Abstract
The intriguing features of surface-engineered hexagonal two-dimensional boron nitride (h-BN) nanostructures have captivated the immense interest of researchers working in the arena of materials science. Inspired by striking attributes exhibited by h-BN nanosheets as the support material, we devoted our efforts towards synthesizing a novel magnetically retrievable h-BN/Fe3O4/APTES-AMF/CuII catalytic system, which was then comprehensively characterized using various techniques including SEM, TEM, EDX, SEM-based elemental mapping, ED-XRF, AAS, XRD, FT-IR, VSM, XPS, TGA, and BET. Further, the catalytic potential of h-BN/Fe3O4/APTES-AMF/CuII nanocomposites was investigated in the one-pot multicomponent coupling reaction to gain access to a library of biologically active 2-amino-4-aryl(or heteroaryl)-7,7-dimethyl-5-oxo-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-chromene-3-carbonitriles under ambient conditions. In addition, the use of green solvent, facile magnetic recoverability, and reusability of up to six successive runs made this protocol environmentally benign and economical. This work throws light on the development of covalently functionalized 2D-BN nanostructure-based copper catalysts and establishes its significance in furnishing industrially demanding products that would pave the way towards sustainable chemistry.

Abstract
This work reports a facile and green approach to preparing AgIO3 nanoparticles decorated with chitosan (chitosan-AgIO3). The bionanocomposite was fully characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The antibacterial effect of chitosan-AgIO3 bionanocomposite was investigated for Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus as pathogen microorganisms via the plate count method, disk diffusion method, and optical density (OD) measurements. The antibacterial performance of the bionanocomposite was compared with two commercial drugs (penicillin and silver sulfadiazine) and in some cases, the synthesized bionanocomposite has a better effect in the eradication of bacteria. The bionanocomposite represented great antibacterial properties. Flow cytometry was performed to investigate the mechanism of bionanocomposite as an antibacterial agent. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) production was responsible for the bactericidal mechanisms. These results demonstrate that the chitosan-AgIO3 bionanocomposite, as a kind of antibacterial material, got potential for application in a broad range of biomedical applications and water purification. The design and synthesis of green and biodegradable antibacterial materials with simple processes and by using readily available materials cause the final product to be economically affordable and could be scaled in different industries.

Abstract
The tubular magnetic agar supported ZnS/CuFe2O4 nanocomposite was fabricated via a simple procedure. Next, various properties of this nanocomposite were studied by employing multiple characterization techniques including FT-IR, EDX, SEM, TEM,VSM, XRD, and TGA. Then, the catalytic and antibacterial applications were evaluated for the fabricated nanocomposite. Based on the experimental result, the nanocomposite showed excellent catalytic activity to promote the multicomponent reaction between ethyl acetoacetate, hydrazine hydrate, aromatic aldehydes, and malononitrile to synthesize a variety of dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives with high yields (89–95%) in acceptable reaction times (20–40 min) under mild reaction conditions. It can be efficiently recycled and re-work in six consequent runs without notable reduction in catalytic productiveness. Furthermore, its antibacterial activity was assessed against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria by the agar diffusion and plate-count methods. These results indicate that the width of the inhibition zone around the S. aureus (G+ bacterium) is more than that of E. coli (G− bacterium). Moreover, the agar supported ZnS/CuFe2O4 nanocomposite exhibited strong prevention of the bacterial colonies’ growth.

Abstract
Recently magnetic nanocatalyst has attracted considerable attention because of its unique properties, including high performance, easy separation from the reaction mixture, and recyclability. In this study, a novel magnetic bionanocomposite was synthesized with chitosan and tannic acid as a natural material. The synthesized bionanocatalyst was characterized by essential analysis. Fe3O4@chitosan-tannic acid as a heterogeneous nanocatalyst was successfully applied to synthesize pyranopyrazole and its derivatives by a one-pot four-component reaction of malononitrile, ethyl acetoacetate, hydrazine hydrate, and various aromatic aldehyde. At the end of the reaction, the nanocatalyst was separated from the reaction mixture and was reused several times with no significant decrease in its catalytic performance. Simple purification of products, the ability for recovering and reusing the nanocatalyst, eco-friendliness, high yields of pure products, mild reaction conditions, short reaction time, non-toxicity, economically affordable are some of the advantages of using the fabricated nanocatalyst in the synthesis of pyranopyrazole.

Abstract
Tissue is vital to the organization of multicellular organisms, because it creates the different organs and provides the main scaffold for body shape. The quest for effective methods to allow tissue regeneration and create scaffolds for new tissue growth has intensified in recent years. Tissue engineering has recently used some promising alternatives to existing conventional scaffold materials, many of which have been derived from nanotechnology. One important example of these is metal nanoparticles. The purpose of this review is to cover novel tissue engineering methods, paying special attention to those based on the use of metal-based nanoparticles. The unique physiochemical properties of metal nanoparticles, such as antibacterial effects, shape memory phenomenon, low cytotoxicity, stimulation of the proliferation process, good mechanical and tensile strength, acceptable biocompatibility, significant osteogenic potential, and ability to regulate cell growth pathways, suggest that they can perform as novel types of scaffolds for bone tissue engineering. The basic principles of various nanoparticle-based composites and scaffolds are discussed in this review. The merits and demerits of these particles are critically discussed, and their importance in bone tissue engineering is highlighted.

