fabricated by a 2-step process. Specifically, the reviewed physical approaches for nano-starch preparation include high hydrostatic pressure, high pressure homogenization, ultrasonication, milling and antisolvent precipitation. All the essential parameters used to evaluate the effectiveness of particles in stabilizing these systems are also presented in detail, including the hydrophobicity, size, and content of starch particles. Finally, this review provides the basis for future research focusing on physical nano-starch production, to ensure the widespread use of these natural stabilizers in the ever-evolving field of food technology.

Abstract
Cancer immunotherapy is a therapeutic strategy to inhibit tumor growth and metastasis by intervening in the immune response process. Strategies applied to cancer immunotherapy mainly include blocking immune checkpoints, adoptive transfer of engineered immune cells, cytokine therapy, cancer vaccines, and oncolytic virus infection. However, many factors, such as off-target side effects, immunosuppressive cell infiltration and/or upregulation of immune checkpoint expression, cancer cell heterogeneity, and lack of antigen presentation, affect the therapeutic effect of immunotherapy on cancer. To improve the efficacy of targeted immunotherapy and reduce off-target effects, over the past two decades, nanoparticle delivery platforms have been increasingly used in tumor immunotherapy. However, nanoparticles are still subject to biological barriers and biodistribution challenges, which limit their overall clinical potential. This has prompted a series of engineered nanoparticles to overcome specific obstacles and transfer the accumulation of payloads to tumor-infiltrating immune cells. In recent years, new techniques and chemical methods have been employed to modify or functionalize the surfaces of nanoparticles. This review discusses the recent progress of surface-engineered nanoparticles in inducing tumor immune responses and immunotherapy, as well as future directions for the development of next-generation nanomedicines.

Abstract
For decades, photoinhibited two-photon lithography (PI-TPL) has been continually developed and applied into versatile nanofabrication. However, ultrahigh precision fabrication on wafer by PI-TPL remains challenging, due to the lack of a refractive index (n) matched photoresist (Rim-P) with effective photoinhibition capacity for dip-in mode. In this paper, various Rim-P are developed and then screened for their applications in PI-TPL. In addition, different lithography methods (in terms of oil-mode and dip-in mode) are analyzed by use of optical simulations combined with experiments. Remarkably, one type of Rim-P (n = 1.518) shows effective photoinhibition capacity, which represents an outstanding breakthrough in the field of PI-TPL. In contrast to photoresist with an unsuitable refractive index, optical aberrations are almost completely eliminated in the dip-in mode by using the Rim-P. Consequently, features with a minimum critical dimension as small as 39 nm are successfully achieved on wafer by dip-in PI-TPL, which paves the way for subdiffraction silicon-based chip manufacturing by PI-TPL. Moreover, through a combination of the Rim-P and dip-in mode, the ability to achieve tall and high-precision three-dimensional nanostructures is no longer problematic.
