Abstract
NHC boryl radical mediated halogen atom transfer (XAT) is useful in organic synthesis. Yet, most of the reaction ends only with reducing the halogen to hydrogen, that is, the C-X to C-H. This is especially dominant for electron-deficient alkyl halides, where the formed electrophilic radical reacts rapidly with NHC boranes. Herein, by employing a sterically hindered NHC borane as the boryl radical precursor (IPr·BH3), we were able to use the electrophilic-deficient alkyl halide (α-Iodide gem-di(B(pin))methane) in the C-C bond formation reaction. Mono-, disubstituted styrene, aliphatic alkenes, and heteroatom-substituted alkenes were used as reaction partners. Forty hydro(gem-diboryl)methylation products were obtained at room temperature in moderate to good yields. Detailed mechanistic studies revealed that the reaction mainly involved the radical process.

Abstract
Conjugate addition of α-boron-stabilized carbanions is an underexplored reaction modality. Existing methods require deborylation of geminal di-/triboryl alkanes and/or the presence of additional activating groups. We report the 1,4-addition of α,α-diboryl carbanions generated via deprotonation of the corresponding geminal diborons. The methodology provided a general route to highly substituted and synthetically useful γ,γ-diboryl ketones. The development of geminal diborons as soft pronucleophiles also enabled their use as acyl anion equivalents via a one-pot tandem conjugate addition-oxidation sequence.

Abstract
N,O-heterocycles containing the dicarbonyl ring play a significant role in heterocyclic and therapeutic chemistry. Since the discovery of 1,3-diketones, numerous research works have been achieved regarding the synthesis and its chemical reactivity. In this review, we have described the most relevant publications involving β-diketone compounds published during the period between 2018 to date. In addition, we include the 1,3-diketones-based heterocyclic compounds prepared by various synthetic methodologies.

Abstract
Carbanions serve as key intermediates in a variety of chemical transformations. Particularly, α-borylcarbanions have received considerable attention in recent years because of their peculiar properties, including the ability of boron atom resonance to stabilise the adjacent negatively charged carbon atom. This feature article summarises recent progress in the synthetic utilisation of α-borylcarbanions, including carbon-carbon bond formation with alkyl halides, alkenes, N-heteroarenes, and carbonyls. Carbon-boron bond formation in organohalides mediated by α-borylcarbanions is also summarised.

Abstract
An unprecedented copper-catalyzed reaction of sulfoxonium ylides and anthranils is reported that enables an easy access to 2,3-diaroylquinolines through a [4+1+1] annulation. Copper-catalyzed homocoupling of sulfoxonium ylides provided α,α,β-tricarbonyl sulfoxonium ylides, which provides a strategy to extend the carbon chain through C-C bond formation. The utility of the products as well as the mechanistic details of the process are presented.
