Abstract
Azoles have widespread applications in medicinal chemistry; for example, thiazoles, imidazoles, benzimidazoles, isoxazoles, tetrazoles and triazoles appear in the top 25 most frequently used N-heterocycles in FDA-approved drugs. Efficient routes for the late-stage C-H functionalisation of azole cores would therefore be highly desirable. The Minisci reaction, a nucleophilic radical addition reaction onto N-heterocyclic bases, is a direct C-H functionalisation reaction that has the potential to be a powerful method for C-H functionalisations of azole scaffolds. However, azoles have not been as widely studied as substrates for modern Minisci-type reactions as they are often more electron-rich and thus more challenging substrates compared to electron-poor 6-membered N-heterocycles such as quinolines, pyrazines and pyridines typically used in Minisci reactions. Nevertheless, with the prevalence of azole scaffolds in drug design, the Minisci reaction has the potential to be a transformative tool for late-stage C-H functionalisations to efficiently access decorated azole motifs. This review thus aims to give an overview of the C-H functionalisation of azoles via Minisci-type reactions, highlighting recent progress, existing limitations and potential areas for growth.

Abstract
The highly regioselective C6-H hydroxylalkylation of purines and purine nucleosides within 10 min via the α-C(sp3)-H functionalization of alcohols at room temperature is reported here for the first time. The reaction tolerated various functional groups, which have the potential for further modification to afford other valuable molecules. The reported method avoids metal catalysts, light, and protecting groups, giving a direct strategy to access 6-substitued alkylated purines and nucleosides with pharmaceutical bioactivities.

Abstract
To discover an efficient and convenient method to synthesize C2-arylacylated benzothiazoles as potential drug scaffolds, a novel [bis(trifluoroacetoxy)iodo]benzene(PIFA)/KOH synergistically promoted direct ring-opening C2-arylacylation reaction of 2H-benzothiazoles with aryl methyl ketones has been developed. Various substrates were tolerated under optimized conditions affording the C2-arylacylation products in 70-95% yields for 38 examples. A plausible mechanism was also proposed based on a series of controlled experiments.

Abstract
Abstract
A practical and efficient synthetic route to construct a variety of 3-arylselenenyl/3-arylthio spiro[4.5]trienones was developed using Selectfluor reagent as a mild oxidant. This reaction proceeds via a sequence of electrophilic cation addition, spirocyclization and dearomatization, then offers an approach to introduce Se/S-centered cation into the C–C triple bonds. The utility of this protocol were justified by the excellent compatibility of a wide range of functional groups, good yields and scalability under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
We have developed a regioselective C-N cross-coupling of 1,2,4-thiadiazoles with sulfonyl azides through iridium catalysis in water. This method tactically linked the 1,2,4-thiadiazoles and sulfonamides together, and the novel molecules increased the diversity of 1,2,4-thiadiazoles which may have potential applications.

A visible-light-driven cascade radical cyclization process of N-methacryloyl-2-phenylbenzimidazole has been established with α-carbonyl alkyl bromide. This protocol provides an efficient and practical method for the synthesis of various α-carbonyl alkyl-substituted benzimidazo[2,1-α]isoquinolin-6(5H)-ones in outstanding yields, mild reaction conditions and excellent functional group tolerance. A visible-light-driven radical cyclization method has been developed for synthesis of α-carbonyl alkyl-substituted benzimidazo[2,1-a]isoquinolin-6(5H)-ones. Abstract
With the assistance of a practical directing group (COAQ), the first catalytic protocol for the palladium-catalyzed C(sp3)-H monoarylation of methanol has been developed, offering an invaluable synthesis means to establish extensive derivatives of crucial arylmethanol functional fragments. Furthermore, the gram-scale reaction, broad substrate scope, excellent functional group compatibility, and even the practical synthesis of medicines further demonstrate the usefulness of this strategy.