Abstract
A sensitive, specific, and miniaturized non-enzymatic cholesterol sensor was prepared based on the competition of inclusion complex formation between β-cyclodextrin (BCD) and cholesterol, and between BCD and methylene blue (MB). BCD was immobilized on the surface of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles instead of the electrode surface to increase the kinetic rate and enhance the sensitivity of the sensor. Furthermore, the use of magnetic nanocomposites and a screen-printed carbon electrode reduces the overall analysis time and simplifies the sample measurement procedures, making the sensor suitable for point-of-care analysis. The electrochemical measurement results of MB, released from the reactions between BCD and solutions containing various concentrations of cholesterol were used as the input signal to calculate the cholesterol concentrations. A good linearity as well as an excellent accuracy and repeatability in the concentration range of 0-150 μM with an estimated limit of detection of 2.88 μM could be achieved by using the amperometric technique at a constant potential of -0.43 V. The sensor showed a good selectivity in the presence of 1 mM concentrations of interfering agents, including NaCl, CaCl2, glycine, glucose, and ascorbic acid. Furthermore, a validation performed for cholesterol determination in milk samples was in agreement with the measurements performed by using the HPLC method, suggesting that the developed sensor is reliable.

Abstract
The development of simple, practical and inexpensive catalysis systems using natural materials is one of the main goals of pharmaceutical chemistry as well as green chemistry. Owing to the ability of easy separation of nanocatalyst, those goals could be approached by applying heterogeneous bionanocatalyst in combination with magnetic nanoparticles. Starch is one of the most abundant natural polymers; therefore, preparing bionanocatalyst from starch is very valuable as starch is largely available and inexpensive. An ecologically benign and efficacious heterogeneous nanocatalyst was prepared based on a biopolymer, and its attributes and morphology were specified by using Fourier transform infrared spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal analysis and vibrating sample magnetometer measurements; followed by studying catalytic behaviour of bionanocomposite in a multicomponent reaction to synthesize of 4H-pyran derivatives. 4H-pyran is extremely valuable in pharmaceutical chemistry, and the development of methods for synthesis of different derivatives of 4H-pyran is momentous. Revealing environmentally benign nature, mild condition, easy work-up, low cost and non-toxicity are some of the advantages of this protocol. Besides, the bionanocomposite was recovered using an external magnetic bar and could be re-used at least six times with no further decrease in its catalytic activity.

Abstract
:Hydrogels are known as polymer-based networks with the ability to absorb water and other body fluids. Because of this, the hydrogels are used to preserve drugs, proteins, nutrients or cells. Hydrogels possess great biocompatibility, and properties like soft tissue, and networks full of water, which allows oxygen, nutrients, and metabolites to pass. Therefore, hydrogels are extensively employed as scaffolds in tissue engineering. Specifically, hydrogels made of natural polymers are efficient structures for tissue regeneration, because they mimic natural environment which improves the expression of cellular behavior.:Producing natural polymer-based hydrogels from collagen, hyaluronic acid (HA), fibrin, alginate, and chitosan is a significant tactic for tissue engineering because it is useful to recognize the interaction between scaffold with a tissue or cell, their cellular reactions, and potential for tissue regeneration. The present review article is focused on injectable hydrogels scaffolds made of biocompatible natural polymers with particular features, the methods that can be employed to engineer injectable hydrogels and their latest applications in tissue regeneration.

Abstract
Various functional 3-acyl-1,5-benzodiazepines containing carboxyl, ester and acyl groups at the 2-position were synthesized via an efficient, sustainable and catalyst-free domino reaction. During the synthesis process, one new cycle and four new bonds (one C-C, two C-N and one C[double bond, length as m-dash]C) were constructed by the nucleophilic substitution, nucleophilic addition, dehydration and cyclization reaction by the H+ shift. Furthermore, a total of 26 examples were examined by reacting inexpensive starting materials of N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal, aromatic ketones, 1,2-phenylenediamine compounds and aldehyde derivatives. Therefore, it displayed a broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, high yields (77-97%) and the ease of obtaining target compounds without the involvement of toxic solvents and column chromatography, which provided a novel method for the synthesis of a wide variety of biologically relevant 1,5-benzodiazepines.

Abstract
In this study, we have attempted to extract cellulose from Cystoseria myricaas algae. Nanocellulose, Fe3O4 and Fe3O4-nanocellulose compounds are synthesized by acid hydrolysis and co-precipitation as well as sol-gel methods The synthesized compounds are characterized by x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, particle size distribution (PSD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM),energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, vibrating sample magnetometer and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The Hg (II) uptake on Fe3O4-nanocellulose is investigated by 14 isotherm models, 12 kinetic models, adsorption activation energy as well as thermodynamic of adsorption. The polymers of algae and the interactions between Hg (II) and cellulose are investigated by density functional theory (DFT) in various conditions. The results of both simulations show a good agreement with experimental data.

