Abstract
Herein, we have summarized the vast array of synthetic processes that have been developed for the synthesis of C-glycopyranosyl aldehydes and diverse C-glycoconjugates derived from them by covering the literature reported from 1979 to 2023. Notwithstanding its challenging chemistry, C-glycosides are considered stable pharmacophores and are used as important bioactive molecules. The discussed synthetic methodologies to access C-glycopyranosyl aldehydes take advantage of seven key intermediates, viz. allene, thiazole, dithiane, cyanide, alkene, and nitromethane. Furthermore, the integration of complex C-glycoconjugates derived from varied C-glycopyranosyl aldehydes involves nucleophilic addition/substitution, reduction, condensation, oxidation, cyclo condensation, coupling, and Wittig reactions. In this review, we have categorized the synthesis of C-glycopyranosyl aldehydes and C-glycoconjugates on the basis of the methodology used for their synthesis and on types of C-glycoconjugates, respectively.

Abstract
Coated silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have recently become a topic of interest due to the fact that they have several applications such as in electronic, antimicrobial, industrial, optical, and medical fields as biosensors and drug delivery systems. However, the use of AgNPs in medical fields remains somewhat limited due to their probable cytotoxic effect. Researchers have succeeded in reducing the toxicity of silver particles by coating them with different substances. Generally, the coating of AgNPs leads to change in their properties depending on the type of the coating material as well as the layer thickness. This review covers the state-of-the-art technologies behind (a) the synthesis of coated AgNPs including coating methods and coating materials, (b) the cytotoxicity of coated AgNPs and (c) the optical properties of coated AgNPs. Coated silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have recently become a topic of interest due to the fact that they have several applications such as in electronic, antimicrobial, industrial, optical, and medical fields as biosensors and drug delivery systems.![]()

Abstract
A series of novel vitamin D–coumarin hybrids were synthesised by esterification of the corresponding coumarin-3-carboxylic acids and vitamin D or vitamin D CD-ring alcohol in CH2Cl2 under microwave irradiation. They were obtained in higher yields (from 64–81% up to 79–87%) and shorter reaction time (from 3 h down to 15 min), compared with earlier conventional methodologies. The structures of all the target compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS. This provides an attractive and alternative method for the preparation of high-value vitamin D–coumarin hybrids.

Abstract
A Knoevenagel condensation reaction between a C-glycoside based aromatic aldehyde and cyclic active methylene compounds such as barbituric acid, thiobarbituric acid, 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid, 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexanedione, 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione and 3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one has been developed, to give a series of unusual fused heterocyclic compounds. The structures of all the new compounds were established by the spectral data. This method which did not use any catalysts, has the advantages of operational simplicity and minimal environmental impact.

Abstract
Core-shell nanoparticles (CSNs) are a class of nanostructured materials that have recently received increased attention owing to their interesting properties and broad range of applications in catalysis, biology, materials chemistry and sensors. By rationally tuning the cores as well as the shells of such materials, a range of core-shell nanoparticles can be produced with tailorable properties that can play important roles in various catalytic processes and offer sustainable solutions to current energy problems. Various synthetic methods for preparing different classes of CSNs, including the Stöber method, solvothermal method, one-pot synthetic method involving surfactants, etc., are briefly mentioned here. The roles of various classes of CSNs are exemplified for both catalytic and electrocatalytic applications, including oxidation, reduction, coupling reactions, etc.
