Abstract
The spent S-Zorb adsorbents containing Ni and Zn elements are hazardous wastes. It would generate significant economic and environmental benefits to reactivate and recycle these solid wastes through a reactivation strategy. Furthermore, adaptability investigation of this strategy is also indispensable before its industrial application. Herein, the spent S-Zorb adsorbents (Spent-TJ/MM/QD) from different plants were reactivated at laboratory and pilot scale in 3 m3 reactor via an acid-base coupling reactivation strategy. The spent adsorbents exhibit distinct phase compositions and microstructures of active components. Formation of ZnSi2O4 and ZnS is the primary reason for abandonment of the Spent-TJ (Spent-MM) and Spent-QD, respectively. The nickel species also exhibit different aggregation extent. Fortunately, the inert zinc and nickel species are respectively converted into ZnO and NiO during the reactivation process. Higher surface area (1.7-4.0 times that of the spent adsorbents) and more acid sites are generated over the reactivated adsorbents. Besides, all the reactivated adsorbents possess similar phase compositions and microstructures. Both the adsorbents reactivated at pilot and laboratory scale exhibit comparable desulfurization activity to fresh ones. The sulfur content of the gasoline desulfurized by the reactivated adsorbents is below 10 μg g-1, meeting the Euro V legislations. All the results indicate the excellent adaptability and commercial potential of the reactivation strategy. The possible mechanism for the excellent adaptability of the reactivation method was proposed.

Abstract
Two kinds of NiO/ZnO-TiO2 adsorbents were prepared by equal volume impregnation (NiO/ZnO-TiO2-1) and kneading (NiO/ZnO-TiO2-2) methods. The adsorbents were characterized by X-ray diffraction, mercury intrusion porosimetry, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, H2 temperature-programmed reduction, and H2 temperature-programmed desorption. It was found that NiO/ZnO-TiO2-2 had a smaller average pore diameter and a larger specific surface area as well as a more uniform distribution of the nickel element. Additionally, more Ni0 active sites together with a stronger interaction between the active component and the support were detected on the surface of NiO/ZnO-TiO2-2, which was beneficial to the inhibition of olefin saturation during desulfurization. The desulfurization performance of the adsorbents was investigated in a fixed bed reactor with fluid catalytic cracking light gasoline as a feed oil. The evaluation results confirmed NiO/ZnO-TiO2-2 with a better desulfurization performance with less olefin saturation. It could reduce the total sulfur content from 300 ppmw to less than 5 ppmw, and the breakthrough time and breakthrough sulfur capacity were 91 h and 6.71% (67.1 mg S/g adsorbent), respectively.

Abstract
Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) is a widely used process currently employed in petroleum refineries to eliminate organosulfur compounds in fuels. The current hydrotreating process struggles to remove organosulfur compounds with a steric hindrance due to the electronic nature of the current catalysts employed. In this work, the effects of adding chelating ligands such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), citric acid (CA) and acetic acid (AA) to rhodium (Rh) and active molybdenum (Mo) species for dibenzothiophene (DBT) HDS catalytic activity was evaluated. HDS activities followed the order of RhMo/ɣ-Al2O3 (88%) > RhMo-AA/ɣ-Al2O3 (73%) > RhMo-CA/ɣ-Al2O3 (72%) > RhMo-EDTA/ɣ-Al2O3 (68%). The observed trend was attributed to the different chelating ligands with varying electronic properties, thus influencing the metal–support interaction and the favorable reduction of the Mo species. RhMo/ɣ-Al2O3 offered the highest HDS activity due to its (i) lower metal–support interaction energy, as observed from the RhMo/ɣ-Al2O3 band gap of 3.779 eV and the slight shift toward the lower BE of Mo 3d, (ii) increased Mo-O-Mo species (NMo-O-Mo ~1.975) and (iii) better sulfidation of Rh and MoO in RhMo/ɣ-Al2O3 compared to the chelated catalysts. The obtained data provides that HDS catalytic activity was mainly driven by the structural nature of the RhMo-based catalyst, which influences the formation of more active sites that can enhance the HDS activity.

Abstract
Two different synthetic methods, the direct method and the substitution method, were used to synthesize the Cs-POM@MOF-199@MCM-41 (Cs-PMM), in which the modified heteropolyacid with cesium salt has been encapsulated into the pores with the mixture of MOF and MCM-41. The structural properties of the as-prepared catalysts were characterized using various analytical techniques: powder X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, SEM, TEM, XPS and BET, confirming that the Cs-POM active species retained its Keggin structure after immobilization. The substitution method of Cs-PMM exhibited more excellent catalytic performance for oxidative desulfurization of dibenzothiophene in the presence of oxygen. Under optimal conditions, the DBT conversion rate reached up to 99.6% and could be recycled 10 times without significant loss of catalytic activity, which is mainly attributed to the slow leaching of the active heteropolyacid species from the strong fixed effect of the mixture porous materials.
