Abstract
Ultrasound-assisted synthesis of pyrimidoquinolindione derivatives via a multicomponent reaction and subsequent formylation with Vilsmeier-Haack reagent were performed. Compounds were prepared by a one-pot method from aminopyrimidinones, dimedone and aromatic aldehydes through a Mannich-type reaction sequence, and then functionalized under ultrasound irradiation and Vilsmeier-Haack conditions to give β-chlorovinylaldehyde products. Ultrasonically assisted reactions, experimental simplicity, good yields without using metallic catalysts and the control of hazardous material release are features of this simple procedure.

Abstract
Herein, we report a rapid catalyst-free three-component reaction of 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, cinnamaldehydes and 3-aminopyrazoles in ethanol medium under reflux conditions for the easy access of styryl-linked dihydropyridines fused with naphthoquinone and pyrazole moiety. A wide variety of cinnamaldehyde derivatives and 3-aminopyrazoles were found suitable for this three-component reaction. All the products were fully characterized by spectroscopic tools and by recording single crystal XRD of one of the product. Catalyst-free reaction conditions, short reaction time, good yields of the products, easy purification process, formation of three new bonds (Two C-C and one C-N) in one-pot and products having four different bioactive moieties are the notable features of this methodology.

Abstract
Reactions in water have demonstrated numerous surprising results. The effects
of water in these reactions may include significant physical and chemical interactions with
the substrates and catalysts through polar effects and hydrogen bonding ability. In some
instances, water is also able to interact with the intermediates of reactions and possibly
with the transition states of chemical processes. Organic synthesis in water encourages the
researchers to follow the principles of green chemistry. Among heterocyclic compounds,
quinoline scaffold has become an important motif for the development of new
drugs. They are widely found in pharmaceuticals as well as in agrochemical industry. Over
the last few decades, numerous reports have been documented to access quinoline derivatives
with structural diversity, either by new annulation or by ring functionalization. This review summarizes an
overview of the synthesis and functionalisation of quinoline scaffolds in an aqueous medium. This method may
encourage researchers to adopt green chemistry and to apply these environmentally safe methods in designing
important heterocyclic cores.

Abstract
A green and efficient method for preparing novel heterocyclic systems is established through the reaction of differently substituted benzaldehydes, barbituric acid and 4-amino-2H-chromene-2-one under solvent-free conditions. This method affords 6H-chromeno[3’,4’:5,6] pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-trione derivatives in high yields and short reaction times.

Abstract
A new series of 15-aryl-2,3,4,15-tetrahydrochromeno[2′,3′:4,5]pyrimido[6,1-b]quinazoline-1,9-diones was synthesised by the cyclisation of methyl anthranilate with ethyl N-(3-cyano-5-oxo-4-aryl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-chromen-2-yl)formimidate derivatives, which were obtained by the reactions of 2-amino-5-oxo-4-aryl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-chromene-3-carbonitrile derivatives and triethyl orthoformate. The structure of the 2,4-dichlorophenyl derivative was further determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.

Abstract
Series of cyano substituted isoquinoline dyes were synthesized by one-pot multicomponent reactions (MCRs) of aldehydes, malononitrile, 6-methoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalin-1-one and ammonium acetate. Results obtained from spectroscopic (FT-IR, (1)H-NMR, (13)C-NMR, EI-MS) and elemental analysis of synthesized compounds was in agreement with their chemical structures. Structure of the compound was further conformed by X-ray crystallographic. UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy measurements provided that all compounds are good absorbent and fluorescent. Fluorescence polarity study demonstrated that these compounds were sensitive to the polarity of the microenvironment provided by different solvents. In addition, spectroscopic and physicochemical parameters, including electronic absorption, extenction coefficient, Stokes shift, oscillator strength transition dipole moment and fluorescence quantum yield were investigated in order to explore the analytical potential of synthesized compounds. The anti-bacterial activity of these compounds were first studied in vitro by the disk diffusion assay against two Gram-positive and two Gram-negative bacteria. The minimum inhibitory concentration was then determined with the reference of standard drug chloramphenicol. The results displayed that compound 3 was better inhibitors of both types of the bacteria (Gram-positive and Gram-negative) than chloramphenicol. Furthermore, quantum chemistry calculations using DFT/6-31-G* level of theory confirm the results. Dipole moment and frontier molecular orbitals were also investigated.
