Abstract
This review classifies and summarizes the past 10-15 years of advancements in the field of metal-involving (i.e., metal-mediated and metal-catalyzed) reactions of oximes. These reactions are diverse in nature and have been employed for syntheses of oxime-based metal complexes and cage-compounds, oxime functionalizations, and the preparation of new classes of organic species, in particular, a wide variety of heterocyclic systems spanning small 3-membered ring systems to macroheterocycles. This consideration gives a general outlook of reaction routes, mechanisms, and driving forces and underlines the potential of metal-involving conversions of oxime species for application in various fields of chemistry and draws attention to the emerging putative targets.

Abstract
The dehydration of aldoximes to the corresponding nitriles can be performed with excellent activity and selectivity by using iron trimesate as a homogeneous catalyst. Iron trimesate has been heterogenized by synthesizing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) from iron trimesate, that is, Fe(BTC), and MIL-100 (Fe). These materials were active and selective aldoxime dehydration catalysts, and postsynthesis-treated MIL-100 (Fe) produced the desired nitriles with 100 % conversion and selectivities >90 % under mild reaction conditions and in short reaction times. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed the presence of different Fe species in the catalyst, and in situ IR spectroscopy combined with catalytic results indicates that the catalytic activity is associated with Fe framework species. The postsynthesis-treated MIL-100 (Fe)-NH4 F can be recycled several times and has an excellent reaction scope, which gives better catalytic results than other solid acid or base catalysts.

Abstract
The title compound, C(7)H(4)BrNO, crystallizes with two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The two molecules exhibit nearly linear C-C N nitrile bond angles of 179.1 (4) and 177.1 (4)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked into a one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded chain by inter-actions between the phenol H atom and the nitrile N atom [N⋯O = 2.805 (4) and 2.810 (4) Å].
