Abstract
Although mechanochemistry is increasingly becoming an alternative to traditional chemical synthesis, highly efficient continuous mechanochemical synthesis techniques are still rare. In this work, a novel spiral gas-solid two-phase flow (S-GSF) synthesis technique for the mechanochemical synthesis of salophen complexes has been reported, which is an approach for continuous synthesis based solely on airflow impacting the reaction. The synthesis of salophen-Br-Cu was used as a model reaction to optimize the reaction conditions, and three other salophen complexes, namely, salophen-Br-Co, salophen-Br-Ni, and salophen-Br-Zn were synthesized on this basis. The structure and thermal stability of the obtained products were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, UV-vis spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The results showed that these complexes can be obtained continuously at a rate close to 4 g min-1, and the corresponding space-time yield is close to 1.2 × 105 kg m-3 day-1. In addition, DTA was used to analyze the catalytic performance of the complex for ammonium perchlorate (AP). The results showed that compared to the conditions for pure AP, salophen-Br-Co and salophen-Br-Cu could significantly reduce the high-temperature decomposition of AP pyrolysis to 77.0 and 102.1 °C, respectively. According to the method of Kissinger calculations, the Ea of AP decomposition decreased from 217.3 kJ mol-1 to 131.0 and 118.5 kJ mol-1, respectively. The TG data at different heating rates were analyzed using two isoconversion methods, i.e. Flynne-Walle-Ozawa (FWO) and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS). The activation energies of AP, AP + 10 wt% salophen-Br-Co, and AP + 10 wt% salophen-Br-Cu were calculated. When the conversion degree (α) is between 0.1 and 0.9, the Ea values obtained from the two isoconversion methods are similar and exhibit certain matching. These two isoconversion methods also confirm Kissinger's calculations.

Abstract
The present work introduces both synthesis of silica nanoparticles doped with CoII ions by means of differently modified microemulsion water-in-oil (w/o) and Stöber techniques and characterization of the hybrid nanoparticles (CoII@SiO2) by TEM, DLS, XRD, ICP-EOS, SAXS, UV-Vis, and UV-Vis/DR spectroscopy and electrochemical methods. The results reveal the lack of nanocrystalline dopants inside the hybrid nanoparticles, as well as no ligands, when CoII ions are added to the synthetic mixtures as CoII(bpy)3 complexes, thus pointing to coordination of CoII ions with Si-O- groups as main driving force of the doping. The UV-Vis/DR spectra of CoII@SiO2 in the range of d-d transitions indicate that Stöber synthesis in greater extent than the w/o one stabilizes tetrahedral CoII ions versus the octahedral ions. Both cobalt content and homogeneity of the CoII distribution within CoII@SiO2 are greatly influenced by the synthetic technique. The electrochemical behavior of CoII@SiO2 is manifested by one oxidation and two reduction steps, which provide the basis for electrochemical response on glyphosate and HP(O)(OEt)2 with the LOD = 0.1 μM and the linearity within 0.1-80 μM. The Stöber CoII@SiO2 are able to discriminate glyphosate from HP(O)(OEt)2, while the w/o nanoparticles are more efficient but nonselective sensors on the toxicants.

Abstract
Two new cadmium(II) complexes with the formula of CdL2(NCS)2 and CdL2(N3)2 (in which L is 2,2-dimethyl-N,N'-bis-(3-phenyl-allylidene)-propane-1,3-diamine) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity measurements, FT/IR, UV-Visible, (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra and X-ray studies. The crystal structure analysis of CdL2(NCS)2 indicated that it crystallizes in orthorhombic system with space group of Pbca. Two Schiff base ligands are bonded to cadmium(II) ion as N2-donor chelate. Coordination geometry around the cadmium ion was found to be partially distorted octahedron. The Cd-Nimine bond distances are found in the range of 2.363(2)-2.427(2)Å while the Cd-Nisothiocyanate bond distances are 2.287(2)Å and 2.310(2)Å. The existence of C-H⋯π and C-H⋯S interactions in the CdL2(NCS)2 crystal leads to a supramolecular structure in its network. Then cadmium complexes were screened in vitro for their antibacterial and antifungal activities against two Gram-negative and two Gram-positive bacteria and also against Candida albicans as a fungus. Moreover, the compounds were subjected for DNA-cleavage potential by gel electrophoresis method. Finally thermo-gravimetric analysis of the complexes was applied for thermal behavior studies and then some thermo-kinetics activation parameters were evaluated.

Abstract
The systematic immobilization of cobalt(II) Schiff base complexes on SBA-15 mesoporous silica via copper catalyzed [3 + 2] azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) "click reaction" involving either step-wise synthesis of silica-bound Schiff base ligand followed by its subsequent complexation with cobalt ions, or by the direct immobilization of preformed Co(II) Schiff base complex to the silica support is described. The catalytic activity of the prepared complexes was studied for the oxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds using molecular oxygen as oxidant. The immobilized complexes were recycled for several runs without loss in catalytic activity and no leaching was observed during this course.
