Abstract
Herein, we have disclosed a rare example of an intramolecular doubly vinylogous Michael addition (DVMA). The reaction design exploits the innate reactivity of ortho-heteroatom substituted para-quinone methide (p-QM) derivatives. The sequential reaction of p-QMs and activated allyl halides proceeds through heteroatom-allylation, DVMA and oxidation to furnish a diverse range of 2-alkenyl benzofuran and 2-alkenyl indole derivatives in high yields.

Abstract
The Er(OTf)3-catalyzed cascade cyclization reaction of para-quinone methides (p-QMs) with various 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds has been developed, which efficiently constructed a series of versatile 4-aryl-3,4-dihydrocoumarins and 4-aryl-4H-chromenes. Herein, we not only propose a novel cyclization strategy of p-QMs, but also provide an easy access to structurally diverse coumarins and chromenes.

Abstract
The asymmetric catalytic [4 + 2] cycloannulation of ortho-aminophenyl p-QMs with different types of alkenes for the construction of tetrahydroquinolines containing three contiguous stereogenic centers was developed. This is the first example of catalytic asymmetric cycloannulation of ortho-aminophenyl p-QMs. This reaction exhibits excellent functional group tolerance. Excellent yields, exclusive diastereoselectivities, and high enantioselectivities were obtained in this efficient organocatalytic reaction.

Abstract
In the last few years, there has been an explosive growth in the area of para-quinone methide (p-QM) chemistry. This boom is actually due to the unique reactivity pattern of p-QMs, and also their remarkable synthetic applications. In fact, p-QMs serve as synthons for unsymmetrical diaryl- and triarylmethanes, and also for the construction of diverse range of carbocycles and heterocycles. In the last few years, a wide range of structurally complex heterocyclic frameworks could be accessed through the synthetic transformations of structurally modified stable p-QMs. Therefore, the main focus of this review article is to cover the recent advancements in the transition-metal, Lewis acid and base-catalyzed/mediated synthetic transformations of the stable p-quinone methides (p-QMs) to oxygen- and nitrogen-containing heterocycles.

Abstract
The enantioselective synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromenes via the cascade rhodium-catalysed conjugate addition/hetero Thorpe-Ziegler reaction is reported. Moderate to good yields (up to 98%) and high enantioselectivities (up to 92% ee) were obtained with a chiral diene-coordinated rhodium complex as the catalyst. This protocol remedies the methodological deficiency in the asymmetric synthesis of 4-aryl 2-amino-4H-chromenes.

Abstract
An enantioselective (92-99% ee) Michael/aldol cascade reaction between 4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetates and α,β-unsaturated enones was established in the presence of cinchona alkaloid-based primary amines. Various β-CF3-cyclohexanones were constructed in high yields (81-99%) as a couple of separable diastereomers. This tandem reaction was sensitive to acidic co-catalysts, with a Michael/aldol condensation process favorably occurring to generate β-CF3-cyclohexenones (42-69% yield, 84-96% ee) in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid.

Abstract
The first highly asymmetric catalytic synthesis of densely functionalized dihydrobenzofurans is reported, which starts from ortho-hydroxy-containing para-quinone methides. The reaction relies on an unprecedented formal [4+1]-annulation of these quinone methides with allenoates in the presence of a commercially available chiral phosphine catalyst. The chiral dihydrobenzofurans were obtained as single diastereomers in yields up to 90 % and with enantiomeric ratios up to 95:5.