Abstract
To synthesis biodiesel from palm oil in one-time addition of methanol and solvent-free medium using CBD fused with C-terminal of lipase from G. stearothermophilus (GSlip-CBD) was immobilized onto magnetic cellulose nanosphere (MCNS). The immobilized matrix traits were preconceived by FT-IR, TEM and XRD. Perceptible biodiesel yield 98 and 73% was synthesized by GSlip-CBD-MCNS in 4 h and GSlip-MCNS in 6 h under the optimized conditions of oil:methanol ratio (1:3.5), temperature (55 and 50 °C) and enzyme loading (15 U). Intriguingly, the operational stability of GSlip-CBD-MCNS was an easily attainable owing to the magnetic properties and could be reused up to 8th and19th cycles with 94 and 45% of biodiesel yield respectively, compared to GSlip-MCNS. Thus GSlip-CBD-MCNS could be a potential biocatalyst for higher yield of biodiesel and reusability in one step addition of methanol.

Abstract
Abstract
In this work, an efficient chitosan-based magnetic bionanocomposite was synthesized via a two-step method and characterized by Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images. Then, it was used as a heterogeneous catalyst for the one-pot multicomponent syntheses of a variety of heterocyclic compounds including 2-amino-4H-pyrans, 2-amino-4H-chromens and polyhydroquinoline derivatives in ethanol at room temperature. The catalyst was simply separated from the reaction mixture by an external magnet and reused several times. The products were isolated from the reaction mixtures, without any need of column chromatography, in high-to-excellent yields. A reusable and easily recoverable catalyst, use of a green solvent, room temperature and mild reaction conditions are some advantages of the present work.

Abstract
A practical and green approach for the ultrasound-enhanced one-pot multicomponent synthesis of tetraheterocyclic imidazo(thiazolo)pyrimidines is described via the condensation of an 2-aminobenzimidazole or 2-aminobenzothiazole, dimedone and various aldehydes in the presence of Fe3O4@clay as an environmentally benign and reusable core/shell nanocomposite catalyst in relatively quantitative yields. This novel eco-friendly protocol includes several advantages such as avoiding hazardous solvents, reusability of the catalyst, easy work-up, short reaction times, room temperature and mild reaction conditions. Furthermore, ultrasonic irradiation and synergistic catalyst showed considerable superiority vs. traditional heating or stirring conditions.

Ultrasonic treatment of CoFe 2O 4@B 2O 3-SiO 2 as a new hybrid magnetic composite nanostructure and catalytic application in the synthesis of dihydroquinazolinones. ULTRASONICS SONOCHEMISTRY 2017; 37:260-266. Abstract
New hybrid magnetic composite nanostructure are prepared via ultrasonic treatment by glass-ceramic method, characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), element distribution image (EDX mapping), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA)/differential thermal analysis (DTA) and N2 adsorption-desorption by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analyses. Then, the catalytic activity of the prepared CoFe2O4@B2O3-SiO2 nanoparticles was tested in the synthesis of 2-substituted-3-(phenylamino)-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones in deep eutectic solvent (DES) based on choline chloride as an eco-friendly and recyclable media. This novel protocol offers several advantages such as high yields (70-93%), short reaction times (10-20min), environmentally-friendly reaction media, easily isolation of the products, simple preparation and recoverability of the nanocatalysts (at least 5 times), recyclability of the solvents from the reaction mixture without use of hazardous volatile organic solvent. The catalyst was readily recycled by the use of an external magnetic field and could be reused several times without significant loss of activity or mass. The saturation magnetization of CoFe2O4@B2O3-SiO2 nanoparticles was 8.97emug-1. Their average size distribution was about 12.5nm. DES was a mixture of choline chloride and urea that was recovered from the filtrate by evaporating the water under vacuum.

Bari SS, Mishra S. Effect of calcium sulphate nanorods on mechanical properties of chitosan-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) copolymer nanocomposites. Carbohydr Polym 2017; 157:409-418. Abstract
Copolymers of chitosan and hydroxyetheyl methacrylate (HEMA) were successfully synthesized using ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) as an initiator, via in situ polymerization method, followed by efficacious preparation of their nanocomposites by incorporating calcium sulphate nanorods via solution blending process. Hydrophilicity studies confirmed that grafting of HEMA in the backbone of the hydrophobic chitosan chains induced the improvement in hydrophilicity of chitosan, while mechanical properties of the nanocomposites were also enhanced significantly up to 20%, due to availability of enlarged surface area and higher aspect ratio of CaSO4 nanorods. This was supported by FE-SEM and XRD analysis in terms of proper distribution of nanofiller through the copolymer matrix and corresponding rise in percentage crystallanity respectively. Results obtained from biodegradation studies proved the efficiency of CaSO4 nanofillers to improve biomechanical strength of chitosan nanocomposites, without affecting their normal degradation profile that renders the products to be applicable for biomedical applications.
